They may give preferrence to regulars- and well the incredibly rude waitress should be in touch with reality.
For one, I am French, and I'm afraid she is reinforcing the French stereotype of rudeness and lack of hospitality.
Cold, unresponsive, indifferent, unattentive, unpleasant and rude.

In these difficult economic time-I want to spend money where at the very least, I will feel respected as a guest/customer. It makes me sick that I spent money there, although the food was good, the experience ruined the meal.

Even today, in Paris, the service is really good. People are happy to have guests- yet this archaic, out-dated backwards false snobbery is not sophisticated, it is insecure provincial narrow mindedness masked as exclusivity. Shame on them.

Pros: food good

Cons: regret have paid for very unpleasnt service

Decor is charming. Waiters look the part - french, sophisticated. Service is snooty at best. Attention is preferentially given to regulars - maybe that's how they like it. Fare is inconsistent - when you are able to get somebody to listent to your order. Good wine list.

Citysearch has this restaurant with 4$, but the Brunch menu is really a great value. The ambiance is quaint and has the French Bistro feel. The service was good, though not overly friendly. The owner sells his artwork for quite a price, but it is impressive. The portions are generous and this is the best omelet I've had so far in the city.. large, juicy and quite flavorfull!

An incredible meal, both friendly and yummy. Benjamin the bartender was attentive and kind. The Manager also went above and beyond with his guests. The food was fantastic and very authentic. A little on the expensive side, but well worth it. :)

With a spectacular wine list and plenty of charm to spare, this makes for a perfect romantic meal on the Upper East Side. The food is nothing extraordinary, but remains tasty nonetheless. I highly recommend visiting once in a while just to take in the ambience and wine, but the value for the food can probably be found elsewhere.

Nice lively restaurant & bar with good food, generous portion, and nice atmosphere. However the service was unfriendly and slow (the waitress didn't even know which wiskey were available, and we waited a good 20min before they took our plates away). I recomand the place if you don't mind bad service, maybe you will have more luck than us.

This cozy French bistro is the real thing, right down to the lace curtains, the tightly spaced tables and the mirrors tilted so people facing the wall won't miss the action---not to mention the occasional attitude. Start with the onion…
