1 Stars: NO Way!!! (by M John)

If you are not rich and can afford to pay out of pocket - don't go!!! Dr. Sid is a scam! He told me that I would have to pay approximately $2,000 out of pocket and I agreed to do it with a monthly payment plan. Well he lied and it quickly turned into $8,900 which I obviously cannot afford. He then has his support staff try to pressure you into continuing visits by trying to convince you that "your health is the most important thing" even moreso than your mortgage. What a scam!!!

1 Stars: S.C.A.M. (by StevenJ1)

This place is a total scam and "Dr." Sid is a business man, not a doctor.
I visited after meeting Dr. Sid at my gym. When I showed up to his office, the next two patients to leave both had disagreements with the secretary about the prices they had been quoted vs charged. I should have heeded this sign.
Half an hour after our scheduled meetnig time, Dr. Sid did a brief consultation in a back room, I explained that I had symptons of IT band syndrome. Immediately Dr. Sid suggested that we should do X rays. Sign # 2. I had been offerred massage therapy but now X rays were necessary. He assured me he could work on my leg without the Xrays, but that the problem would come back. Right.
Next we went into a room, Dr. Sid massaged my IT band for 4 minutes, and we did a leg extension exersize for 3 minutes. Then Dr. Sid abruptly left the room and told me he'd see me up front. A 7 minute session, no work on the other leg, no advice for excersizes or training, nothing. And counting only my insurance co-pay, this was at the reasonable rate of $257 per hour. Not even getting into the rate based on what was charged to the insurance company.
This place is a joke, "Dr." Sid is a business man taking advantage if ignorant consumers and unknowing insurance companies. When you walk into his office and see people hanging from various contraptions in plain view from the waiting room, you should take your stuff and leave.
Strongly reccomend against visiting here.

**Also, it is an amazing coincidence that all of the 5 star reviews here are by people who have only reviewed one place...they are fabricated by Dr. Sid

5 Stars: Pain and Migraine Free! (by Moshacapea)

As a recent college graduate, I wasn't expecting to be in debilitating back and neck pain just a few weeks after starting my first full time job. I tried to let the pain dissipate on its own, however I soon found myself unable to get through a full day at work. I looked for chiropractors located near my office, but was disappointed by the results and felt as though I was wasting money and time. I then did a bit of research and found Dr. Sid.

I can now honestly say that he is a miracle worker. Immediately after my first visit I was able to move with substantially less pain. As I have been in treatment for two months I now feel a HUGE difference. I am in almost no pain and my posture is much more aligned. I can also see these results, as Dr. Sid does follow up x-rays. In addition, I have been a migraine sufferer for the past 8 years. While nothing has ?cured? my migraines, medication has kept them under control. A major unexpected and added benefit to Dr. Sid?s treatment is that I am now migraine free and weaning myself off of my medication.

To highlight just some of the elements that distinguish Dr. Sid and his office:

Professionalism: Dr. Sid and his entire staff are extremely professional.

Accommodation: The office does everything possible to make sure that you can get an appointment when it is convenient for you. Dr. Sid has even stayed after hours to treat me when I was having an especially hectic week.

Comfort: The office is extremely comfortable and well run. In addition, Dr. Sid and his entire staff are extremely understanding and compassionate.

Time Management: The office does their best to have you in and out in a reasonable time frame (there is rarely a wait, but when there is you can take advantage of the acupressure massage chairs or begin exercises early).

Fun: As treatment with Dr. Sid involves a time commitment that includes both exercises at home and time in his office, the fact that he and his staff are so easy to get along with and try to make the experience fun really makes a big difference.

Massage: The massage staff at Esprit Wellness is highly trained and highly professional. They know how to target the necessary areas and release muscle tension.

Angela: Angela keeps the office running smoothly with a smile and it is wonderful to be greeted by her both on the telephone and in person.

Continuing Education: Dr. Sid keeps up to date and provides his patients with the most effective tools chiropractic care has to offer.

Ambiance: The office is Zen like.

Dr. Sid: I have been to many chiropractors in my life, but none like Dr. Sid. His method of adjusting, stretching, and use of Active Release Techniques (ART) distinguish him far above most if not all of the other chiropractors in the NY metropolitan area.

Finally, to address the post below, as mentioned previously I have been under Dr. Sid?s care for two months. As Dr. Sid accepts my insurance, every visit and all treatment (x-rays, massage, adjustments, etc.) are covered by my co-pay. While my co-pay is $30 per visit, I am aware that other patients co-pays vary (some are smaller, some are larger). Dr. Sid is, in my opinion, worth every penny. However, I would certainly recommend checking with your insurance company and speaking with Angela before partaking in any treatment above your budget. Dr. Sid?s practice uses state of the art equipment and actually spends time with every patient making sure that their needs are met and that they are on track for recovery ? his office is certainly not trying to rip anyone off.

