We're always on the lookout for vegetarian-friendly places. This is a tiny place that has a lot of character and some good veggie faren and great coffee. It's across from the Port Jeff library up on East Main Street. You can eat in, but it's a little cramped at times, so consider doing the takeout thing.

I'm not going to say that this place is terrible, but it's a disgrace that they tout being a "vegetarian" restaurant when they are far from it. Okay, I could understand them having a couple of chicken dishes, whatever....but half of the menu is not veg friendly! If I wanted to go to a restaurant where I couldn't eat half the food, I would go somewhere to a restaurant that made no mention of being "vegetarian". And as a vegan, the choices are even more limited. What I found even more ridiculous was that there was a soup on the menu -which could have very easily been made veg or even vegan- yet it had chicken stock in it. It's already rare enough to find restaurants that cater to veg*an food, and Tiger Lily is no help in doing that. I also feel that, to no veg*an, it is blurring the lines further as to what is acceptable and what isn't in a veggie diet. Super frustrating. I think they should either stop calling themselves a "vegetarian" restaurant or start have better options.
Plus, you will pay out the *ss for the food. I ordered a balsamic wrap for myself, a salad (which btw was just lettuce) and two bottled drinks came to almost $20. No thanks.

Pros: Some good dishes

Cons: Too many chicken/fish options to be considered veggie

the service people were rude, and the place attempts to be artsy, but is gauche and loud. after paying $7 for a rather bland grilled cheese that supposedly had bacon on it (microwaved?), and $3 for a cup of cheap tea, i was told that the owner preferred customers not to use the outlets to work on their computes. which would have cost a total of what, 30 cents? there were no signs indicating this random request, but was delivered by the little tart who took my order (and was perfectly rude no less than 3 time in the 30 second interaction we had with her.)

if you're looking for something other than starbucks, try it out. but i would rather deal with mainstream chains than pretentious, overpriced coffee drinks delivered by indolent wannabes.

Pros: not starbucks

Cons: irritating service people and wannabe hipster artists types, plus they close at 6?

A variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian selections are offered fresh daily. Vegetarian favorites include Asian and Italian dishes made with tofu and tempeh, very flavorful and satisfying. Great smoothies and coffees. Features artwork by local artists.

PROS: Vegetartian-friendly, non veg options too.
CONS:

This is my dream restaurant. You can't imagine how amazing the food is and how cool the place is decorated. I feel like i'm in New York City!! I am a vegetarian and I have such a difficult time finding food that actaully tasts good and is actaully VEGAN. This stuff tastes AMAZING!!!! I'm so glad I found it. The staff is great, the live music is really cool and the prices are sooo cheap! It's my new favourite spot.
