DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, especially Lovell Ramsey. Renting an apt through this company was one of the most awful experiences I have EVER gone through. They play a lot of games and omitted a lot of details that were extremely important and almost cost us our apartment. I was looking for an apt that could take my large dog and had parking. I was told the property manager was spoken to and approved the dog and parking was included. It took 3 days of back and forth before we were told everything we wanted was approved and we were scheduled to sign the lease. I asked to see a copy beforehand and also to sign the lease at the property managers office, since it was much more continent for us. I was given a very hard time about seeing the lease and just felt like Lovell was very sketchy.

I finally received a copy from the property manager herself, in which she tells me we are meeting at rapid realtys office and not hers to sign the lease. I called her and she tells me that Lovell never discussed meeting at her office, but I have a text from him confirming we are. I then start to read the lease and find out the parking was given to us for 1 year free but next year, not only is it not included, but it will be an extra $250 A MONTH! Then I find out that Lovell bullied the property manager into giving us the spot behind our building, by claiming it was a deal breaker, in which she made our super move his spot for us to have. I NEVER SAID THAT! I told them, if it was possible then I wanted it, but definitely not at the expense of pissing of our new super. The best part of all of this however, was finding out that not only did the property manager NOT KNOW I HAVE A DOG, there was also an extra $500 pet deposit I was never told about!!!

So now I ask myself WHAT DID HE ACTUALLY DO FOR US, because everything he basically told me was LIES! So I bring all of this up to Lovell and he just apologizes and claims they were MISCOMMUNICATIONS!! I start to get heated and ask for his bosses number to discuss the problem and he refused to give to me and got extremely nasty with me on the phone. I had a friend of mine call to calmly discuss compromising on the fee agreement, since we now have all of these extra expenses and I felt he didnt owe the amount of money were paying him, and he told her absolutely not and claimed that I have no manners and he didnt appreciate being spoken to so disrespectfully. I just wanted my apartment and didnt want to deal with his crap anymore, so I conceded, paid him, and just asked that he not be at my lease signing. The whole process was just way too stressful and ridiculous.

Anyway, if you also want to see for yourself, go look at his Instagram lolexinc, where he claims he is the owner of the company but he is actually just the manager, he puts up pictures of his clients without their permission (I thought our photo was going on the company website, not his personal social media account), and posts conversations with clients which are very rude. For example he put up a picture and commented What will it be? $4500 per month lets make up our minds its only a window and its not a wedding dress. If you want it take it. forget about the view. Talk about disrespectful!! And I bet that woman doesnt even know he put that up.

Not sure if they're taught to be push and unprofessional. They're cramped in an office with a queue of computer workstations so that there's no privacy if you wanted to speak with your agent.
They push you to give a deposit because there's a rat race amongst agents.
When they found me an apt. It was ok, but did not fix any of things that I requested (clean oven, window guards, radiator covers etc). I was told that it would be fixed by the landlord. been having trouble for 2 months to get landlord to rectify. I would say spend your broker's fee with a more reputable and professional real estate agent.

I was so shocked after meeting up with these guys to go apartment viewing. They were unclear, pushy, and very unprofessional. The apartments they had were disgusting and they clearly didn't know anything about them. I suggest going someplace else!!!

This company employs unprofessional, overly pushy realtors that make promises and do things behind your back. If you want a pleasant experience avoid them. It is not worth the misery.

On April 27, my husband and I looked at an apartment in Park Slope and did not like the older kitchen and bathroom. We left and Garrison called and said another couple was coming in 10 minutes & they??d surely take it. I told him our concerns and he said that the landlord would re-do the bathroom and replace the oven and floors, all reasonable requests, he called them. We came back to look and he said that the couple was inside looking and we went in and nobody was there. He lied to our faces. We should have known then to walk away.

We made a list of 11 things to change and were instructed to give a deposit and wait until the landlord agreed to our requests to submit the app and do the credit check. I was forced to fill out an application online at the office and put in my social security number. I refused because I didn??t want my credit checked. Garrison said I had to in order to submit the online app but assured me he??d wait to run my credit until we heard from the landlord. Another guy took my deposit and credit check fee and again I said I didn??t want my credit checked and Garrison said not to worry, he??d take care of it.