1 Stars: Very expensive (by Xiaoran)

I went to the office 4 times for neck problems but stopped going due to the high cost of treatment. You can judge the competency and professionalism of this doctor based on your first visit/consultation, however, beware of the cost.

Here is the list of charges for my 1st visit on August 4th, 2009:

Office Visit: $250
Rehab Therapy: $90
Rehab Therapy: $90
Chiro Manip Spine: $90
Radiology-Spine: $160
Radiology-Spine: $160
Rehab Therapy: $70

These were the claims (taken verbatim) sent to my insurance company, these charges are for ONE office visit. This visit consisted of a short conversation with the doctor regarding the problem I've been experiencing (10 minutes), X-Rays (15 minutes), a massage (15 minutes) and Electro Therapeutic Point Stimulation (a technology where a small amount of electric current is used to relax the muscle). The usage of this device on my first visit was more of a demo rather than a full treatment.

I was not properly informed of the cost of treatment. These charges are not justified. The 4 visits I had in August (just one month!) came out to over $2000. I was totally in shock after receiving the paperwork from my insurance company last Friday. I am going to do everything possible in my power to have each of these charges explained before making any payment. I will also do everything in my power to make sure this does not happen to anyone else.

5 Stars: Simply the Best! (by swampfox999)

I met a member of Dr. Sid's staff at a company health fair. I described the hip and leg pain I was experiencing for months with no relief from traditional doctors and chiropractors and he informed me of Dr. Sid's use of ART, traditional chiropractic treatment, acupuncture cupping and other techniques to help heal soft tissue and muscle issues, as well as issues related to spinal misalignment. He said he was sure that Dr. Sid would find the right combination of treatments for my symptoms, so I decided to give Dr. Sid a try. Wow, was that a fortunate meeting. Dr. Sid xrayed my neck, back and hip, examined the problem area, and based on his analysis of my condition as well as the xrays, he designed a treatment regimen that was tailored to my condition. I can honestly say that after one treatment involving massage, ART treatment, and a traditional chiropractic realignment, my pain was reduced by 90%. The next morning I could tie my shoes nearly pain free for the first time in months. It really was miraculous. After that, my treatment regimen has reduced my pain further to the point that it is nearly entirely gone. Dr. Sid's treatment is unique. The combination of phenomenal massages from Ade, or the two Marks, exercises involving hip rotation and movement, stretching exercises, ART, acupuncture cups, and traditional chiropractic alignment is something you won't find anywhere else. What's more, besides being professional and competent, Dr. Sid, his wellness staff and receptionist Angela, make you feel welcome and comfortable from day 1. The environment is friendly and relaxed, yet it is one of serious concern for getting you better. I just wish Dr. Sid had an office in New Jersey too, so that my wife and daughter, an advanced golfer and ski racer, would be able to reap the benefits of Dr. Sid's healing touch.

5 Stars: Immediate Relief from Lower Back Pain (by AimeeLovesYou)

Esprit Wellness provides an excellent service. I have worked with chiropractors in the past, so I do have a point of reference. I highly recommend Dr. Sid. After my first day of working with him I had immediate relief from my lower back pain. (I was really surprised by how quickly I saw results.) Three treatments later I was free of pain and able to work and enjoy life again. Dr. Sid is personable, knowledgeable and sincere in his practice. Esprit Wellness is a well-run business with a helpful staff that has great energy. The environment is professional and comfortable. They respect your time and care about your wellbeing. The atmosphere is very healing and relaxing (when you wait for the therapist you sit in an amazing message chair). The whole experience is definitely a pleasure. I feel fortunate that I found Dr. Sids practice. I look forward to every visit.

5 Stars: Massage and Cupping Therapy (by HappyMe)

Dr. Sids has chosen the very best therapists to assist him in his practice. The therapy I received from his massage therapist Ade was the best Ive ever had. Ades technique is very focused and intuitive. I said very little to him yet he was able to go directly to areas that needed the most attention. I had continued relief after this session. I highly recommend getting therapy from Dr. Sid and his team at Esprit Wellness.

Dr Sid procedures are very different from the others Doctors that I went to in the pass, he has this new technology machine and manual procedures that does wonders for you. Also till this day which is a month from the time I saw him I have been pain free. That's why you should look up ESPRIT WELLINESS.

