I agree with the other reviewer that this company is "aggressive" in its billing: they insisted that I pay $500 up front and that they would refund the excess later. Instead, they deposited my check immediately, then sent an invoice demanding more money, because despite their own record that their plumbers had spent less than 2 hours in travel plus labor, they charged me for 3 hours. At $160 per hour (one junior plumber, one senior), plus sales tax, that totaled over $500. Obviously I would have been better off using the plumbing service from Home Depot, where I bought the appliance, as they charge approx. $340 and do not give you this kind of problem.
When I called to ask about the invoice, the woman at A. Steinman claimed that it was the 2 hours that was a mistake, and that it actually had been 3 hours. I tracked how long it was between my calling the company and the arrival of the plumbers: 20 minutes. That means travel time could not be more than 20 minutes to my apartment. They spent another 20 minutes installing the new stove, so assuming 20 min in return travel, that's one hour. They spent even less time here when they disconnected the old stove. The woman claimed that the workers had been kept waiting at my building -- even though the front desk sent them up as soon as they arrived (and have the security videos to show arrival and departure times).
This is the first time I ever have reviewed a company on Citysearch, but this is the absolute worst treatment I have received, and the most expensive. Nor did the plumbers do a good job: they didn't level the gas range, so it tips toward the front, which means food cooked on the stove top isn't cooking evenly. A horrible, horrible experience all around.

They have an elderly woman who answers the phone and lacks customer service skills. When I disputed the charge, she reacted very defensively. They must not have thought that the owner was in the unit observing the amount of time they were actually working. The company argues that they add billable time for transportation costs (in this case, $140), but they still seem to have padded aggressively.
