LOVE, LOVE FRIENDLY HONDA! Just purchased a new Honda Accord and the entire process was great. Before I came to Friendly I was dreading the process of buying a new vehicle...pushy salesman, try to sell you accessories you don't need, etc...I was extremely surprised this didn't happen!! In fact, the salesman, John was awesome. Very knowledgeable and of course very FRIENDLY. Would definitely recommend Friendly and will definitely buy by next vehicle from here too!

---- Note: Before I posted this, I sent this content to the GM of Friendly Honda. There was no response ----

By appointment, I brought my CR-V to Friendly Honda for AC noise problem at 7AM, Jul 27, 2010. I told the guy at the service desk about the problem, and that I needed an estimate and would be waiting in the waiting area. There are two waiting rooms adjacent to each other. I stayed in the kids waiting room as it was quiet (no children early in the morning). For 2 hours (7AM - 9AM), I sat there and did work on my Laptop, half of the time I was on phone. No one came to talk to me, and I did NOT leave the room during those 2 hours.

Shortly after 9AM, I went to the service desk area, and asked about the status. The same guy told me that the car was still being checked. A little frustrated, I told him I had to leave, and I left my cell phone # with him for him to call with the estimate. I returned to the waiting room, called a ride, and left the shop at 9:30AM.

By 11:30AM, I received a call from the guy, saying the car was ready, and that they changed the AC compressor and the cost was $1600! I said, You must be kidding. I asked for an estimate, and you neither provided one, nor was there a description of the problem found, nor any discussion on options for repair, nor an authorization from me to go ahead, now you are telling me it's done and wanted me to pay $1600?

The guy said, Well, I did talk to you at 7:30 and you authorized it! That was totally untrue. Seeing the conversation going nowhere, I asked to talk to the manager who go on the line after about 10min, and said she overheard that I authorized the repair!! HOW OUTRAGEOUS! The rest was pretty ugly. But I made it clear that it was unacceptable. She backed off to talk to the general manager. She called back after about 15min, saying Friendly would put the old compressor back.

The incident didn't do tremendous damage other than wasting several hours of my time (2.5 hour for me, and 1 hour wait at the end of the day for my wife when picking up). But the way this shop handled the customer is appalling. How on earth could the guy fabricate such a thing while it never happened, and there is a "manager" who stood by him and claimed she OVERHEARD a conversation which had never occurred!!

One very simple check, if Friendly Honda is sincere in clarifying this matter, would be to look at their surveillance video in the service desk area, which would tell the truth whether around 7:30AM there is such a conversation or if I EVER appeared in the service desk area between 7-9. I would be curious to see a response from Friendly Honda after they conduct such a check.

My advice to the fellow customers would be to watch out when you visit this facility. Make sure that you obtain and agree to the estimate before authorizing the work. Also check out consumer protection sites such as below for your rights/protection.

I bought a 2006 Honda Accord at Friendly Honda , a couple weeks after I purchase the car the car brakes were rubbing, took it back they informed me that it was the rotary and that they took care of it. I still continue to have the problem with the brake. Following the above, the car started to vibrate, took the car in they said they could not find anything wrong with the car. Two months after we bought the car, the car died while I was shopping. I had my car towed to Friendly Honda where they performed their "diagnostic testing" they informed me that they did not know what was wrong with the car at first and then informed me later that there was a computer problem with the car and I had to pay $500, I told them I was not paying the $500 and fought them to cover the above. In the end I won but only because the National Honda agreed to pay half of the cost. Six months after the above, I had to replace all 4 tires as the tires were not good, and my brakes are still rubbing together even worse than before which means that next visit will be new brakes. My only hope is that once my warranty is up I will be done with Friendly Honda. Be forewarned that Friendly honda is not really Friendly Honda!

The service manager is rude and obnoxious, the used car dealer manager does not return your call when there is complaints with used car purchase. The owner, I have never seen and I wonder if he is aware of the problem.
