I feel so horrible for the puppies. They haven't done anything and they don't deserve what they have already been through. The signs say that they are hand picked for NYS breeders but they aren't. The one puppy we were interested in was from Wynadotte, OK. The lady said that the breeders, the Kerrs, initially lived in NY but moved to Oklahoma so the puppies get delivered once a month by truck. I did some research on the Kerrs and here is what I found. There is no record of Margaret and her husband Berkley living in NY. From 1989 to at least 2001, they were living in Kansas. They still come up listed as having a place in Kansas as well as one in Oklahoma.

A court case where Margaret Kerr was suing because she didn't want to have to follow state regulations.

In 2001, the American Kennel Club suspended the Kerrs for not permitting an inspection of records and practices.

How can you properly care for almost 300 dogs?

I urge you to do more research on puppy mills. Some puppy mill owners sell the puppies to a broker for as little at $60 and then you are asked to pay $700-$1000. You can find a champion bred puppy from a AKC licensed breeder for $1000. The puppies are adorable but some of them could be very sick. Please stop buying from Pet Depot, you are only helping them hurt more puppies.

This is ridiculous, a bunch of grown adults crying about a couple of dead fish you people have no idea how much care any of those animals get, the fish are fed and tended to daily along with the fact that they are cleaned and vacuumed weekly. good care is brought to the animals there and you have no right at all to judge a whole business just because you see a couple of dead fish? i think maybe you should dig deeper instead of just bashing whats on the surface

I will NEVER shop at Pet Depot again. They treat their animals like garbage. One week I went in to find their betas (fish) on their SIDES, there was so little water in their tiny bowls. I told the cashier they needed water. Went in a few days later - same thing! Both cashiers, both times, turned red-faced and didn't say a word to me. I DESPISE Pet Depot. I do my food shopping at Endicott Tack and Feed where the prices are comparable and high quality. For other supplies, I go across Vestal Blvd to PetSmart. They are expensive, but sensitive to animals and animal causes.

I can not support any store that offers to sell these animals. If you wish to buy a puppy or a kitten, find a reputable local breeder where you can examine the living conditions and see the dam (and perhaps even the sire).
The store says that it gets its animals from local breeders, but if so, they are "back-yard" breeders that don't care about anything but making a buck. I've bred dogs myself, and I would never, under any circumstances, NEVER release a pup to a pet store. In thirty-plus years of breeding dogs, never have I met another reputable breeder that would either.

I am not really a big fan of pet depot. They are very pricey for their products. I just don't think that it is worth it. I would rather order the merchandise out of a catalogue and pay 1/3 of the price. I also believe that the staff there is a little bit rude. If they dont think that you are going to buy an animal for sure, they don't want to spend any time helping you or answering questions. I have been treated poorly there several times, and now I just avoid it all together.

Pet Depot has a very large inventory of any and all pet supplies!
You will find everything from fish tanks to cat toys to dog collars in all varieties and sizes. Their prices are higher than other stores in the area, though. I do buy my cat food there as it is the only store I can find this brand at.

Pet Depot in Vestal has one of the largest varieties of pet products in the area, but unfortunately their prices are also on the high end. Be prepared when you go to find all sorts of pet toys, and items that you will want to buy for your furry friend ~ just be prepared for "sticker shock!"

Pet Depot has puppies and kitties and a 20 foot wall of just collars and leads. If you prefer a bunny or ferret or mice they have them too. They do have fish, but seem to carry more tanks for sale then they do the fish to put in them. They also carry exotic pets and scurry little creepy crawly things for those that love those kind of pets too.

Pet Depot appears well stocked and the staff is knowledgeable when you need to ask a question about a product.

If it was not for the cost of shopping there I would go there all the time for my pet needs.

PROS: Mega Variety
CONS: High End Costs
