I agree with some of the other reviews, the owner of this place is crazy. He displayed the same behaviour to me and my party as described in the other reviews. I would stay far away from this place given there are many other better options nearby.

I agree with the review by Jolet, the owner is a nut-case and I told him so.

I had just finished paying my drink bill when he comes up to me and starts arguing about a water bottle I had in my hand.

I told him I had just paid for my drinks and given a generous tip (which I now regret), but to no avail.

He kept arguing, till I left. Either he is rude by nature or has lost his senses.

Either way stay away from it, many better sports bars in the city.

Cons: Owner

I've been to this bar a few times for football games, but I also stopped by to watch the Yankees win the world series and I wanted to express how great the service and food was.

The waitress at the front door let me know that there weren't any tables available, but instead of flubbing me to the bar she took my drink order, because the bar was also busy, and then got me a table after about a half hour. After sitting for awhile I learned that even the owner was helping out behind the bar! As always I got the burger and loved it.

It was great to see all the staff getting involved in the game. Keep up the good work guys!

I recently wrote a review regarding the service at the bar. I loved coming in, and having my waitress who consequently both were named Stephanie know what I wanted when I sat down. These two exceptional ladies were both fired I learned last night, and the service I received was subpar.

I'm new to NYC, and have had drinks at this spot a few times in the past month. The service is impecable. I am always promptly greeted at the door, the waitresses are friendly always chatting me up, and after several visits I sat down with the girl knowing immediately what I drank. I've found my Cheers on Carmine St.

I got great fast service at this friendly Irish pub. The food was delicious. My date and I both enjoyed our entrees (a salad, and the chicken). I will definitely be returning.

I just threw a surprise birthday/Super Bowl party for my husband and it was fantastic. The owner was a pleasure to work with - accomodating, helpful and available. The staff was terrific and the food delicious. I was thrilled with the way everything turned out and would recommend Mr. Dennehy's to anyone looking for a fun place to have a party.

My friends and I wanted to have a few drinks and maybe some finger food , so we went to Mr Dennehy's pub in the village last Saturday night . Our server Sara was very friendly, professional, and a lot of fun. She talked us into getting entrees. We were pleasantly surprised the food was great the drinks were on the weak side. Try the burger with an English mafin instead of the bun and the chipotle wings awesome. Overall it was a great evening we will definitely be back.

Ok, so I didn't love this place. The restaurant was beautiful and the service superb but didn't love the food. Everything we ordered was swimming in butter.

We dined here with friends from out of town who had never been to NY before. Rarely am I this disappointed by any NY restaurant so I felt comfortable trying a new place with them. Our dinner was very expensive and we all agreed that everything had entirely too much butter.

Mad props for the ambiance and service however, I would not go back here. Sorry Mr. Dennehy s, you're just not one of my favorites.

One of my favorite places to dine. Nice location, wonderfully warm atmosphere, great service, and delicious food. The prices may be a bit on the high side, but it's well worth it. Try the crispy tuna wasabi to start. From what I understand, the Caesar salad is the best around and the grilled shrimp is to die for. You can't go wrong with the sesame crusted tuna which is quite tasty as well.

I like to go to this bar on weekend mornings to watch the Everton F.C. Premier league games. They have about 5 large thin-screen tv's along 2 walls, which makes watching different games simultaneously quite possible. The bartender and waitresses are always on top of getting peoples drinks and food, always checking to see if we want another when our glasses are empty. The food is delicious. I have had a hard time finding Fish 'n Chips that comes close to the crunchy batter found in the local chippy in England. Mr. Dennehy's comes very close and rounds out a lovely meal with crunchy, thin, seasoned fries. The atmosphere is lovely, the decor gorgeous wood, kept highly polished. rounding out a good deal: the prices are really reasonable for a New York City brunch .

Cons: single restrooms could be a problem when busy

Great Irish pub that you've probably seen in the guiness commercial. Any way the food is so much better than pub food. Although they make a great burger, the entrees are spectacular. All of the seafood dishes are amazing!

My friend lives upstairs from the bar, and frequents it all the time. So last night, looking for a low key neighborhood evening, a group of us girls got a table and were enjoying ourselves having a few drinks. About 2 hours later I walk to the restroom, only to be intercepted by a man telling me I can't use it. He went on to say that only customers can use the restrooms. I explained that I was a customer and have been sitting at a table for quite a while (pointing at the table where my friends are sitting). I had to actually walk him to the table to show him my purse to prove that I was a customer. After asking a waitress who the disrespectful man was, she informed me he was the owner. We gathered our things and walked out, in utter disbelief, that the owner was able to treat his patrons so rudely without a blink of the eye. Unbelievable.

Pros: Used to have a few, all went out the door last night...

Cons: Where do I start....

I had to throw a last minute party for my business group (23 of us) after our reservation got 'misplaced' at an upscale establishment in the neighborhood. I found it on referral but didn't have many options on short notice. I was afraid it would be just another neighborhood pub... but these guys run a different kind of show.

The food was great and there were dishes for everyone... from the foodies in the group to the pub hounds who were just super down to have such a great burger. Quality was above and beyond what you would expect going out to a pub. The private room was a nice space with its own bar that could comfortably hold 2-3x more I would guess.

Highly recommended for group outings or even to watch a game and just eat well.

I wandered into, what I thought was another Irish Pub,
read the menu and thought that no one could live up to this.
It must be another cook who watches the cooking channel and fakes it.
The presentation of our food took our breath away
YET, still not believing that it would have any flavor.
The taste was more incredible then the look.
This Pub is worth the ride. Please don't let yourself lose this opportunity.
I hope to see you there because I will be back as often as life allows.
Enjoy!!!!!!!

