I have lived in the area for over fifteen years and have been using Bahman Cleaners since. They are very convenient to the NYU campus and the local community. Their service is fantastic - the friendly owner always remembers exactly how I like my clothes prepared. They are always accommodating when I need something in a hurry since they take care of all the work themselves. Also, they are very knowledgeable on how to take care of all types of clothing and anything else I have had cleaned. I highly recommend Bahman Cleaners.

I will never use Bahman Cleaners again. I moved into Soho two years ago and used them exclusively. Only after an order was returned with a "favorite" shirt missing and a coveted pair of very expensive pants holed and shrunken beyond repair did I begin to take stock of my losses. I then realized that I had lost over 10 shirts over the course of several months, in addition to the occasional damaged article from time to time. It happened so gradually (one here, one there) that I didn't notice until the recent order.

It's ashame that Bahman offered me nothing in the way of an apology, let alone even an admission that they could possibly be at fault. In fact, they went as far as to question my motive for calling and my building's integrity. They even went as far as to claim that there were many other satisfied customers in my building, a flat out lie. I followed up on this claim and learned that not only were there several UNSATISFIED customers, but also some that had been cheated for over a year by being charged someone else's dry cleaning to their credit card!

The $2,000 in lost clothes I can deal with. The dishonesty and questioning of my integrity I cannot and will not tolerate. I now use other cleaners and would STRONGLY suggest that people discontinue or never use Bahman again.

I'll never return. I work around the corner, and with some hesitation, I brought a complicated alteration to them which was done very sloppily. Loose threads of many different colors, missing snaps, and there was a stitch sewn right into the skirt that made it impossible to physically put the dress on. The alternation looked really bad, and I know if I had brought it to a proper tailor, not a workbench in a dry-cleaners, it would have been much more presentable.

They argued that it was exactly what I had asked for, but the work was sloppy, and there was no care taken to actually make it look good. I feel that they ruined my dress, and I will be taking it to my regular, more expensive tailor to fix it. I guess you get what you pay for.

Not sure I agree with the other two reviewers - I have always been happy with the service at Bahman. Quick turnaround on regular dry cleaning. And there's basically no other place to get tailoring done nearby. Leather cleaning is VERY expensive though.

Based on 2 reviews, any average is unfair, and so is a review based on 3. But hey, unlike the transients who wrote the first 2 reviews (a student and trendoid who frequents the Atrium-gasp!), I actually LIVE here and I've been paying this vendor for over 10 years. They are simply superb in their care and wanting to get it right. Recently, I needed drapes done vite and afterwards, they asked, was there a stain we didn't get? C'mon! My husband's shirts are great, my clothes are finished well. I even give them my rugs. Furthermore, if you had any ideas about being a dry cleaner in the Soho hood, fuhgedditaboutit. These naibs call up and want delivery in 15 minutes like this is DryCleaningNation. The obnoxious factor in this area would make a fashion magazine editor uncomfortable....so, look, take the prior reviews for the same worth you are taking mine. I've had problems with dry cleaners since Blue on Liberty Avenue in the 1950s but all cleaning presents problems. That's the dif between mine and theirs. And yes, the tailor did re-line my antique-ish coat and made a lousy comment to me and so what? Do you think tailors are slaves to your hemlines? They have AUTONOMY, just like this reviewer. Smile and bye.

Not only is the place overpriced, but they don't like cleaning clothes. Every single time I have dropped something off, the guy has a reason why he thinks cleaning it is a bad idea. One time it was a velvet jacket - "the button might fall off" - then it was a suede skirt - "no guarantee suede won't rip" - last it was a silk blouse - "silk is very tricky." Yeah dude - I get it. That's why it's Dry Clean Only. This place is a rip-off. Somebody please open a legit Dry cleaners in Noho - I'll give you ALL my business.

Pros: they are the only nearby dry-cleaners

When you spend $200+ on a pair of jeans, you want to make sure that the hems look good after the fact, so I asked around for a good tailor. I was actually referred to this place for alterations by Atrium (needless to say, I won't take their advise again). I needed 2 pairs of jeans hemmed & they actually REFUSED ME! The tailor had the nerve to say that the job was going to be a headache for him & he didn't want to do it, because he had too much work to do! I would absolutely not recommend this place, especially knowing the the other review said thatthey do a poor job of cleaning garment on top of it all. Hope they get shut down or new ownership at least in the near future.

PROS:
CONS: RUDE

As an NYU law student, I decided to go to this cleaners since it was located right next door to the law school dorm, and because I was coincidentally good friends with an Iranian named Bahman. The first day I went there then, I got into a nice conversation with the owner, who is also from Iran; he's very nice and good to talk to, so I recommend the place on a friendliness basis. I have to say though that I'm not necessarily the happiest with the service I got for actual laundry stuff so far. While I had a pair of pants shortened that came out very well, the two things I sent in for cleaning didn' come back in the best condition - the first one still had a stain on it that they said they couldn't remove, and the second item suddenly had a thread that had come loose. Now - quite possibly it is the case that the first shirt had a stain no one could have gotten rid of; and quite possibly the second shirt was just bad quality (which sometimes banana republic is). I just thought I'd mention it. Regardless, there is usually a long line there - so I'm sure other people are having better experiences.

Both the dry cleaners and laundry next door are very expensive (for an average job). I guess they take advantage of rich NYU kids, but I won't go back here.
