Like the previous reviewer said, this library is home to the world's largest concentration of Russian immigrants outside of Russia. (I believe it's in the Guinness Book of World Records)

While it is a small library, with limited resources (small number of fiction & non-fiction books), decent amount of reference materials in Russian & English & other languages, plus computer access, it does have some perks. Walk down the block, stand at the railing and you can actually see and taste the water of Brighton Beach right before your eyes! Anytime I come to Brighton Beach I always gawk at the water. It's so beautiful and feels great (especially in the summertime), but it can get freezing down here in the Fall & Winter because of that same proximity to the water.

Additionally, there are many programs and classes that meet here weekly: ESOL (English as A Second Language), Tutoring, Games for teens, movie screenings (not current movies). There's a bustling senior community here and they benefit from many activities the library provides.

PROS: Brighton Beach at its doorsteps, Community Programs
CONS:

The Brighton Beach brand of the Brooklyn Public Library is one of the smaller libraries around in Brooklyn, but it still has a wide variety of books. There are tons of Russian movies, newspapers, and literature considering the Brighton Beach has the Russian population in Brooklyn. The staff here is very friendly and will help you find what you need.
