What's the difference between a wax, a pomade and a cream? Which product will eliminate flyaway, static hair? My hair is fine and color treated, which shampoo should I use? The staff at Deja Vous Salon does The salon caters to both men and women working professionals. It is known throughout midtown for beautiful hair cutting and styling, and for retail. I have been growing out my bob since summer and was totally pysched to get a new hair cut, read the CitySearch reviews for this place... and left completely devastated and confused.
I should have walked out when they tried to walk me straight back to get my hair shampooed without even talking to my stylist, but I just sweetly asked to talk to him/her and they came over pretty soon. However, they didn't take me back to their chair so we could have a thorough discussion about what I wanted. Instead we had a quick conversation next to the sink, which evidently was a huge miscommunication.
One of those situations where the stylist had an idea of how they wanted to chop your hair and not listening to what you needed, which for me was a new "in-between" look while I grew my hair out.
In short, I walked out with the exact same haircut I had last summer!!
I give two stars since the hair cut was good, but exactly what I didn't want. So after after I wait again for several months, I will pay the extra money to go somewhere else to get a real consultation and new look. Don't learn my lesson the hard way - I'm totally bummed :(
Pros: Fast and Cheap
Cons: Consultation Upon Request?

My friend recommended the place to me and she had a gorgeous cut. I was scared when I arrived because the place is an absolute madhouse. Packed with people, hair dryers blasting, loud music- you name it. BUT I walked out of there with the greatest haircut I have had in years. Adam is a wonerkind.
Pros: price, skill, variety of hair products available
Cons: frantically busy, kind of bossy hairwashers

Our stylist, Lucky, was patient as well as skilled. My daughter really felt secure, as if the stylist really listened to her. The results are amazing. Her cut and style are exactly what SHE had in mind. Mom thinks she is as beautiful as ever. Thanks for the terrific job!

This was my first time visiting a hair salon in New York because I have just moved here from the UK. I was very dubious about visiting a salon after having the same hairdresser for years. However, I decided to visit after reading the reviews on this website, the staff were all very friendly and I discussed what I wanted with a hair stylist before it was highlighted and cut. No effort is spared on cutting and blow-drying your hair, I would definitely go back and get my hair done again!! Right after I had my hair done, I was asked by a woman in Macys where I got my hair done in the city because it looked so good!!
Pros: very good blow-dry,

Eli did an AMAZING job transforming my hair into the most beautiful shade of blonde. I am always treated very well, and have no trouble making appts. to properly maintain my hair. I originally went to Dejavous weekly for the BEST blowdry in NYC (or anywhere!), and soon after hair cut and color as well! If you need a color correction, or just want something new---this is the place to go! :)) Seriously...Eli will make sure you are happy.
Pros: Not too high in price, so you can properly maintain your hair on a regular basis
Cons: No Cons---they are fantastic!

I went to Deja Vous because I was recommended by a friend to go there to get my thick, frizzy hair blown out. Eli did such an amazing job; my hair was sleek and voluminous. The best part was that is rained that afternoon, and my hair remained beautiful! I will definitely go back for future fabulous hair days.
