I came into Emmanuel Nail on July 10 and spent over $100. One of the services I had done was to have a "new" type of french manicure. They looked like tips, and I asked Jennie who was doing my nails how long they would last. She told me 2-3 weeks. Within two days FIVE of the tips had broken off. I'm not currently working & I don't do anything laborious, so it's not as if I was doing something unusually strenuous to my nails. The broken tips were jagged so I filed them down, but first I took photos as I've found that some places aren't very accomodating to refunding for bad service. I then went to the salon and spoke with the manager (she may be the owner). I showed her my nails, five of which were noticeably shorter than the other five. She stood there and looked at them and then had the gall to LIE and say, "Only one is broken. I can't refund your money. I can only offer you a credit for another service." I then informed her that I had taken photos of the broken nails and she responded that she never gives refunds. What I hadn't told her was that I wasn't happy with my pedicure either, as I paid extra for a special spa pedicure and my heels still look very calloused. I get pedicures twice a month and paid the extra money specifically to get rid of the rough spots, which is what I told Jennie. I am now going to send the manager/owner a letter with the photos. If she does not reimburse me the $25 for the french manicure I am taking the salon to the Better Business Bureau, and if I have to go through that then I will be asking for a reimbursement for my pedicure also. I can't believe she is putting me through this over a lousy $25!!! For me it's the principle. I don't appreciate being lied to and ripped off. Now I bet she will have people get online and put up nice reviews.

Cons: Lying

.

Very ice little nail shop on the East side. Massage chairs, lots of colors, what else could you need or want?!

This is the only place I ever go to get a mani/pedi in the city and yay! I get to go again this weekend using a LuxeNow gift card (never heard of it but you can use it at hundreds of nail salons around the city ?? good stuff, awesome gift). Beautiful and girlie environment, all the equipment is really well sterilized, and the staff is suuuper sweet and nice. They do terrific french manicure/pedicures.
