NYSC provides a clean and friendly workout environment. There is a wide array of newly advanced workout equipment including cybex and free-motion. The cardiovascular equipment is also first class. Prices are reasonable and classes are available for all levels of aerobic capacity.

Look at www.companiesgetfit.com to see if your company can get you a discount. This is a fun gym and not to crowded after work. I enjoy being able to use the passport pass and getting to try the various NY Sports Clubs
PROS: good clean gym
CONS: pricey startup unless you have a discount

If you worf for the City of New York you will get a nice discount. I love the gym it is convienant and always clean. However I find it to be a little expensive. Ballys is cheaper than NYSC. But it is a great gym.

No need to get the high-end gyms, NYSC is a mid-level gym that has great classes, great gyms, and a wide selection. Trainers are helpful but not overly-so, and they are always good with giving out the free 2-week passes, just in case you want to try it out
