If an element of the consumer experience is to be treated courteously, 99 Cents the Limit Incorporated has not even reached the starting point. Entering the store I was asked to check my personal bag. I explained that it carried my valuables. That got me nowhere. I asked for a receipt assuring me that management would be responsible for any loss or theft or return of stolen cash but was refused. When I asked to be directed to the management, the custodian who was making it difficult for me to enter asserted that he was the owner. I decided the best consumer experience I could have would be to leave. Which I did.

If you want anything for $1 or less stick to a dollar store. This store should change its name to "prices are 99 cents over the limit" or "99 cents no longer the limit."
Recently, everything that I always bought has gone up to $1.09 or higher.
Also, a large percentage of the store is dedicated to items priced at $1.49 or $1.99 and the dairy items typically expire within 2 weeks.
In January, the owner responded to my complaints of higher prices by stating "Everything that was 99 cents will remain the same price, but the stuff that is higher priced is entirely new things only." In April He Called me A LIAR and said "I said no such thing, What do you expect, costs are up, gas prices are up, everything goes up everywhere."

This store carries thousands of items all for 99 cents or less. However, you are not dealing with junk merchandise, many of of their items are name brands, I don' know how they do it.

From school supplies to food, both kosher and not kosher, including frozen foods and packaged meats, they carry it all. They have toys, hair goods, socks, underwear, kids books, seasonable items, a variety of cleaning items, candles, towels, foods like , cereal, juices, sun glasses, lighters, hardware items, paper goods, sewing items, candies, cookies, canned foods clothing items, baby items, make up, they carry it all. They have the biggest selection of a 99 cent store I have ever seen, and nothing is more than 99 cents, often prices 2 or 3 or more for 99 cents.

They are generally the first store I think of to buy stuff like school supplies, soap, detergent, hair items, etc. They have an adjacent parking lot with free parking, on one of the busiest streets in Brooklyn, and that parking lot is a rarity here. They are forever filling in stock and if you can think of an item you need, they probably carry it.

PROS: Huge variety of merchandise including brand names
CONS: Sometimes their help is a little hard to understand language wise
