Great Years at NJHS
by Bob W.
I attended North Junior High School from September 1946 until June 1949 and until I went away to Delaware in 1949, it was a most rewarding school experience. My wonderful memories of growing up in Newburgh will always have their foundation in the years I spent at NJHS.

Long Ago North Junior High Memories
by Millar G.
I attended NJH the second year after it was built (1938) from Sept. 1939 through June 1941. I am a charter member of the GO--it cost a quarter to join--and, unless it has been taken down, the list of charter members still hangs in the lobby. I was sorry to read the previous review of NJH by Anonymous that he /she didn't have a very good time in NJH and more surprising was the remark that he didn't much like any of the teachers. I liked some of the teachers better than others as with any group of people you interact with on a daily basis, but as I look at them from the distance of 66 to 69 years, the teachers whom I remember were pleasant and did well in teaching their respective subjects. Being 81, I'm fairly sure most, if not all, of these teachers have shuffled off this mortal coil. But NJH itself was a bright, clean and pleasant school to attend much different from the old Montgomery St, School (not the current one) where I attended elementary school. Perhaps the nearly 70 years that have elapsed since NJH was built have worn it down and it isn't as pleasant a school to attend, But I think it's a student's attitude that makes the school good or bad.and how teachers are perceived.

NJHS

North Junior is the junior high I went to for four years. I did not have the greatest time at NJHS. I didn't really like any teacher there that much and the facilities were not that great.
