My buddies and I stumbled across this Brooklyn bar the other night when we were out and about just looking for an easy dinner. This really fit the bill-super relaxed vibe-just our style. We all had burgers, which were very very tasty,

Not a bad spot to have a bite but quiet pricey. Would probably not go back because of it, would rather go somewhere else thats not so expensive for regular food

I want to like 12th street bar & grill, for it's nice atmosphere, pretty little location, etc. But the food was just not that inspiring. And that's important to me.

Very quaint and cozy atmosphere. The food was tasty and we experienced great service. The space is small, but we did not experience any wait time. A little off the beaten path so it has a quieter feel. We enjoyed our meal and experience there.

My partner and I used the 12th Street Bar and Grill as a reception location for our wedding and found the owner and staff to be reliable, fair and supportive. He worked with our budget and special requests and kept everything simple and straightforward. Although we did not have an open bar and needed to keep our costs down, he was understanding and treated us respectfully. The atmosphere in the restaurant was classy, elegant and cozy, seating 50 people. Our guests later showered us with compliments on the food, the restaurant and the party. Highly recommended for small parties!

Discovered this restaurant this week and was quite surprised. What a gem. The food was just amazing, try the curry mussels and duck spring roll. The buccatini pasta was excellent with sundried tomato, roasted cauliflower and black olives. Very friendly and attentive wait staff that made us feel very comfortable and relaxed. The decor was very warm with some very kool music that wasn't to loud.
Will be back again and again.

I moved into the Slope this past summer and fell upon this place one night and have been coming ever since. This restaurant has excellent food, the curry mussels and crab cake are sooooooo good. In my opinion they have the best burger in New York and is always cooked to perfection. The staff is very friendly and even when the place is crowded, which is often, ( I suggest reservations on the weekend) the service is good. Great atmosphere and good wine!!! A very relaxing place with class.

After reading citysearch reviews on this restaurant I decided to try it and have to say this place is outstanding.
From the moment you walk in the main dining room, the host and waitstaff are very attentive and friendly making you feel welcome and comfortable. The decor has a warm and relaxing feel, topped off with very cool music. Our meal was excellent, try the curry mussels, to die for and the Hanger Steak. They have a great selection of wine at very reasonable prices. They have their own pastry chef and the desserts were great. After dinner we went into their seperate bar area and were delighted to hear that they serve the same menu in a very casual and hip atmosphere.
Difinitely a new favorite for us, and I can't wait to try their brunch.

We just had bar none, the worst dining experience we have had in NYC. Terrible food - only outdone by the breathtakingly bad service. The fish was old, other parts of the meal were undercooked, and the service was amazingly bad. We will not return. Ever.

Showed up without a resorvation on New Years Eve. Was lucky enough to get the last open table in the corner. (Very cozy spot.) Greeted plesently and enjoyed excellent service throughout the night. (Suprising considering the place was jammed.) The food was great- i would reccomend the mussel appertizer I had. After we had our fabulous dinner we unexpectedly stumbled into their cozy neighborhood bar next door which had a fantastic D.J.... great atmosphere, great vibe. HIGHLY RECOMENDED !!

That last review sounded more like SOMEONE with an ax to grind, (maybe disgruntled employee) or you went to a different 12th Street. I have been to 12th Street on many occassions, and the new owners have done an amazing job in turning this restaurant around. The food is excellent and the service is the best that it has ever been. The old attitudes are gone and in its place are some warm friendly faces. Park Slope dining has never been better and the prices are very reasonable. The atmosphere of the dining room, quality food, and extensive wine list make this old favorite the new spot to be. Thank you 12th Street.

BEFORE the new owners my husband and enjoyed 12th Street's food (even though last year I got sick from eating their mussels), service and decor. HOWEVER, a couple weeks ago we returned and were SHOCKED BY THE TERRIBLE SERVICE. The waiter never checked on us once and was incredibly rude in general. With new ownership the general look and feel has changed from a quaint yet sophisticated neighborhood establishment to one with no design taste and character. Also the clientele has changed - seemed bridge and tunnel and NOT PARK SLOPE!?! So sad to have lost a neighborhood spot.

