I got a mail postcard for movie tickets so I decided to check it out. The office is close, and the office was very nice, finding the next appointment was a bit of a challenge.

I wish I would have read the other reviews for vital dent but it's too late for me. I have a 'temporary filling' that needs to be fixed in two weeks and a $3200 bill that i wasn't expecting....so i'm kind of stuck....but if you have a choice, RUN.

My coworker recommended Vital Dent on 36th street and since it was close to our office i went. After my initial consultation they had $1600 worth of work that i needed done. I knew I needed a lot done, so I complied. I went in and got half of the work done and that was fine. I made an appointment for the second half and my appointment was rescheduled twice. I couldn't not go because they were already billing me for all the work i needed. Finally I made an appointment, but the original dentist wasn't doing it. This new dentist didn't agree with the old dentist's assesment and wanted to do something differently and i was told this would cost an extra $240 ($450 for the new procedure). I didn't think i had much of a choice since she refused to do what the other dentist recommended so i agreed.

After a VERY VERY VERY painful three hours in the chair (she pumped me full of the maximum amount of anesthesia but i could still feel the drill...this has NEVER happened to me before) I was taken to the manager to explain my bill. He said he was mistaken and that it was not $450 like he had originally told me, but rather $800 and that since it ran between two teeth it would be $800x2.

I was instantly angered that i was not alterted to this before i had a gaping hole drilled in my head (i have a temporary filling and have to go back for them to finish) and that now I am stuck having to pay an EXTRA $1600 over the $1600 that was already budgeted out.

It's insanity that they would make you make those kind of decisions right then and there and then change the price after it's already been done so you can't change your mind.

Not only that, but while i was wincing in pain having three hands shoved in my mouth, the women doing the work were complaining about how all they wanted to do was go home, etc. etc. It was so rude, because quite frankly, I didn't want to be there either.

I would rather saw off my pinky toe than have to go back there and have them painfully drill my teeth again, gossip over my face as if I'm not even there and then try and charge me for more BS, but like i said, I'm kind of stuck at this point.