5 Stars: Significant results from the 1st visit (by BarbaraCarmichael)

I recently discovered a torn ligament in my shoulder through an MRI. I had been advised by my MD that my options were to exercise it, have surgery or suffer. After three months of exercise there was zero improvement and still too much suffering. With a little research I found Dr. Sid. He used a technique called ART. I had a significant increase in mobility from the first treatment. I find Dr. Sid caring, professional and ever seeking the latest in natural treatment.

For the last four years, I have been surviving on the occasional 2-4 hours sleep throughout the course of the day until I was referred to Esprit Wellness and meet Dr. Sid. I am forever grateful to my friend for referring me to this amazing practice that I never thought could exist especially in the core of New York City.

5 Stars: A MUST FOR MUSICIANS / PERFORMING ARTISTS!!!!! (by EMeans)

Dr. Sid is a miracle worker!!!
I first discovered him about two years ago when I moved to NYC. He came highly recommended to me from my chiropractor in Los Angeles. Having already experienced excellent chiropractic care, I knew that it was absolutely necessary to my success as a professional musician to find an exceptional chiropractor with experience in treating performing artists. And I certainly have!!!

From our first meeting, I was impressed by Dr. Sid's professionalism, expertise, sincerity, listening skills (not always present in doctors!!!) and high-tec office (which includes only the best and most current technologies that are personally screened and tested by Dr. Sid first before making it available to his patients. He also regularly attends seminars and conferences to make sure he's up-to-date on everything.)

His compassionate and truly wonderful office assistant, Angela Martinez, is key to Esprit Wellness' success. She graciously schedules appointments, handles insurance companies/claims (and all the headaches associated with this!), and is Dr. Sid's right-hand lady! I love arriving at the office and being greeted by her friendly face!

After an initial and through examination of my person/medical history, Dr. Sid set up a treatment program which not only included a chiropractic adjustment but also physical therapy exercises and therapeutic massage by a professional masseur!!! Awesome!!! Let's just say I'm in heaven when I walk out of his office. My body is relaxed, balanced, aligned and ready to conquer the world again.

As a professional musician, my appointments with Dr. Sid are absolutely essential, not only for my general well-being, but also for preventing playing related/repetitive stress injuries. With my spine in line, my body is allowed to take care of itself NATURALLY - no pills, no prescriptions. Since beginning treatment with Dr. Sid, I have developed healthier habits for a fuller, happier, and better balanced life.

5 Stars: Not your average chiropractor. (by Tom05)

I moved to NYC a couple years ago and was in search of alternative health care. I never liked taking prescription meds, cortisone shots, or other forms of masking pain. I would rather fix problems for good. So after a friend of mine spoke so highly of this midtown doctor I went to Esprit Wellness. I had multiple issues: low back pain, a slowly recovering bicep tendon tear, and a nagging knot in my back I had since college sports 7 years ago. I have been to many chiropractors before this was like no other. First you walk in to this nice 17th floor office in Midtown, only about a 5 min walk from Grand Central to be greeted by the wonderful staff. The waiting room is not chairs with old magazines its a serene space with relaxing music ...and massage chairs!!! Then to the therapy, I worked with a therapist before seeing the doctor who worked out some knots and adhesions in the muscles with some very deep tissue work...amazing. Then the doctor came in and performed some ART (Active Release Technique), which come to find out was able to alleviate the sports injury from years ago after only a few sessions (I had physical therapy and probably at least a hundred deep tissue massages to try to correct this before with no success). Having used to be a serious athlete I have been to a lot of chiropractors for regular maintenance and alignment so I know a good adjustment. Dr. Sid is an expert at adjusting. He is very well trained and is so specific with his adjustments that you only feel the adjustments where you should be feeling it (if you are lucky enough to have been to a good chiropractor you know how important this is). He is truly a master of his craft which includes much more than just chiropractic. I also have a friend who just started a scoliosis treatment program at Esprit and has seen impressive results, a wonderful alternative to the invasive scoliosis surgery she was contemplating. I would highly recommend Esprit Wellness to anyone seeking relief from pain.

5 Stars: Highly recommended (by rschlack)

I have multiple herniated disks that have caused me considerable pain over the past 2 to 3 years. One large bulge in my lower back and 2 in my upper back. After 4 other chiropractors, 1 neurologist a pain specialist and 2 epidurals, I have finally found some relief at Esprit Wellness. Dr. Sid was able to help with my pain after a few visits and for the first time in 2 years I?ve had a mostly pain free week. Before starting my treatments I was taking up to 12 ibuprofens a day. I was really starting to get scared that I was headed toward kidney failure. I am now completely off the Motrin. Needless to say, I highly recommend Esprit Wellness Chiropractic and Dr. Sid.