12th Street is one of those great places you can go to eat in style (well, for Park Slope anyway) or grab a burger at their bar around the corner. The food is always reliable and delicious not to mention it looks like the chef cares about what departs through those swinging kitchen doors. Let's talk about the dessert first though - I went on a recent Father's Day and to my surprise was seated promptly even though the place was packed. (We happened to get the only free table at 2pm.) Ok, back to dessert - Peach and blueberry cobbler. Neither of these fruits am I crazy about but guess what - I am a turned woman. No dessert has ever tasted to real and so perfectly balanced. I actually felt I was doing something good for my health by eating that warm, granola laden bowl of tangy and sweet fruit! Prior to dessert I had a simple chicken and avocado triple decker with fries and wow - they know how to balance the salt and spice to make everything nice in that 7-grain (toasted thank you very much!) sandwich. Every other time I have been to this establishment I have had nothing but great service, and good food. Three thumbs up.

Pros: Food, service, cleanliness, interior lighting

Cons: Outside lights that blare into the large front windows of the bar

Today I threw a bridal shower for my sister here and I couldn't have been happier with the way everything turned out. First, the space is great, bright and intimate - its so nice to have the whole place to yourself. The food was EXCELLENT. I have eaten here many times and am never disappointed, and today was no exception. The service was impeccable, no one waited for ANYTHING and the servers were attentive and friendly. The management was also accomodating when I requested a last minute menu change - they made it happen with a smile and never made me feel like I was putting them out. I would highly recommend the 12th street Grill for an event and of course for dinner. They have a wonderful prix fixe on Monday and Tuesday nights. Thank you 12th Street for helping to make the party such a success!

I was reading some of the latest reviews about this place. They are all good but one, and I totally disagree with that person. I am a steady customer there and I think the new owners are wonderful. The place looks great and the food has never been better. The whole staff and new changes are a breath of fresh air to this ever growing great neighborhood.

I went to a number of different places for dinner during the recent Dine in Brooklyn and 12th Street was my favorite. The special menu was by far the best that I tried. The Spicy Calamari appetizer was amazing and the VIetnamese Basa fillet was excellent. The Pastry Chef's Almond Torone was the most pleasant ending to a wonderful meal. The service was friendly and attentive which is rare considering how crowded it was. This treasure in Park Slope will not dissappoint !!!!

Have been coming to 12th Street for many years and the recent changes are wonderful. The dining room and bar have had a trendy facelift which are warm and inviting. The food is very good and the new wine list is excellent. Whatever the cause, Bravo!!

My husband and I decided to revisit this restaurant this weekend and was so pleased that things changed in every aspect. We've heard the place recently got new owners and a facelift. I't was GREAT. We were greeted at the door by one of the owners and felt comfortable the second we walked in. The service, new wine list and food (especially the fish! I'll give you an inside tip: one of the new owners has his own import fish company) was amazing. The side Bar was also renovated nicely. Even the class of people changed, I guess to the new trendy look. If your in Park Slope, try this one you will not be disappointed. A+++

I've eaten in both the Restaurant and little bar in the back a few times. The food is always good. I love the grilled steak dinner as well as the burger (with bleu cheese and bacon of course). On the apps I recommend the flat bread with goat cheese. I'm not a big "fry guy" except for when they're done right and here is one place that does them right... along with their potato chips. My only complaint is in the front I don't believe you can get a draft beer... Guinnness, and in the bar sometimes the service is a bit slow and you're never quite sure if you have to order at the bar when sitting at a table. However that's not going to stop me from repeatly going back.

I haven't been here in a while and decided to try it again as I heard that there were new owners and the place was redone. We had a wonderful dining experience, great food, excellent wine, and good service. Everyone was very friendly and inviting, and it was very relaxing. Chef Vicino's food is excellent and we will be coming again and again.

My husband and I used to like this restaraunt very much. The ambiance and the menu are quite nice. A few months ago, we went in for brunch and were not approached for about 20 minutes, and decided to leave and never to return. Against better judgement, we tried once more today. Although the food is "okay", the service is pretty much nonexistent. We walked in and one of the servers was on the phone at the front, not even taking a moment to acknowledge us standing there. We were then seated by someone else, yet not approached at the table for at least 10 minutes. We had to ask for coffee, my order was placed incorrectly, and we were not approached once during our meal. We were disappointed once again, and will not return. Seems to be no standards for customer service at 12th Street Bar & Grill. What a shame.

