Quite overpriced, and the over the top lavishness comes across as tacky, and the food was, at best, mediocre. I regret having our reception here.

One of the biggest issues with restaurants in general is that many are not consistent. That's not the case with Salvatore's. Growing up in the restaurant business personally I got to learn and experience first hand what fine dining food and service was all about. I honestly didn't think there was such thing as a restaurant so precise in Buffalo. Everything was on the dime. Service wasn't just professional, it was very personal which I think is a major plus when you go out to dine and spend money. I was able to tell the food was outstandingly fresh, and each dish on their menu is unique in its own way. Another major plus I'd like to add is that the owners and managers are always there working their butts off, on top of that their always greeting people and socializing saying their hellos to the regulars that come in where as most restaurants you don't even know who the owner is and if you do, you'll very rarely see his/her face. Anytime you go you feel your treated special and you'll also feel like your part of the family. And there's also guaranteed live music every Friday and Saturday which makes things that much better. If I had to say one bad thing about this place it would be that the wine list is too big! So many selections and verities I honestly can go there every night for the rest of life and have a different glass of wine and still not try all the selections they have to offer. If you'd like to know the definition of ""fine dining"", don't pick up a dictionary or type it in google...go to Salvatore's and you'll never forget what fine dining means. The Buffalo/WNY area is lucky to have such a place to be entertained and enjoy a meal at any night of the year. Whether I'm taking my clients out to dinner or going out for a regular night out with my family, I will always be a regular here.

I have worked here for 6 months, their isn't one sign that requires the employees to wash their hands, cooks do not sanitize ever, the busboys scratch their ass, pick their nose and cut the bread barehanded for the customers, i was shocked to see how gross the food is handled, we also never washed olive oil containers, bread baskets, and coffee creamer containers... i would personal advise people to think twwice about eating at this dump

last evening, July 23, 2011, my wife and I were at your establishment to celebrate our 34th. Wedding aniversary. Exactly, 34 years ago, we had our wedding reception at Salvatores with fond memories and great food. We were excited to go back again. My wife had the small tenderloin which was delicious. I on the other hand, had the 12 ounce lobster tail for $57.00. Steep price, but once every 34 years, what the hey! When it came it had a tan paste like substance spread across the top of it. Not knowing what it was, I cut it up into bite size pieces for consumption. I was confused as to what it was. The flavor interfered with the taste and the flavor of the lobster. I asked the waitperson what it was and was told it was flavored bread crums. I was confusedand disappointed. I cannot imagine why seasoned bread crumbs would be combined with the taste of the lobster. After all, I paid $57.00 for lobster, not bread crums. I asked the waiter to please tell the chef. The waiter came back and said that the chef shrugged his soldiers and stated that he had heard that complaint before, but he was not empowered to change any recipes without the approval of the Salvatores. He then offered me a different tail. I said no, that was not necessary. In retrospect, i got that one wrong!

It's been a few years since we last visited Salvatore's -- actually it was my mother's last birthday before she passed away. We decided it was time to visit the place of so many family celebrations -- we talked about the food, level of service and quiet, relaxing atmosphere. Hmmmm ... first it was Sunday Brunch - but that was okay -- It is Salvatore's - surely they would not serve the standard buffet fare. To our shock, it was overly crowded with tightly placed tables -- we waited nearly 1 hour beyond our reservation time to be seated. Service was not there -- we had to ask time and again for coffee - our neighboring table actually cleared their own plates. Shame on you Russ Salvatore -- your service and quality of food were the foundation for a terrific experience and, unfortunately, you failed on both levels.

If you want a great relaxing night, if it is just for you and your wife or for a party of business people. It is spot on every time. The staff is great, and the food is incrediable. I have yet to have a bad time, when going to this restaurant.

When it comes to fine dinning Salvatore's is the place. We always take out of town guest into Salvatore's because of how on point they are with everything. Our server was fantastic I also had the pleasure of meeting Mr. salvatore and one of his sons. They were running around the dinning room setting tables. Some lady spilled wine on the table both of them handled with situation like you would not believe. They go to the four people "" why don't you guys take a quick walk when you come back you it will look like nothing has happened."" What a class act the food is fantastic and you can not beat the over all experience.

Salvatores has always been our "special event" restaurant. While there are very expensive options for the discriminating diner, there is also a 3-course dinner for $30 which includes some of their top menu items. Everything we have ever ordered has been delicious. The steaks are always extremely tender and perfectly prepared. The servings are a nice size (the lasagna covered the dinner plate). And the bruschetta bread alone is worth the trip!

