The waitress's were intensely rude. I found a hair on the syrup canister and when I called the waitress over to reasonably explain, they didn't even apologized and walked away while I was in the middle of talking to her. It then took another 15 minutes to reserve me my pancakes, meanwhile this was during dinner time and the place was near empty. When I asked the waitress to have the pancakes to go, she gave me an attitude and did not even bother to get me a take-out container. Other then the uncleanliness and rude waitress's, the food satisfactory.

Country Kitchen is a ??small neighborhood restaurant?-style franchise, similar to IHOP or Friendly's, but not quite up to that level in food quality or service. The decor is very simple, with a patriotic country theme, and the dining room was very clean (, though we could have done without the rechargeable carpet sweeper-armed staffer repeatedly buzzing past our table while we ate.) We used to regularly have breakfast and dinner at this restaurant, for more than twenty years, going back to the days when it was the Pancake Cottage. We stopped going a few years ago, when a general decline in food quality and customer appreciation outweighed the convenience of its location, and our force of habit. We recently tried it again, partly because of a long wait at IHOP, and partly because of the franchiser's ??Free Entree on Your Birthday? promotion, but the visit only confirmed our previous assessment: The dining room was still very clean, but half-empty at dinnertime on a Friday night; the food quality was average/just okay; and the management was still inept and rude. (Note: Just assume that they will not honor any promotion or coupon that drew you into their establishment, even if their staff assures you that it is valid.)

Nice neighborhood place, decor is lovely and the food is very good, however, the dinner specials I was a bit disappointed with the size portions. Recommend it more for breakfast or lunch. Need to train their young staff a bit more. They were busy talking to one another in the back by the kitchen rather than servicing the customers- again this was during dinner time.
Never seemed to have a problem during breakfast hours.
