Aileen Balitz is more interested about her reputation in the community than she is about the reputation of St. Camillus. She will deny that staff exhibit and engage in bad behavior and will protect their wrongdoings instead of putting the patients first and being up front about everything that goes wrong there. Aileen Balitz is the reason St. Camillus has a terrible reputation. Abuse by staff, theft, lying. And she is well aware of what goes on. No one ever gets fired. If you want a job and are a dishonest person with no morals, see Aileen Balitz, She will hire you. She is a status seeker who unfortunately hurts the residents of St. Camillus with her twisted priorities. Keep your relatives away from her. She cares about one thing: Aileen Balitz! Your family member or loved one can rot for all she cares. Aileen, why don't you quit trying to pretend St. Camillus is something it isn't and get the place in order? Otherwise, step down. You lie about St. Camillus and anyone who has anything truthful to say about it's faults. There have been actualy crimes that have taken place there but Aileen will cover anything up so her name doesn't get dragged through the mud. Unconscionable and disgraceful to treat our elderly, frail and disabled like this. She is a mess. A poor manager who can't keep staff.

In a word, Aileen Balitz is one angry person. She responds with anger to any kind of conflict and her sidekick, Chad Goodman is the same way. He is the poster boy for needing anger management. Neither of them can take criticism about St. Camillus which shows how defensive they are. A professional should be able to reason things out. I have found Aileen Balitz incapable of such. She is very verbally abusive and her only method for communicating when St. Camillus is called on the carpet is to attack. No wonder both she and Goodman have gotten no where career wise. They are liars to the core. If you are looking for an administrator who is honest and decent, don't look for it in Aileen Balitz. She doesn't know how to tell the truth.

St. Camillus has a terrible training and orientation program for new CNAs and dumps the work of the nurses on the CNAs. The nurses sit on their butts or whine about the CNAs. The CNAs are flung out, right from a classroom, to be used like pack mules. Don't blame the CNAs there -- they are TRYING to work with a group of vicious nurses who can't be bothered to train properly and who think that a 10-week CNA class does EVERYTHING for a new employee. It was a HORRIBLE place to work -- lies, cover-ups, nurses who did everything they could to get rid of SMART Cnas who ASKED QUESTIONS AND OBEYED PROTOCOLS.

Do NOT put your infirm loved one into St. Camillus. As another review on this facility points out, if your loved one cannot speak for himself or herself -- they will NOT be taken care of by the nursing staff properly.

THE CNAs ARE GIVEN TOO MANY PATIENTS TO HANDLE -- WAY WAY TOO MANY, AN IMPOSSIBLE WORK LOAD, AND THE NURSES ARE HORRIBLE, VICIOUS, BACKSTABBING JERKS.

This contains some graphic details and, if you get upset or queasy easily, perhaps you should skip this review but I urge you to at least read the last paragraph.

My mother was taken to St Camillus after two brain aneurisms and two brain operations.

What we experienced was a nightmare. She was allowed to sit in her own urine (she was relearning everything again) for hours. They left her in a wheelchair alone in her room and she often slid down and was most uncomfortable. They made a near grave error and gave her pills by mouth when she was just relearning to swallow and could only swallow soft foods like applesauce. Her medication was to be inserted through her stomach tube.

She ended up aspirating (vomiting then inhaling into her lungs) the pills and was in critical condition and never recovered. She never left the hospital after that and never regained use of her faculties.

It was simply horrendous from the fllthy hallways, to uninformed staff, to the lack of care, to the error that nearly killed my mother.

I have heard some people praise this place for rehabbing. Perhaps those people were there for much less serious rehab and could easily speak up for themselves. Unfortunately, my mother was not one of those people. She did tell a staff member she felt as though she might vomit but they did not take into consideration that she didn't have the ability to get up on her own. They put her to bed, flat on her back so that when she did vomit, she inhaled it back into her lungs.

I am sorry to be graphic but I urge you -- if you have a loved one who has any sort of brain damage and cannot speak for themselves or do things for themselves, look elsewhere for care or be there all the time.

My mother would be alive today is this tragic occurrence had not happened. We were there 20/7. Sadly, it all happened during the four hours of the day and night we couldn't cover on day three of her stay there.

Please, look at the facility, ask questions, go with your gut instinc

PROS: NOT ONE
CONS: Complete disregard for patient safety and comfort
