It really is too bad about the level of customer service this company provides. The citysearch comment line does not permit leaving negative or no stars and yes this company should not get a star. In fact based on the comments I have read today all with one star since that is the lowest allowed indicate this company should be reported to the New York State Insurance Department, the NAIC, AM Best, with request for marketing conduct audit and customer service audit.
Based on call today and being left on hold and the inability to leave a message: Negative 6 stars.

I called today at a bit after 4pm because I would like an application sent to me. I ended up calling a second time since not able to leave message first time.
My older daughter is currently a policyholder and my younger daughter recently graduated high school. Reason for calling was to request application for younger daughter.
Your phone system does not take messages.
The lady who took my call forwarded me to the same system (both times that I called) even though I requested to leave a message.
I can only imagione what policyholders must go thru to file a claim.

I've had NBL for life insurance for my children for years but the address was changed from Wisconsin to New York. I get put on hold when I try to contact NBL by phone to ask questions. What's up? Mom from San Antonio, Texas

Wow, NBL is absolutely terrible. I dropped them a couple years ago after they couldn't make simple changes to my policy without totally messing it up numerous times. I also found out that I was getting hosed on the cost. And to top it off, as said by everyone else, you CAN NOT talk to a human. I was on hold forever each time I called and was hung up on at exactly 4pm on my *last* call to this shoddy "business". Unreal! How does a company like this stay in business?

I read the other reviews & I think these people ae reading my mind. I called twice in one day, & after holding for 20 min.,I was hung up on. I called the next morning & after 15 min. was again hung up on. You can't talk to anyone.I can't believe you have any one that is insured by your company. After my policy expires in 3 months, I won't renue it. Trust me !!

Two years in a row (they said they had no record of the first form I sent), I've sent in a form to make a name change. Now, year three - no name change. Now I'm trying to call and the phone robot keeps hanging up on me. Maybe the prices are too good to be true.

I never had any problems before from NBL. The agent actually disclosed how my past insurance and their policy worked. They even helped me get out of a policy from another company I was getting ripped off on. I personally like NBL from my experience.

you can never speak to any one. i was on hold over two hours. all i wanted was to recieve a bill. you can't leave a message. the music is so wack & it's only on half the time so u think they hanged up on you.

this is the worse compnay to contact. I have called on two consecutive days just to request a claim fomr and both time I have been put on hold from 1 hour to 1 1/2 just to try to talk to an agent. all taht you hear is music.