That night a man named Anthony called me and said he would talk to the landlord for me and asked me for my list which I'd purposely made copies of. I gave Anthony my list and he texted me the next day that the landlord would paint. I called and said he wasn??t going to do enough so we wanted to let the apartment go. Anthony said he had my deposit and credit in case we found something else. I was shocked that he ran my credit without asking me! Garrison hadn??t told him anything he??d promised. Anthony said the landlord wouldn??t have discussed a thing without my full application and credit (which Garrison never told me) and said our requests were unreasonable (the opposite of what garrison had said). Neither took responsibility for this horrible situation and both argued and yelled at me for no reason because they have nothing to do with returning deposits anyway.

I told my story to Sarah and Todd on May 10 when I picked up my deposit, minus the credit check fee, who were very apologetic. She was shocked that they??d promised not to run my credit and did it behind my back. She and Todd said that the realtor I dealt with was not representative of the company. She said she??d call me back that afternoon after talking to the broker, Val. She didn??t give me a number to call and never called me. I called May 12 and she started to say that the broker wasn??t on my side but the call was dropped and she hasn??t called me back and is not answering my calls.

This was the worst experience I have had with a professional business and I wouldn??t wish it on anyone.

As a soon to be ex-agent of Rapid, the only thing good I have to say is that they help people get their Real Estate licenses. In other words, they are only a good INTRODUCTORY to the realty business.

Besides that, these dummies need to be refreshed on the difference between a REGULAR EMPLOYEE and an INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR. The employer controls the employee's work hours and salary/wage. Independent contractors control our own hours and how much we make at the end of the day or week. Employees can join unions and receive company benefits; Independent contractors don't, but we are still supposed to be in control of our own working time, so on, so forth. Not told that we must sit somewhere in a "sweatshop with computers" 12 hours a day, 7 days a week. They REALLY don't know the difference between EMPLOYEE and INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR!

Like I said, they are good for helping people get their real estate licenses and that's it. That is where the buck stops.

Nice pictures on Craigslist of everyone flashing wads and fans of money; is Rapid plan on making a "gangsta rap" video for their business soon? That would be so cool!

I used Rapid for my son and his group who were looking for a 4 bdrm apartment in Brooklyn. Not sure if I spoke to the same person 2x in working through the details. They had a "secure" website they wanted all this finaincal info sent to. I was concerned a bit that there would be hidden fees but it all worked out in the end. I think the unit is overpriced but who knows, it is in a good area.

I cannot begin to describe to you what a horrible experinece I and my wife had with Rapid realty on 95th street and 4th avenue location. We found an apartment online and Rapid was the broker. They asked me to bring $500.00 in 20 minutes if we wanted the apartment and I did.Than the next day they asked for $4000 which I brought in money orders.I signed the lease only to find out the landlord rented to another person becasue Rapid never called him to tell him I signed the lease and brought the money.Than it took me 5 days to get my refund. They told me that the person with the money dissapeared and that they were sorry.I flipped out and told them that I was not leaving without my refund and than after 5 days of back and forth they finally produced me with my refund.By far the worst realty agency I have ever been associated with.

Any positive review is written by a Rapid agent themselves I have never seen such bull* in my life.. as a former employee that left out of my own free will.. I can tell you that this will catch up with them. How do you post places that do not exist to bail people in then push them into junk ..they have no choice because you take their money and keep it. scam all the way.. a million locations the highest turnover rateof agents so no real time is invested in honing skilled agents.. GHETTO

Shill, shill, shill, shill, shill! The worst of all brokerages we worked with in the area. Pushy agents, pretending on Craigslist to be owners of apartments they represent. Newsflash: they're not! Nor is their management, as they claim. Just stay away for your own good.

I've read all of the reviews on Rapid Realty, and I must say, I have mixed feelings. For what it's worth, I'm a future agent, and I'll be working with Rapid. However, I have a different approach to Real Estate, seeing as I come from a Real Estate background. I went from an Assistant, to a Director of Operations, to investing, so when it comes to Real Estate, I'm pretty educated. That said, I'd like to educate some of you.

1. Real Estate is a BUSINESS. Landlords (sometimes) don't care about your deposit if the rent you've agreed to pay is lower than the "actual" rent. So yes, if someone comes along, and is willing to pay the actual rent, their application just might be considered over your's.

