I get my color done here as well as my haircuts after my stylist left NYC a year ago and they do a great job. I'm always satisfied with my hair and with the friendliness of the staff.

I had a wonderful experience at Hair 2 Stay. The staff is very friendly. They also opened a new salon in midtown ( 244 West 48th Street off 8th Avenue). This one is closer to my job so it is more convenient. I would recommend it to everyone.

Mary.

I've been going to Hair to Stay for over a decade and I'm always pleased with the outcome. English is limited which is fine. My stylist's name is Lisa but I've also gotten cuts from a number of the staff and every time, it turns out fabulous. They seem to have a particular specialty in straight hair, Asian hair and men's hair, but I've seen them do all kinds really well. The new location is very cool.

i decided to go here since my other hairstylist was away for vacation and it wasnt half as bad. i am always afraid of getting my haircut. the people were nice and asked my question about what i liked my hair to look like. the price was bad at all.

among all the hair salon in chinatown, this one is probably the best in value. most of my friend like the style they get...and around $30 dollars + tips,
where can you find one?

PROS: cheap and nice service
CONS: not the coolest style ...for average look is good.

I rediscovered Hair 2 Stay after I moved back to New York. While previously it was located on the 2nd floor of a building on Canal Street in Chinatown, now it has a ground floor salon on Baxter Street (121A Baxter Streetthe address on insiderpages is wrong). Now it looks much more hip and trendy, without being intimidating. Lisa is still there (I believe she owns it, or is one of the owners), and I recommend her. I work in the non-profit community so I dont make tons of money, but I still need to look professional and good. I paid $30 for my cut (I have long hair), and I was very happy. Much better than the $18 cut I got with a student at the Aveda Institute! You might not get the trendiest haircut (or who knows, maybe you will if you request it), but you will get something that looks good and will last awhile. Note that this salon is in Chinatown, so is probably better with straight hairI dont know how theyd do with curly hair (Lisa is Thai).

PROS: Excellent haircuts, great price
CONS: Might not be good for curly hair
