I haven't tried any of the food except for their cannolis, but the cannolis are some of the best I've ever tasted. I cannot rave enough about them. I enjoyed their espresso as well, and some of the other pastries looked good, though I can't remark on their taste.

Horrible service and pastries

This place is absolutely the worst Italian pastry shop I have ever eaten at. They are also very rude. On the day we ate there as soon as I took the last sip of my coffee the waiter told us that we had to leave! She said that they needed the seats and that the manager told her to tell us and that she she was sorry. I have never been back since then and won't ever go back.

Who used to make TiramisĂș back on 1996 at CafĂ© Palermo?
by Esther R.
Best Tiramis I've ever had when I went to NY in 1996. I also liked lobster tails and the attention from the staff. We had a very special evening at Caf Palermo.

Good but pricey dessert/coffee

Went in solely for the tiramisu, which is supposedly the best in Little Italy. It was good. Best? I'm not sure. Also got a cappuccino. My friend got a Frutti Di Bosco and seemed to enjoy it. The only downside was that the bill was a little higher than I had expected it would be, especially just for some afternoon dessert and coffee. While the desserts are pretty tasty, the value isn't that good.

Do Not Go!
by lauraklipp
With so many great places in Little Italy do not bother with this palce! I ordered a pizza ..they claimed it was fired in a wood stove ..but it was a very small frozen pizza!!!!!! Then I asked for garlic or basil ..ooops they had neither! What italian restaurant does not have any garlic or garlic powder? So that took me back but then I decide to take some cookies home with me ..ok they looked ok so I ordered 12 and it took the guy ..part owner 8 minutes to wait on me.. he then proceeded to use his bare hands to dredge out the cookies! UGHH .. then I was told they were 14 per pound but becuase 2 ( the smallest) were pine nut cookies and they were 24 per pound, that my whole 12 would be charged @ 18 per pound!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I should have just walked out ...

Best Cannoli in classic Little Italy eatery
by sully45
Every year for the last five years, a group of colleagues with spouses take on New York City for client meetings and then a weekend of rest and relaxation. The one place we never miss is Caffee Palermo where we can site outside and enjoy the scenes of Mulberry Street in Little Italy. The real key here is the owner - Jonny Delutro. He is always there making sure every customer is 110% satisfied with his "old school attitude" on service, i.e. that the customer always comes first. It's a place not to miss. You can enjoy various lunch/dinner specials but his Italian pastries and desserts are the best. a few years ago, our group stayed a little too long and we were going to need to get back up to Midtown for a play. John made a few calls and walked us out to two waiting cars for a "no hassle" ride back uptown. Service is what he is all about - it's a must stop.
Pros: Cannoli and service
Cons: none

Was my home when I moved to NY--The Best
by creativelolita
John (the owner) looks like Pacino which was enough to get me in there but I kept coming back for the cannoli's. 5 pounds later, it was time for an intervention. That said, this is THE perfect ending to any meal--you have, have, have to go there. PS I ordered my birthday cake from there one year and it remains the best strawberry shortcake I have ever had.
Pros: So, so good--fresh and authentic
Cons: Their pastries are not fat free!