2. There are times when a prospective renter inquires about a certain apartment, and for whatever reason, it's no longer available. In order to keep one interested, the agent will show said prospective renter another apartment. I say that because in my six years working in this industry, it's been my experience that most times, the apartment you call about, isn't the one you rent.

3. ANYONE who holds a Real Estate license in the state of NY MUST be at least 18 years of age.

4. Real Estate is a business that requires a great deal of trust, and comfort. When someone comes to you in a suit and tie (business attire), you may be inclined to listen, but you're probably thinking "what is he/she trying to sell me?" With that mindset, you may be listening for the "sales pitch". On the other hand, someone who comes to you a little less "dressed up" (nice pants; polo, or a button up shirt), relieves a bit of the anxiousness you may already feel about this whole moving situation. What Rapid tries to do is create a greater measure of comfort by not always dressing in "business" attire. Granted, I don't personally agree with jeans and tshirts in the office (unless they're the dressy type), one needs to try getting into the psychology behind the "unprofessionalism".

I hope my shpeel (if you will) has eased some of your tension when it comes to working with Rapid Realty. Again, I will be working with them, but I am not writing this to shoot down what anyone else has said, good or bad, but merely to educate. Again, my background is Real Estate, so I know what I'm talking about. We have a Manhattan office, so if anyone decides that they want to move into the Manhattan area, feel free to contact me @ (646) 387-9027 or MicahWhitlow09@Gmail.com. I would be glad to help you, or put you in touh with an agent that can.

SLUMLORD. Withourt permit, Illegally subdivided building he owns at 370 Butler St. Tenants also likely illegally living in basement. Tenants repeatedly refuse access to Dept of Buildings inspectors. Refuses to furnish building with garbage pails in spite of complaints to his Rapid Realty scam operation. Instead has them pile garbage in shopping bags in cinderblock enclosure. with ample access for rats or, worse, curbside on neighbor's property. A thoroughly disgusting neighbor.

So it was a few months ago I was almost homeless-- I lost my apartment and had only a week or so to find a new one. Took a gamble and tried Rapid and I didn't like the agent (real tool) but they did getme in a place and I didn't have to sleep in my car. Bonus.

Yucky apartments! We were looking for something really grand in North Slope. These losers have nothing - wasted my time with some slumlord-style apts. Some smelled bad, some showed signs of lack of maintenance, most were in lousy locations. Sub-standard, nohting to write home about. Agent was inexperienced, too.

I saved a lot of money by going with them so I would recomend it. They don't charge a fee like a lot of these places so I was really happy with my expereince.

I used to livei n Chicago and thought apartment hunting in NY would be horrible, which is what everyone told me. This company was not bad at all, and they worked really fast.

Glad I called these guys. My dad worked in real estate for thirty years, and he's still there, and he does nothing but complain about the sleazy characters he had to work with. I'm happy to say my experience with Rapid was contrary to everything I had heard.

Moving from San Francisco to NY was no small thing. Little me, a little worm in the big apple and was scared I wouldn't find anything, so I'm glad I called Rapid.

I was in a hurry to find a place in my price range (and that was friendly to musicians-- I play the clarinet and it can get loud.) I hate moving and was not looking forward to the whole process. But they did it fast and they made it easy. I recommend them.

Run away, even when their agents run after you! They chased me down after they spotted me work with an agent from a different (AND REPUTABLE) firm. Rapid is home to unlicensed agents with little or no experience - and like many before me I fell victim to their false promises. They set the bait with a cheap, "no fee" "by owner", then switched to expensive, "low fee" by broker story.

this firm should be carefully reviewed for its blatantly unprofessional approach to real estate business! their bait and switch techniques give all the brokers in brooklyn a bad name. i was promised one thing, and shown something completely unrelated. and then came the surprise: the apartment carried a broker's fee - EVEN THOUGH THEY CLAIMED THIS TO BE A NO FEE LISTING!!!?!? i guess they hope nobody sues them because it's too expensive and people don't want to be bothered. i certainly won't although i definitely should.

