I have been going there for more than 10 years. we love our doctor, he's been seeing my kids since they were new born. the ladies at the front desk are usually very nice and friendly. we are generally happy with the care they provide. however, there are a few things that REALLY bothering me. first is i feel like there's no privacy regarding my health information. I don't like the fact that the receptionists have an access to my health file. whenever i call to make an appointment with the doctor, i have to tell the receptionist about my problems which i never feel comfortable doing so. i mean if it's about my kids cough or cold, then it's fine, but a lot of time there are issues that i only want to discuss with my doctor, but the receptionists always have me describe it to them. why do i have to tell them that i have the UTI? for instance. second, i feel like it's so difficult to get my doctor to call me a bout my conditions and concern without going through the receptionist "screening" my calls. a few days ago i received a letter from my doctor about my lab result which i need an explaination from him. so i called the office telling the receptionist that i need an explanation from my doctor. she asked me what kind of questions i have..feeling that i didn't want to discuss my health issues with the receptionist, i told her that i have questions about my lab result. She immediately pulled up my file and read my lab result and asked me which part of it that i didn't understand...i felt reallly humiliated that she: 1st, read my file, and 2nd, assumed that my concern about my health doesn't worth my doctor's attention. why is it so difficult to have my doctor return my call and answer a few questions. she even suggested that i make an appointment to come discuss with the doctor about the letter in the office!!! I only need 2 mins. of my doctor, but she wants me to drive 20 mins and spend at least an hour there plus another $15 co-pay.
Where is my privacy? why do my health information is easily access by the office receptionists? why can't i have my doctor explain the lab result with me on the phone?

This practice is the standard family practice mill.
You get very limited attention by the physician as
they are typing information into a computer while
you're discussing health issues. Maybe they can
process information and type at the same time,
but I find it a bit disconcerting and feel like I
don't have the doctor's full attention.

My whole family receives care at Dryden Family Medicine and we have been with them for about 6 years. The doctor's really take the time to get to know you as a whole person not just a medical condition. They have been excellent with after hours calls and care. The office staff is very pleasant and easy to work with. My only complaint is sometimes they run behind schedule- but what doctor's office doesn't. They also have a lab for blood work and an x-ray machine on-site. This is a lifesaver when you have a sick child. When my daughter had pneumonia having an x-ray available right away saved me a night in the ER.