We had dinner Saturday night at Salvatore'sItalian Gardens. The bartender was arrogant, and actually insulted my taste in wine!! We were seated promptly, but the waitress was more interested in selling the most expensive dish on the menu than on actually serving us. She was inattentive...we had to ask for bread. While the food was tasty, the ""attitude"" more than offset what should have been an elegant and enjoyable fine dining experience. I won't go back there, even WITH a gift certificate.

If you want to feel pampered and special go to Salvatores for dinner and enjoy the Garden Place Hotel afterwards. It's wonderful and we make it a point to enjoy a "package" overnight at least once a year. May be pricey for some, but well worth it and the food and service is by far one of the best.

Salvatores has great atmosphere and awesome food. Not to mention service with style! I would not agree with anyone who said it's not a kids place. My daughter has gone there since she was 3. Infact, she chose it for her 8th birthday dinner. They went out of there way to make it special like they ALWAYS do. I have so many family memories... Grams 90th b-day, my wedding dinner, and many more. You get what you pay for and coupon clippers don't belong here. We work hard and when we do go out we love it here because we know we get our moneys worth.

We went for our wedding anniversary...someone had gotten us a gift certificate. Granted with the dinner and hotel package, you had to choose off of a seperate menu. I got the prime rib, I remember the carrots being very good, the rib was also good. I ordered it med rare.....bad choice...I got soo sick, I cant even tell you what my husband ordered. While I was sick in our hotel bathroom, my husband was in the jacuzzi alone, with the bottle of champagne. I second the motion that the resturant was very dark, we waited about 30 minutes for a seat, with reservations to boot. The waitress caught us off color, when as it seems...we didnt leave her a big enough tip. Then gentlemen in the resturant were very nice. However, my biggest criticism of the entire experience, we got looks from people because my husband is black. Which was in no way appreciated. The breakfast the next morning @ the hotel was ok too. Would I go again? Yeah sure, with another gift certificate. I wouldnt pay for if myself.

The past Sept.11 I went with my girlfriend to this restaurant thinking that it would be good & romantic for the critics that I have read in this page, only one bad comment (until now! ). But the truth is I'm wrong:\r\n\r\n-The wait staff received us with bad face and poor courtesy. While we entered the restaurant, the maitre just raised his eyebrow, stared at us, and waited for us to ""report"" to him why we were there. To show that we had a reservation, I offered my last name to him. He came up with a very strange pronunciation and he didn't give a hoot. Although we have reserved a table, they did not prepare anything. \r\n-The atmosphere was so dark that you could hardly read the menu. Maybe they need to use all the electricity outside because inside of the 'dungeon' they use very very low lights. The hall it's like a horrible wax museum (maybe the latex statues would be previous clients, I don't know).\r\n- The food seemed so so and the only thought I had in that moment, was to escape from there.\r\n\r\nMy recommendation: Don't go!

I go to Salvatores with a date because I enjoy getting dressed up for an evening of dining and dancing. While it's not required to wear a dinner jacket I usually wear a vest and long sleeve dress shirt. I like this type of atmosphere and if someone wants to wear flip flops and jeans with holes in them out in the evening they should definately go elsewhere. I want to enjoy a classy atmosphere at a reasonable cost. And, I want to be arround others who are on the same page. I really enjoy the dance bands there and while the dance floor is sometimes too small I will keep going there when I have someone special go go with. If it was up to me a dress code would be strictly enforced at the door.

I belong to a group who insist on meeting here. I have never been impressed with the food and the wait staff needs a few lessons in courtesy and efficiency. I am offended by the decor, which lacks taste, is over-priced and over the top. Would not return there on my own but have been outvoted by those lacking refinement.

My first dining experience at Salvatore?s was preceded by a 3hr flight delay. My fiance is a native western New Yorker and I was coming to visit him for the first time. Despite my flight?s delay and us showing at Salvatore?s minutes after midnight, the restaurant was waiting for us! The chef knew in advance about our favorite tastes and ready for us to order any dish from our collection of favourites. The staff was beyond attentive. Their meticulous knowledge of table manners and serving has been one of the best I?ve experienced in the United States. The food was spectacular. The ?sparkly sky? at the restaurant added its charm, and the collection of sculptured and antique cars could only be admired by adding to the ambiance. Salvatore?s has become my favourite restaurant of western New York. I have noticed that on earlier nights, without flight delays, we can enjoy life music accompanying us to our dinners.

Salvatores is dinning at it's finest. Subperb customer service and food.I would not say it's not for children. It's for well behaved children with good taste! My daughter's first dinning experience was when she was three. She is now 7 and it is her number one choice on her Birthday.Thank you for the many family memories! There's not a better place in Buffalo!