5 Stars: Personalized Skillful Care... (by MissF)

By the time I visited Esprit Wellness, I had suffered with years of neck and back pain. I had been visiting another medical office where I would have limited chiropractic adjustments, physical therapy and trigger point injections. I was prescribed with a strong medication for arthritis which I avoided taking. That office also referred me for a back surgery consultation and I was leery of that recommendation.
Then, a coworker recommended Esprit Wellness to me. From my first visit there, I started to feel an improvement in my condition. The office setting is peaceful and inviting. Dr. Sid and the therapists gave me individual attention and skillful care. I like to learn and understand and Dr. Sid patiently answered my questions and shared his knowledge on ways to improve my back, neck and overall health. He customized the treatment for me and provided effective ways to treat my condition without trigger point injections or other prescriptions.
Dr. Sid continues to research and stays on the cutting edge of his field, thus offering his patients the best in care. He has used several methods and tools and exercises to improve my situation. I have experienced a great decrease in my neck and back pain since I have been visiting Esprit Wellness on a regular basis. I do not need back surgery and I now feel better than ever. I highly recommend Dr. Sid and his staff.

5 Stars: Esprit Wellness and Dr. Sid is a Must! (by Navy95)

Dr. Sid and his staff at Esprit Wellness are without equal. They are polite, consultative and highly creative; they care about your health. I've had major back and neck problems and have visited a number of different chiropractors in the city; they all rushed me in and out. I was not a valued patient and did not feel better or make improvements. Thus, I gave up on chiropractors.

But luckily, my pal Rob, a top triahlete in the world, recommended Dr. Sid. Thankfully I took Rob's advice. I am very glad that I found Dr. Sid. His techniques have helped put the curve back in my neck and have helped me feel better overall. I'm hooked. I feel a lot better and owe a lot to Dr. Sid for helping me understand my physical health.

Visit Dr. Sid and his staff. I guarantee that you will feel much better.

5 Stars: Dr. Sid fixed my banged up shoulder (by zitronen)

I've had a shoulder impingement on my right side for about 8 years, during which I moaned a lot about it but didn't do much to solve it. I think I overdid it doing shoulder presses at the gym and was in pain ever since. It limited my range of motion terribly - couldn't hold doors open for people or reach into the back seat of my car - every exertion made it ache, and sometimes keep me up at night. I couldn't even touch my hands behind my back. I had done some periodic exercizes and occasional therapy, but nothing on a consistant basis. So, Dr. Sid started Active Release Techniques (ART) on me three times a week for the first few weeks, along with a brief targeted massage, a rest in a wonderful massage chair, and a chiropractic adjustment. Anyway, after doing the ART, I quickly noticed improved range of motion and less pain. We started out 3 times a week for a few weeks, then twice a week for a few weeks, now I'm down to once a week. The sessions are pretty tough, - think big tight pinching in very specific spots- but it's over quickly and the benefits are almost instant. My trainer at the gym has me doing increasingly challanging shoulder exercizes and I'm feeling stonger with no pain. From the world's biggest skeptic, Dr. Sid has won a convert. He is Magic! Highly recommended & would recommend friends & family. Thanks Dr. Sid!!

5 Stars: Great Therapy for Athletes (by RJDeMarx)

I was fortunate to meet Dr. Sid one evening at the gym. As an Ironman triathlete years of swimming was starting to seriously affect my left shoulder. My own research seemed to indicate the popular ?swimmers shoulder? syndrome and I was at a point where I couldn?t get through a swim session without considerable pain followed by discomfort days later. I was starting to convince myself that swimming 3 times a week just wouldn?t be an option anymore. Then I learned about Active Release, a therapy which breaks-up accumulated scar tissue, restores functional movement, and has an excellent success rate. I knew I needed the treatment but was always either too busy or had some other excuse why I couldn?t schedule an appointment. I?m certainly glad that I went to see Dr. Sid because through his Active Release sessions I?m back in the pool again with little if any discomfort and with each session my shoulder continues to improve. I am so relieved that Dr. Sid has been able to correct years of accumulated damage and continue something I enjoy. Once again I?m able to lift weights and do other excercises like push-ups which used to hurt. Dr. Sid also made me aware of the causes for some other neck and back issues I was having and through his adjustments I?m feeling stronger and healthier overall. Dr. Sid is passionate about his practice and completely client focused. Also, the spa like environment feels like a treat to visit his office.