WE ONLY WENT THERE ONCE. THE ZUCCHINE FLOWERS WERE EXCELLENT. I CAN'T WAIT TO GO FOR BRUNCH. I WAS PLEASANTLY SURPRISED AT THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF FOOD. THE SERVICE WAS VERY GOOD, NOT GREAT, BUT I HATE WHEN THEY STAND OVER YOU AND THEY GAVE US AMPLE TIME TO ENJOY OUR MEAL WITHOUT BOTHERING US. OVERALL, I WILL DEFINITELY GO BACK.

Though a little pricey for take out, I was very happy with my order from 12th Street. The food took approximately 20 minutes to be prepared. We had the tuna steak sandwich, the crab cake appetizer and the endive/arugula salad. The tuna was delicious, as were the accompanying homemade potato chips. The crab cake was equally satisfying. As for the salad, it was fresh and good, but nothing too special. I'm looking forward to sitting down there soon, as the interior was very attractive.

No need to be down on the 12th street. Just because the bar is so-so is no reason to get down on a very good restaurant. Get the mussels. They are very good. You'll have to get extra bread to sop up the sauce. The tuna steak sandwich is also very good. We've always had great servers and a great time. A very good place for a quiet dinner with someone you like.

I love this restaurant because it serves great food in a classy, yet homelike environment. The prices are somewhat expensive, but on certain days they have a prix-fixe menu: a 3-course meal (appetizer, entree, and dessert) for only $20. For dessert, you must try the blueberry coconut crumble--it's to die for!

We visited the 12th Street Grill during "Dine-In Brooklyn" week. Even the 19.55 prix fixe menu was appetizing. However, that is the end of the positives. It took an hour for our first course to arrive and the server blamed it on the kitchen. She probably forgot we were sitting there as she was extremely busy socializing with her coworkers. The meal itself was not very good, either. The swordfish was slimy and tasteless, the artichoke was bland and the strawberries had nearly gone bad. We expected during "Dine-In Brooklyn" food would be of lower quality than on an ordinary night, but they surpassed even our lowest expectations. Lastly, our server's shift must have ended and she failed to notify us that she was leaving. We were passed on to an equally incompetent server who forgot my husband's dessert. Overall, a very bad experience.

I hate the bar half of this establishment. I live across the street from it. 12th Street attracts the most obnoxious frat trash. The staff certainly don't have much of a "good neighbor" policy in keeping the noise down or keeping drunk patrons from pissing on neighboring buildings. Even better, they've started having live music until about 1 a.m. every Tuesday! (The band is positioned in front of the windows, in a space roughly the size of a living room.)

This place has gone straight down hill. I went on a Tuesday night and have never had such poor service or been treated so badly in a place where I am spending my hard-earned money. I used to love this place but unless there are some serious changes I can't see myself ever returning.

Unless you enjoy paying for watered down, "over-priced for Brooklyn" swill served by openly apathetic and/or abusive, psycho-Nazi bartenders in a "dive" environment full of obvious losers then you should take your business elsewhere. There are far too many great places in Brooklyn to bother with this rathole. Simply put - IT SUCKS !!! First and last visit !

For basically a bar, this place has great food -- the homemade potato chips are awesome! And the ambience is very cool, stop by on a Saturday afternoon and you can play some old school games while having a beer.

I've been going here since they opened. One of the best brunches in town. I must admit, I'm a bit bored with the menu because I've been there so many times. Nice, varied, consistant menu and service. Reasonably priced and reasonable wine list. The only thing bad is that it's so consistant!! Sometimes you have to wait, but at least they are friendly! Top 10 Park Slope. Don't listen to anyone who says it's bland or snobby (ha!), MAYBE I wouln't travel across the river for it, but it is certainly worth checking out!

Nothing too splashy, but good food, and consistant quality. The seafood is fresh, and if all else fails, the burgers are great.

good small bar with good friendly bartenders with excellent music taste, some days a nice Virginan works.

Great food, made in the restaurant next door is brought over, so you get a nice small bar with great food.

Sometimes the sports bar thing starts to takeover, but with more artsy people movin in, that will change.

Its ok for a local joint but the food is very boring & seems to be churned out without innovation. Been twice in the last couple of weeks & felt let down, it looks like it should be better & the service is pretty good.

Its ok for a local joint but the food is very boring & seems to be churned out without innovation. Been twice in the last couple of weeks & felt let down, it looks like it should be better & the service is pretty good.

.

Maybe it's because I'm lazy (I live on the same block) but I can't get enough of this place. The food is amazing, we usually get great service, and the prices (especially the amazing Sunday brunch) are very reasonable. I have yet to find a better restaurant in Brooklyn.
