My experience with Doug Sh. at Delmar Auto has been very opposite: I spent over $ 2000 for a crankshaft ventitation system repair after which the car started leaking oil. Had to put oil every 400-600 miles so took it back to Delmar Auto. Doug, who has no idea of what customer service is, (never calls to let you know status of car) blamed the car leak on a terrible job done by "somebody" on the cam shaft system. On top of that said the radiator and steering oil were leaking and needed repair (~$ 1500). When I told him that he had "fixed" the cam shaft system 3 months ago, his reaction was "really" ? I gave him the Invoice number and when he reviewed it, his story completely changed to the oil leak was an unrelated consequence of the cam shaft system repair. Started reading a bulletin for the car that talked about the cam shaft system, bla, bla, bla. In short, did not take responsibility for it and returned the car with full fresh oil in the engine. To my surprise, when I got home I checked the oil dip which indicated it was empty !!. Implication is that he never did anything to the car and took no responsibility to the work he had performed. Totally unprofessional and un-ethical and do not know how he has survived in the business. Even though he claims he does, for sure he does not have any knowledge of European cars. Do not take your car to Delmar Auto & Radiator, always a story of why it is not his fault of the work performed. Be aware of his tactics and mode of operation.

I stopped at Delmar Auto & Radiator in 2001 in my hotrod with a leaking gas tank in about 3 hours leaks were repaired and I was a greatful satified customer. I continued to be the past 10 yrs. I bring Doug all my family vechicles. I know i'm getting it straight and know the professionals who work on my cars.
I needed a radiator tailored used on a ford 302 for a 351 Windsor to swap in a 1931 ford . Hoses were on oposite sides on 351W
moving hoses saved a lot of time and money in conversion. I'm not sure I could have gotten another place to taken on work or understood what I was doing.

Delmar Auto does overall good automobile repair, specializing in radiator repair. They finished repairing my cooling system much faster than I expected, for about the cost I expected. Friendly and knowledgeable staff were able to explain what my radiator's problem was even to someone as unfamiliar with cars as me. Not the best deal out there, but definitely solid and reliable service.

PROS: Competent, reliable, quick work.
CONS: None significant.
