Love this place. Noisy? Yes!. Not a place for romantic evening. Friendly? Yes! Great pizza, good simple service.
Dont expect Jan George here.

We are all fans of the Mountain House, Tony, Richie, George, Nick, Billy, Bruce, Clem and Greg. The staff is great and the food is out standing. If you are looking for a good place, food, fun, and good prices, don't look any further, this is the place.

The food here is marginal at best...the pizza tastes like frozen pizza...and the chicken cutlet from the sandwich seemed not to have been freshly prepared...but more like something from Costco.

The service was fairly unattentive as well...and it was very loud there on a Friday evening.

The prices are very reasonable...but don't expect much.

I came to this eatery because my girlfriend had fond memories from about two years ago of the pizzas having been large and piled high with toppings. We were almost immediately disappointed. The pizza, which the waitress insisted was a "large" was smaller than a small pizza at most restaurants, and the toppings were limited. The broccoli was visible only as minute crumbles from the head spread across the pizza more like a spice than a topping. We soon discovered that the underside of the crust was burnt.

On getting the attention of a waitress to get a replacement, we were told-- along with a complimentary snippy attitude and aggressive posture --that the pizza was likely burnt because we ordered it without cheese (my girlfriend and I are lactose intolerant, and regularly order pizzas without cheese with no problem at other restaurants). When we finished, we asked for our check, and told our waitress about the experience with the other waitress, and she claimed that we shouldn't worry because "she's like that with everybody."

We waited twenty minutes before calling our waitress over, as she had begun to clean tables while we waited for our check. She stated that she was on her "way out; did you want your check?" After paying, we asked the manager over, and were given another aggressive, snippy reply, claiming that "the pizza wasn't that burnt" (we didn't say how burnt it was, only that it WAS burnt), and that the cooking time was standardized because of the mechanism of the oven. I hate to think that this is the norm for their pizzas, if that's true!

Overall, we were charged $17.30 for a pizza that was at most 14" across. That price might be expected with better quality, but even leaving aside the service, the taste was below mediocre, more like something one would find in a public high school cafeteria than a supposedly reputable restaurant.

This is a great place to get outstanding thin crust pizza from a warm, friendly and efficient wait staff. It is a family friendly restaurant where kids are more than welcome. Knowing that it can get a bit noisy, if you are looking for a quiet romantic place, this is not it. But for a casual place to go for pizza, beer, etc and not spend a fortune, this is the place. It has a true neighborhood feel and on a Friday night, you will probably run into someone you know.

This is a family restaurant. You can order in or take out your meal. Thin crust pizza is very good. Pizza is not the only option there are other menu choices and not necissarily Italian choices to pick from.

The pizza is good.. I was told by kinchleys that it was their original recipe. The mountain house stole it. The food is not good Its a DIVE. You bring the kids there after a game all filthy. Checker table cloths and dirty chairs. The floor is covered in pizza and the place is just so noisy. We will never go back there are to many nice places to go than there. We heard this great buzz and we were so disappointed. Sorry folks we are just not a fan.
Thank you Teresa F.

A great restaurant for large groups, fun, robust atmosphere. Bar in the back. Good food, great pizza. Service is fast and efficient which is extra good because the lines get long and the good service keeps the tables moving. Large portions. Everything on the menu is good, prices are reasonable so check them out.

Tucked away on Route 340 in Sparkill, you might miss this restaurant. Be sure you don't!

The Mountain House offers a nice selection of entrees and desserts but their pizza is absolutely THE BEST thin crust pizza around.

There is ample parking and the wait staff is superb.

PROS: AWESOME Pizza, Awesome Service
CONS: Location
