Lucente Homes

I have lived in my apartment for 4 yrs. It was in excellent condition when I moved in. It is also in a quiet neighborhood with very good bus service. The maintenance has been excellent (a delight after having owned and cared for a house for 20 years). I have had several problems all of which have been taken care of very effectively. One particularly tricky problem (a leak that developed after very heavy rain) took several attempts to repair, but was eventually dealt with very effectively. In every case, the staff has been very responsive and considerate. It has been a pleasure living here and it is a pleasure to recommend Lucente Homes.

I can highly recommend Lucente Homes and Apartments for anyone looking for modern affordable living. They are a very good deal. And the Service is first class plus

We have rented from Lucente Homes and Apartments for four years, and have been very pleased. The apartment we rent is a two bedroom two bath in a house with three other apartments located on a quiet street in the Northeast. The apartment is very bright and modern with high cathedral ceilings throughout, tile flooring in the kitchen and bathrooms (2), granite countertops, and very well insulated. There is coin-op washer and dryer on premises that is shared with the other tenants in the house, plenty of lawn for kids, and located in a quiet neighborhood. Lawn care and snow removal included with rent. The office staff are highly professional, helpful and pleasant to talk to. Maintenance requests are handled quickly and efficiently and the maintenance staff are considerate when entering your apartment. I can highly recommend Lucente Homes and Apartments for anyone looking for modern affordable living.

My experience with Lucente Homes was pleasant. They kept my rent low throughout the two years I was there, and were quick with any service requests that I made. Noise was never much of an issue as I was able to get a lot of work done during the evenings. The house was always warm and cozy during the winters which can be quite long and brutal in Ithaca. Also, the staff was very friendly and approachable. Overall, I found the place to be very affordable and pleasant. Highly recommended.

We have been renting from Lucente for four years now, and are absolute satisfied. The house is modern, clean and well-maintained. Lucente also offers great service. Whenever there was a problem, a maintenance team came at the same day to fix it. Similar great service for landscaping and snowplowing. The 'tipping fees' were odd at first but the rent is fair for such a good-quality home, and the fees are affordable, too, especially when considering our satisfaction and the service provided by Lucente. I would recommend Lucente, and would rent again from them.

I have lived in one of the bungalow apartments on Birchwood Drive and was very impressed with the floor plan and the contemporary interior design. This apartment has been one of the nicest places I have ever lived. I was equally impressed with the high quality appliances and I just loved the real tile floors in the kitchen and bathrooms. The cathedral ceilings gave it a very spacious feeling to it and I would recommend Lucente Homes to anyone looking for a classy place to live.

We had heard numerous stories about Lucente homes so we were a bit worried. However, after talking with some friends who lived there, we decided to go ahead. Having lived there for a year, and just moved out, we only have good things to say. They were helpful and friendly in the office, and whenever we had a problem it was sorted out. I'm not giving them 5 stars for the quality of accomodation, as Winston Crt is no Hilton, but for what it is, affordable no-worries accomodation, we couldn't fault our apartment or the management.

I have lived in one of Lucente Homes houses for four years now and Iam an employee of Cornell University. I have nothing but good things to say about the agency. The landlords are the best in town and very very fair and reasonable with their tenants. They have a 24 hour emergency maintenance service and have wonderful people taking care of the upkeep of the houses. The office staff is extremely professional and reliable and They will go out of their way to accommodate their tenants. The landlady is very helpful, understanding, and generous in dealing on daily basis with her tenants. I can only highly recommend Lucente Homes for anyone looking for classy and reasonable living in the Northeast area of Ithaca.

Hi All,

I remember reading this Warning just before the beginning of the
semester
, only 1 day after signing a lease with the Lucente's..I was crippled
with fear that I had made an irreversible mistake and over time,
accepted
to live with it since there wasnt much i could do...I certainly didnt
make this (warning) known to the Landlord at the time. After living in
the complex for only 1 month, my roomate quit on me since he couldnt
pay
rent, and now I had to ponder what i was going to do given that it was
only 1 month into a 11-month lease.. I have to admit that this was a
very
tempting and disheartening moment because not only was I suppose to
deal
with the enormous amount of school work, I also had to loook for
another
rooomate as soon as possible. So I placed Ads in all possible outlets
including Craigslist, but soon learned how tough it is to get a roomate
mid-semester..At this point of time, I was willing to lose my security
deposit and last month's rent so i could move out to an affordable apt.
Soon I contacted Lucente's about my situation in an effort to find out
what my fate would be If I moved out..First, the secretary at the
Rental
office didnt have answers for my situation, but soon Lucie (Secretary)
informed me of a guy who was in the same situation as I was, and
suggested that perhaps both of us (me and the guy) should talk to the
Landlord (Mrs Lucente) to see if I could move in with him and forfeit
the
other Apt. Well, Mrs. Lucente was out of town for a bit, but as soon as
she came back, on talking to her she was very understanding of our
situation..She didnt hesitate to help us by letting us move in together
and didnt charge us for forfeiting the other Apt. Then crossed my mind
that I had read negative comments about Mrs. Lucente, yet she greatly
HELPED us in this particular situation.

Since I dont know all facts about the complaint that solicited this
"Warning", I would not be quick avoid the Lucentes.. She greatly saved
me a semester of agony and misery.. Please lets give her another
chance,
and consider all the sides..I am not an agent of the Lucentes, but I
have certainly witnessed her MINDFULNESS.

These previouse tenants who are stating negative aspects of Lucente Homes must not have carefully reviewed their lease. I received my full security deposit back from the Lucentes after living in one of their properties for three years. I simply followed the lease and had my carpet professionally steam cleaned and made sure the rest of the place was free of dirt and that I left it the way it was when I moved in. The landlords greatly take into consideration normal ware and tare that occurs over time and are extremely fair when returning security deposits. Of course, any tenant who doesn't clean their apartment and leaves dirt and grease should be charged because in the end, someone has to clean it which costs money. I would highly, highly recommend Lucente Homes for anyone who is looking for a clean, safe, and reliable place to live. Their prices are more than reasonabe and the services is outstanding!

I recommend Lucente Homes to anyone looking for great value rental appartments. I have lived in one of their Village townhouses for 2 years during my time at CU, and was very happy about the professionality and service by this company. One day, my fridge broke, and they came and replaced it the same day! The appartments are very well maintained and they are absolutely spotless when you move in. Snow is removed promptly in winter and the landlord is great. You cannot compare their service and responsiveness to any other landlord in Ithaca (especially Collegetown!) Trust me, I have lived in several places during my 4 years in Ithaca! When moving out, I received my full deposit back.

PROS: very responsive and reliable landlord
CONS: none

The landlady is greedy and rude. She will find all kinds of execuse to keep your security deposite. Normal wear-and-tear should not be considered as damage, but she thinks anything in the apartment that doesn't look brand new when you move out is a damage, and will charge you full retail price to replace those items. Then she doesn't replace those items and try to scam the new tenant for the same item when he/she moves out next year.

It is not just me, Everyone I know who lived there has been burned by her. Do NOT rent apartments from Lucente Homes. Stay away, or you will be burned by her!

PROS: None
CONS: Never got the full amount of my security deposite back.

My friend told me that "I actually haven't got my deposit yet since I moved out in 2004. I am just sick and tired of their way of doing things."

I also heard about a lot of other friends
complaining about deducted deposit, I personally experienced that as well.
