I used to live by an Ess a Bagel, and I miss it dearly! The bagels are good (better than H+H!), and better than any bagels I can find in Portland (obviously).

I LOVE Ess-a-bagel. My brother moved to NC and whenever I visit I always bring him a dozen and some lox. On weekends the lines go around the block so strike early. Good tofu cream cheese too.

They're not H&H my personal favorites but they make a nice bagel. The service is quick and they have a decent selection of cream cheese to schmear on your bagel. They make a decent cup of coffee and if you're in Midtown and need a fix these guys are bagel professionals.