I don't understand how one restaurant can be viewed by patrons in completely opposite ways! So ....is it refined, grand and luxurious? Or is it tacky, as some people have suggested. The only tacky thing is the restaurant making souvenirs for sale for customers on the way out. That's it! Everything else is beautiful! When I'm in there I feel like I'm in another world. And, in fact, I have visited restaurants all over the world. Do you like superb service, an extensive menu of quality food, plush decor, and Vegas type entertainment on the weekends? This is it! When I'm done dining there, I know I've been out for an evening! It is the opposite of mundane and ordinary. It is an EXPERIENCE!

Not only is Salvatores extremely over priced it is completely tacky. You walk up to the doors and there is a giant ceramic buffalo sitting reading a book. You then go inside and all over the place are weird fake people making goofy faces. The bathrooms are lined with barbie dolls and strange little baby figurines. Not knowing anything about this place we went in flip flops since it is summer and we were coming from the movies. They were going to refuse to seat us even though there was no mention of a dress code when the reservations were made. They finally did after saying we were from out of town. The food was decent, but not worth the couple hundred dollars spent on it. Worse, while walking to the bathroom I heard the person who let us in bad mouthing us to some other employees. If you are trying to be a four star restaurant get rid of all the garage sale stuff lying around.

PROS: the desert was good
CONS: Tacky, rude, and overpriced

Salvatores Italian Gardens is an overall good restaurant. The surroundings are beautiful with panted ceiling of the sky. The stars above twinkle while you enjoy your meal. Although I got a bad table where waiters kept bumping behind me, making it alittle uncomfortable. I had to stare at dirty plates that were finished by other people on the tray next to my table, It was quite disturbing. The food was good and the plates varied from color to different shapes, the dishes looked great. The restrooms are clean and fancy. My overall rating is yes i would recommend Salvatores to anyone with a little cash in their wallet or purse.

If you want to see overly done glitz of old cars with loud music then come to Salvatores Italian Gardens. The staff was very accomodating, but the food was fair. However, Idid enjoy dancing to frank sinatra. The chicken parm could have been cooked longer..

My wife and I have dined at Salvatores at least 30 times in the past five years.\nHaving dined in Asia, Europe, Quebec City, Montreal and Toronto, I find Salvatore's\neven higher than world class. \n With attention to the most minute of details, the Salvatore's have created an unparalleled dining experience. We love the ambience and decor, and the bartenders and staff are superb! Don't arrive in tennis shoes or shorts, as some have apparently done.\n The package that includes a stay at Salvatore's Hotel and a dinner\nfor two at the restaurant is a supreme value for any couple.\n

I have gone to Salvatore's with my wife at least twice every year for the past 8 years. I have never had a bad experience. I keep going back because I feel I don't have to worry about food quality, service, ambience, or any other problem. I know when I go we will love the food and have a great time.

Pros: Live Music on weekend

I only went to the restaurant twice. I would never go back. The food is only average but extremely overpriced. The decor is much too gaudy for my taste. I've had better meals at lesser priced restaurants. I don't understand why some people are impressed with Salvatore's. It is very tacky and very overpriced. The food is not remarkable.

This place is not a true representation of Buffalo's fantastic restaurants that we are known for. For the price, I could name at least a dozen other restaurants with better food, service and ambience. If your visiting the area try Hutch's, Baccus, Left Bank...I could go on. Unless you are looking for severly overpriced, tacky restaurant to bring a friend or loved one, I wouldn't reccomend this place .

Are you kidding me? This is the tackiest, most horendous place on earth. It belongs somwhere in Jersey next to a diner. The wine list is a joke, the food is mediocre at best and the service is plain dumb.

This is like Las Vegas in Buffalo, with good USDA Prime steaks and lobster tails.\n\nThe only dining spot in Buffalo that is worth writing home about.

If you're looking for a nice night out, this is the place. There are some things to keep in mind though when dining here. First off, make reservations, but don't expect to get a table for the time you set the reservations for, expect to get seated at least 45 min. later than your reservation on the weekend. Next off, don't expect the waiters to bombard your table every two min. you'll need to speak up when your glass is empty because they aren't overly attentive to your drinking needs.\n\nOverall I think this is a great place to take clients or a spouse to celebrate with limited interuptions. \n\n

Anyone who thinks this is atreat of a restaurant is sorely mistaken! The food is weak and the service is poor. As an Italian American I am insulted to have this trite fare included among fine dining restaurants.

This restaurant which usually apprears on all kinds of top ten lists in Buffalo is the most over rated joint in town. The atmosphere is tacky and the food is mediocre at best. Salvatore's Italian Gardens is the Libarace of the Italian dining world without the piano!