This first time I was at this little place, was a few months back, at a birthday party. We had the event in the bar downstairs, it was amazing, the food, oh my god the food, it was wonderful, I almost forgot it was bar food, it was so good. We had a great night, it got a little crazy actually but the bartenders we great, Rob and another guy, that was running in and out, Frank i think. Awsome night! I was in again two weeks ago for a quite drink, and Rob was there again and he remembered my drink (malibu+crannberry) but forgot my name completely, it was just so funny, great guy. This bar is the best, everybody should check it out. Im away until the end september but I shall return as a "regular".

Just had a party at Mr Dennehy's for my wife's 35th Birthday. Been to the restaurant for dinner a few times, they have a new menus. The food was excellent, presentation was fantastic. I did not feel as though I was in an Irish Pub at all. From the moment I stopped by to inquire about having a private party they were amazing. The manager offered me a great menu with affordable pricing which met my budgeting needs. I had a Vegan and a few Vegetarians who would be attending the party; they accommodated me completely. The night of the party I was anxious that all would go off well. The staff were great, friendly and extremely helpful. The food was fantastic, they out did themselves. Everything went well......Excellent in fact. We all had a great night at the party. So do what I am doing and tell all your friends and colleagues about this place, believe me it is not your average Irish Pub.

I've been going to this place for a while now but alas, no more. firstly the previous review was written by a friend of the owner and a guy who sometimes works there. he gave me his business card, same name. it's a little sad to have to write one's own reviews. i also witnessed the night in question without being connected to either side and the whole episode was, to say the least, at little uncomfortable. it could have been handled a lot better. i like to go to bars and not to have to witness major attitude from owners towards patrons. on a good note, love seems to be blosoming between freilly27 and the chef.

Great little Irish Bar with super friendly and attentive staff. Great place to meet up on the weekends.New chef Bradley Anderson is a genius and someday he'll own this town. I'm a regular there for sports events etc. in fact I was there on new years eve when Wavecat and his obnoxious friends tried to sneak in their own booze. The owner tried everything to accomadate you and your friends!! Perhaps the West Village doesn't need your type either! (next year stay at home and drink your champagne with your friends)

Just what Greenwich Village needs - a typical Irish pub that looks like it was transplanted from Queens or Long Island. Very standard stuff, well-lit, with clean surfaces and sports on the telly. They pour a decent pint and the staff is friendly, but the owner is a nasty s.o.b. Right after midnight on New Year's Eve, he gave my friends and I the boot for sneaking in a bottle of champagne - and that was after we tried to work it out with him. He assessed a $30 corking fee and a 15% tip - and still made us leave. When I told him I would not be back, he said I should "tell all my friends." So that is what I'm doing.

I had a surprise b-day party for my husband in the private room downstairs and it went amazingly well. Frankie and his staff met our every need, and were flexible and fun. We customized the menu (which I changed several times and Frankie was always nice and accommodating), arranged the room the way we wanted including decorations, and stayed late. The food and booze were great. I searched the city looking for the right private location, with the right private room (spacious, clean, pub), the right attitude from staff, the right food/bar set-up - and chose Mr. Dennehy?s. Save yourself the work and just book your private party here. You?ll be glad you did - we were.

I just wanted to let everyone know what a blast we had at Mr Dennehys last week!! It's a top class Bar/Restaurant with a great vibe!! It was a suprise bday party for a close friend so we booked the downstairs room (but you didn't know they had one!!). The staff were super attentive!! Food and drinks were all top class and we were lucky enough to meet the elusive Mr Dennehy (who bought us all a drink)!! When the party was over we went upstairs to the busy bar and continued the festivities into the small hours. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone for any event. We'll be back this weekend for more xxxx

This is a decent Irish Pub although there's nothing in particular that stands out from any other Irish Pub. They have 4 tv's, for sports viewing, 3 of which are flat screens. Prices are okay. The staff is friendly and the food is good although the menu is a little limited. Bathrooms are 1 at a time and there is no jukebox. Atmosphere is a little blase. My girlfriend and I were there for a few hours and buybacks were non-existent.

Whether solo or with a large group, the atmosphere this find has a both casual and upscale feeling that you make you feel instantly at home. The staff proves just what a professional, personable, and polite group of servers is worth while the chefs are relentlessly pursuing perfection in the kitchen for the luxurious menu options.

A great recommendation for Bunch is the Chef's Salad, which has a traditional salad, chopped bacon, chucks of Swiss cheese and literally still steaming grilled chicken, which with a Bloody Mary on a Summer weekend morning in the outside seating area will practically a rejuvenate your soul.

Oh, and you never can tell who will be rubbing elbows with you as you await your Guinness to settle as some celebs are regulars but make interesting company to the star gazing twenty something office crowd in the area.

From the first time I went to Mr. Dennehy's, I became a regular. It's everything an Irish pub should be. The bartenders are friendly and can mix a mean drink, the decor is cozy and clean, and the prices are good. I've been there for mojitos to start off a fun night out and drinking beer on St. Patrick's Day, and the bar was perfect for both.

Great looking Irish public house with excellent food and 2 wide plasma TVs usually broadcasting sports events (from baseball to soccer and everything inbetween). Great ambiance and located off the Houston St stop on the 1 & 9, and West 4th St on the IND lines in Greenwich Village.