Do not trust Rapid Realty's brokers when they tell you they are exclusive for any landlord or that your deposit takes the apartment off the market. After I handed over one-month as a deposit on an apartment, they kept me in the dark for a week before informing me the landlord found someone who would pay more. The brokers are immature, unprofessional kids with no business ethics or morals. Giving them your money is a gamble. Maybe you'll get the apartment you liked, maybe you won't. But you definitely won't get the truth from them. They were a huge hinderance to my search. When they finally gave me my check, after holding my money for a week, they dated it for the next day. At least it cleared. I will never deal with Rapid Realty ever again.

I have worked with almost every damn realestate company in brooklyn over the past few months, and been disappointed with every one but rapid realty. not only did they find me a wonderful studio (but BIG - it has a second room, so I don't even know why they called it a studio!), but they did it cheerfully, and quickly, without a lot of the attitude I encountered at the other places.
like, everywhere else, I felt like I was an inconvenience because i was just looking for a studio, like I wasn't spending enough money to even be bothered with. at rapid, I felt like I would have been treated the same if I had been looking for a 4,000 dollar apartment. they respected the fact that I was in need a of a new home, whether or not it was an inexpensive one, and that's why I would use this company again.

these people have ridiculous amounts of apartments for rent - it seems like they account for more than half of the places (esp. no fee) on craigslist. i found their website through an ad on the ol c-list, and ended up looking at 9 (NINE!) apartments with them. I am picky as hell, but we eventually found an amazing apartment within my budget, and paid a smaller broker fee than I've paid in the past with other rental/broker places. I recommend contacting James, he was awesome, and did not ask if I worked out.

i just closed on an apartment with janira at rapid realty, who was so great throughout the process - I found an apartment with aramis (painless afternoon, found a place in one day), and then janira kind of took over from there. she was like my new best friend throughout these last few days - i talked to her more than anyone - she kept me in the loop, and i really appreciated it, since getting an apartment can be a stressful process (especially when you're in the dark, which has been the case in the past working with other companies).

you deserve a gold star, janira!!!

this place was real cool - everybody there was helpful and nice, and my girl drove me all over brooklyn (even bed stuy, which a lot of girls are afraid to go to), until we found a cheap place that i liked. it wasn't even a dump, which is ALL i saw before this company. my credit sucks, so i had to pay 3 months to the landlord when i signed my lease, but that wasn't rapid realty's fault. overall, a great company.

man, this place is busy. like a madhouse. it turned me off a little at first, only because i was sort of overwhelmed. but those people know what they're doing, let me tell you. i was in there for maybe 15 minutes total, found a sick apartment in like a half hour, and signed the lease later on that night (they put it together ridiculously quickly too, i even met my landlord that night). don't let the cartoonish-factory-business throw you off, these guys are on top of it.

im even inviting my broker to my housewarming party, which is tonight!

I was nervous moving to Brooklyn (for school), I'm from a ridiculously tiny town in Ohio, and kept hearing horror stories about the "shady business" that goes down in NYC real estate. So, needless to say, I was kind of apprehensive when I walked into their office. But the guys at Rapid were anything but shady - they were honest about everything, from which neighborhoods I should avoid (they worked with my little budget but didn't try to put me in a scary neighborhood), to what the fee was (which I negotiated down a LOT). I'm so glad that I had a stress-free experience with them, since the rest of the move was anything but (U-Haul, if I never see you again it'll be too soon).

my experience with rapid realty was very positive. everyone i spoke to was nice, and helped make moving a little bit easier. they have a really large selection of apartments (depending on your price range), and they kept the lines of communication open throughout my application process. i was approved for the apartment i applied for, and am now moving into a great place.

Hah, "world class" is a funny rating.
Anyway, I got THE nicest apartment from here, I can't wait to start decorating. Everything was finished so fast I thought there had to be a catch. BUT... I got my keys, they fit in the lock, I met my landlord, he didn't ask who the hell I was, everything's good. Next time I move (never!) I will go to them first.

Used this company to get my apartment. Everyone I worked with was nice, and moved really fast (the name fits!). They had a really wide selection of apts for rent, from cheap to high-end (wish I could afford a 3200/month apt. in Brooklyn Heights...some day, dammit!), and lots of places with no fee. My broker took me out all day, and I got an apartment that same day! Very efficient, very friendly service. I would recommend them to anyone who's looking for a new apartment!
