Food was better than expected for a hibachi show restaurant, with the exception of the fried rice which did not have any vegetables and was not cooked properly. [I got the steak & lobster combo for $29 +$3 for fried rice].

The servers were friendly, and the price fair, but we definitely felt rushed when the busboy brought takeout plates over about 10 minutes after the main course was served. This was not even a peak day/time so I found this annoying.

Overall, it was my daughter's 13th birthday and she enjoyed, so I would back for a kid friendly outing, but not an adult outing.

This was a good hibachi spot to go to especially if you dont want to drive to the city. It gets very crowded but there you are seated quickly. The food was good but not better than Ohana Japanese Steak house in City Island.

Our family has been to Edo's any where between 75-100 in the last 15-20 years. We have used them to celebrate many birthdays. We truly enjoy this place. The hosts, chiefs and all employees there make your visit very enjoyable. The food is incredible especially for all that you get. The employees there know our name by heart and always welcome us knowing our name. I would definitly recommend this place to anyone for any occasion.

This has been and always will be one of my favorite restaurants! I have been going to EDO's since I was about 7 and miss it so due to relocation. The wait can be long but there is a bar where you can sit and have a few drinks while waiting. Yes you may have to sit with strangers while you enjoy the good food, chef and show (watching the chef make your food is a show in itself) but it'sgood b/c you get to meet new people, sometimes from around the world. The best part is when you tell the host that someone in your party is having a birthday! All the chefs come out and sing Happy Birthday in Japanese (sui, sui, sui,....hahaha) and they take your picture and you get to bring it home to show off as a great memory of great food and entertainment. Even other diners start to sing even if they do not know you! Excellent place to start off a first date due to plenty of conversation pieces availble to help break the ice! Can't wait to go back to NY to eat there again and will take my kids there as mine have also taken me and my sister there too!

Edo's is a hidden gem. It doesn't look like much on the outside, but the inside has plenty of ambiance for what you're paying. If you go with a good attitude, you'll have a good time. Very nice place for a date, since there would be plenty of conversational points.

The food is cooked right in front of you, the chef entertaining you all the while. Everything is tasty and the portions are HUGE. you will definetley bring home leftovers to your grateful family lol. This is because the food is simple and delicious.

The only con is you sit with strangers if there aren't enough in your party to fill one table (about 6 people). Even so, you are spaced so that private conversation is no problem.

This place makes me want to make out with my boyfriend when he brings me.

Try Edo's!

When I first went to Edo's, I was in high school. I had a great time there, as my mom rented a room for my friends and family to celebrate my 16th birthday. It was fun.

Now going there, I find it to be a very cheesy environment. It's the suburban version of a tourist trap. Waiting the "chefs" do their best Martin Yan moves around the hibachi are the highlights for many of the patrons.

Though the food is good, it's a bit over-priced. Not to mention, it's very hard to hear one-another when you're in the dining room, rather than in a private one, especially since so many people celebrate their birthdays there nowadays.

It's a good time for first-timers, but I wouldn't recommend it as a place I would frequent.

PROS: Good food
CONS: Overcrowded, Noisy

It has everything you expect from this type of Japanese restaurant. The food is excellent and the attentive staff really takes good care of you to ensure a nice dinner. The drinks were a surprise in that they were prepared very well and is more typical of a nice New York City bar.