5 Stars: Zen-Like Healing Oasis in Midtown (by MaryAranas)

At Esprit Wellness, the amiable "Dr. Sid" wields his experience and expertise (see above two reviews) in a peaceful, beautiful space that feels more like a spa than a medical office. As a physically active, full-time Yoga teacher, city cyclist, scooter commuter, and mother of an active boy, I find I always feel stronger, more relaxed, knots and tensions eased, when I've received an adjustment from Dr. Sid. He strongly believes in education, and his medical massage therapists are great, too. My personal half-hour "spa" in the midst of a busy workday or week is going there to get an adjustment, whether for a pain or tightness or just for fatigue or to boost my immunity during a busy period - and then reclining in one of their luxurious, full-length massage chairs in the quiet, soothing room that provides a resting space before or after your adjustment. My favorite program is the: Acupressure. The AM and PM programs are great, too - anytime! Take your time over several visits to try them all! The atmosphere of the tastefully appointed space, the staff, and Dr. Sid are a welcome oasis of serenity dedicated to natural healing and sensibly backed by experience and knowledge, right in midtown.

5 Stars: Wellness for Body and Mind! (by msdnyc89)

I met Dr. Sid at my gym. I had been having pain in my elbow that was really interfering with my weight lifting. He talked with me about Active Release Technique, a hands on therapy to break up the scar tissue and "stuff" (highly technical and really needs to be explained by him!). He is also a chiropractor, but if you have been to one before, be prepared for a totally new experience. His office is amazing! Calming, peaceful, zen-like. The tables for the chiro work are right out in the open...no rabbit warren of adjustment rooms. You start out in one of the cool, really effective massage chairs, then move to a therapy room for a mini-therapeutic massage...really good hands on hand! Dr. Sid's chiro adjustments are effective and delivered always with humor! The ART has been amazingly successful for me. After having to drop my lifting weight dramatically due to the pain, I am now (in less than three months) back to lifting more (pain free) than when I started the therapy. Thanks, Dr. Sid!

5 Stars: Excellent Chiropractic skills and scoliosis evaluation (by CaraC1)

I had met Dr. Sid through a friend of a friend who recommended him when I told them I was experiencing some back pain and was diagnosed with a slight case of scoliosis early in my childhood. From the moment I stepped into the wellness center, I began to feel very relaxed. At first he spoke to me, talked about everything I was experiencing with my pain and running down my history. After explaining alot of what he does and taking some x-rays, he explained to me full detail how the curve in my spine effected some of the other areas of my body which could be resulting in my pain. As A kid I never even really knew what scoliosis meant but he really made me understand what was going on. He also was not quick at all to have me wear a brace which many other doctors are quick to recommend. After a series of chiropractic procedures, Dr Sid showed me how he could help remedy my situation and I immediatley began to feel better in my back after performing these exercises. I can not wait to begin seeing him on a regular basis to reliveve my back pain in the future. Dr. Sid is also very patient and really has a way of making his patients understand and feel comfortable. Thanks!

5 Stars: Expert Prenatal Natural Chiropractic and Massage (by shen11)

I recently gave birth to my first child! Throughout my pregnancy I experienced much discomfort - nausea, headaches, low back & pelvic pain, and front thigh numbness and tingling. My baby was also in breech position until the 36th week. I am grateful I was referred to Dr. Aatif Siddiqui ("Dr. Sid") for drugless, non-noninvasive, alternative care.

I really enjoyed my care under Dr. Sid. I found him to be very proficient in the special needs of pregnant women and familiar with the common complaints associated with each stage of pregnancy. I loved how he took the time to educate me on matters that were a concern to me - lower back pain, pelvis pain, nutrition. Dr. Sid also uses state-of-art equipment and procedures designed specifically for pregnant women. He holds post doctorate education in pre/post natal care, pediatrics, and scoliosis (for children). He is also certified in Webster Technique. A technique employed on pregnant moms whose baby presents breech. I experienced this technique to be a gentle adjustment that focused on the alignment of my pelvis, sacrum, pubic bone, and attachment of my uterine ligament. I continue to see Dr. Sid for my post-natal care. He has been helpful in alleviating the pain and discomfort in my shoulders as a result of my breastfeeding. He is using Active Release Techniques on me. And, I love it!

All in all I felt very safe and relieved I found Dr. Sid at a time when I was in great need of responsible, natural, and effective pre-natal chiropractic care. I highly encourage him. BTW he too is a recent daddy which makes him that much more understanding and knowledgeable in my eyes.
