This is an awesome skiing adventure for a day- Take your kids. They'll have fun whether they are beginners or great on skis. They have lessons which are reasonably priced with great ski instructors. I'm still on the little hills. But I love it- Great family outing on a snowy or not so snowy day if its cold- Gotta love that fake snow- Highly recommend for a day outing.

Bristol Mountain is the best skiing you'll get for some distance. The closest really nice mountain is probably Whiteface. Anyway, tickets at Bristol run about $40, and rentals are somewhere around $15. They have quite a few runs that range from very slow and easy, to moderately challenging. They mark a few as double diamond but it is really only in comparison to the rest of the resort, not anywhere else at all. Weekdays are great, but on the weekends it tends to get very vrey crowded, waiting 10-15 minutes in line for the high speed quad.

Bristol mountain is a wonderful place to begin skiing or snowboarding. They have a very small bunny hill that you can go and practice on, and many smaller slopes with low grades. They have a nice rental center, the lessons you can take are useful, and the lodge is cozy.

PROS: Good for beginners.
CONS: could use better food and nicer changing area.
