My only dealing since my purchase in 2009 was with the service department August 2015. My 2006 Honda Civic was leaking coolant and had a known tech bulletin out for the issue. I called the service department and was able to get an appointment very quickly. My car was looked at and it was deemed to need a new engine block per the Honda extended warranty for the tech bulletin. They were very communicative and had my car back to me in 2 days, and provided a free loaner car (which was a very nice Accord). We picked up the car just before closing on a Friday and noted that the A/C wasn't working. We had just paid $1200 to get it fixed a few months earlier, and because we were in a rush to get to my nephew's 7th birthday party, we figured we would handle it later. On our way there, the check engine light came on. I was on my way out of town, and the light was going on and off sporadically. My husband called and got an appointment for the next Monday. I took the car in and explained that the A/C wasn't working and asked if they would just check the work, since I just had it repaired. Again, no problem, got a loaner and was off to work. I receive a call about an hour later that they "forgot" to put tech notes on the paperwork that my A/C wasn't working when they did the engine test drive. I again, explained that it was working that morning and that we just recently had it repaired. I was told that there was nothing that they can do, but if I wanted to pay for service, they would take a look at it. I told them that I would be there in the hour to pick up my car. I took my car to my mechanic (Mike at Midas on South Bay Rd in Syracuse) and asked them if they could take a look and let me know what the issue was with the A/C. Chad called me later to let me know that the issue was, when they replaced the engine block, that instead of disconnecting the A/C hoses and vacuuming them out and then reconnecting after the service was completed, that 'sometimes' mechanics like the remove the hoses and 'let it ride'. All Chad did was reconnect my A/C hoses and recharge my A/C and I was right as rain. Had Honda City bothered to take a look at their own work, I would like to think that they would have seen this error in their workmanship. Instead, they decided to treat me as if I was someone trying to 'get over' on them. Thankfully my mechanic is honest and didn't charge my for Honda City's mistake (which I would have gladly billed to Honda City). This is one of the main reasons that I (and I am sure others) NEVER take their car to the dealer for service. They are in the business of selling cars and not maintaining cars. Unfortunately my buying experience in 2009 was great, but this entire episode has made me a NON Honda City buyer.

An excellent car buying experience. I drove my last Honda for 11 years because I didn't want to go through the ordeal of getting a new car. This time, we purchased from Honda City, and I was pleasantly surprised. I test drove two

Very rude and horrible customer service. My husband and I recently traded our Civic for Odyssey. The sales rep. was rude unhelpful, and lied to us many times about prices and montly payments. I would never reconmmend them to anyone!

I've always had decent service. I'd like to comment on 1laila's review about the broken windshield - I've had a similiar incident, where I brought my car in and my driver's side mirror was broken during the time it was in their possession. They fixed it promptly and did not charge me a cent. They were apologetic and very friendly throughout the situation. I've been going back to them for Honda service since.

There is a salesman named David Abatello that is an acoholic who drives customer and new cars while intoxicated with the customers in them. He has been through numerous rehabs and still he has a problem with drinking on the job and endangering himself, employees and the public. I have had several complaints from customers and employees about this concern. I went and talked to the General Manager Ralph Totora and the owner George Townsend several times, yet nothing seems to be done about it. This is a serious problem and needs to be delt with promptly. Second is Honda City has a New York State Inspection license and technitions that are not certified or licensed are doing N.Y.S Inspections illegally with no supervision or a license. I have had customers tell me that they went to another dealership or repair facility and things were found to be wrong when the techs. said all is well with the vehicle. If you have someone randomely pull the repair orderes you will see that the tech paid and the tech that was supposed to do the nysi will not match the tech that did the work on the vehicle. Not only is this a safety issue it is faslely telling the customer that there vehicle was checked out by a nysi certified tech. Third is Honda City claims to use a shop manual called Mitchell on demand which is a shop labor rate guide. They do not use this guide and overcharge customers by over 200 %. If the job calls for .4 of an hour Honda City will charge 1.5 or 2.0 hours. I have brought that to the service managers attention Mark Gonya and my co advisors and the advisors agree that this is not right, but Mark the service manager seems to want to keep this quite.

Terrible business. My co-worker brought her CRV in for Oil change and NYS Inspection. They changed oil and did inspection. Put NYS Inspection sticker on windshield. They passed vehicle for inspection. Then sometime after that ,during their possesion of the vehicle, the windshield got broken.

When my coworker picked up her vehicle they explained that somehow this was her fault, they denied liability, and told her to get it off their property. They refused to repair the windshield, and refused to pay for the damage.

She should have filed police report for property damage.

The Older service "Manager" was rude nasty and told her that under no circumstance would they accept liablity.

This business should be ashamed of their foul tactics. Beware of their unlawful disregard for you property while in their possession.

I visited Honda City with my husband seriously looking to purchase a vehicle. The salespeople did not give us the time of day, even after we asked to speak with some one about having a test drive on a certain vehicle. I don't know if it is because they thought since we were younger than their usual customer that we couldn't afford such a vehicle (surprise--we ended up buying from Lamacchia Honda! Your loss). I will never visit them again, and have told others about my experience. What a pity...don't shop Honda City.
