DO NOT USE! They cheat concerned dog owners out of their money. They offer certificate programs for rescue dogs then add fraudulent charges onto bills to cover the money they loss with the certificate.

I purchased a certificate for spaying and neutering from http://Muffins.org, a gesture of one rescue group helping another. The certificate was $52 and was supposed to cover the surgery, exam and anesthesia. It did not cover bloodwork and medicine, which was a cost, estimated by other vets at $150, my bill came out to almost $400. $400!!! For a neuter on a rescue dog. The invoice was laced with tests that were not required by any other clinic except Lex Vet Group. Tests that add up to $285.00 of additional costs, which is criminal.

I see no reason why 2 fecal tests are needed for a routine surgery. A Giardia test and a Fecal Ova Floatation Exam, essentially test for the same things, yet they charged me $85.00 for these 2 tests. What is convenient is the fact that on the invoice it says that the Muffins certificate covers an $85.00 fee. Essentially they get the fee back that the certificate would have covered. I arrived at the clinic with no stool sample to perform these tests, yet they were evidently performed. Now whether they really were performed is a different story. Also, they charge $194.00 for a bloodwork panel, for a rescue dog. When I questioned these tests I was informed that they were necessary and required and no surgery would be performed without them. I felt pressured to get these tests done so that I could get my dog neutered and maintain the health of my dog.

On top of that my dog required additional pain medicine, because the pain medicine the clinic gave me did not treat him effectively. He spent hours and hours howling in pain. This medicine was an additional $35.00 cost passed on to me. A cost that at this point, I could not afford yet found the money to do so because I care about my dog, something you and this clinic clearly do not.

Do not use this clinic and avoid if possible.

As a resident of Midtown for many years and an animal owner, I feel lucky to have such a wonderful facility located in my neighborhood. I have always found the staff helpful, friendly and warm. They don't hesitate to go the extra mile for you or your pet. I bring my personal animals to Lex Vet, as well as many rescue dogs who often need extra care or treatment for injuries. I have the highest respect for Dr. Silvers. He is compassionate, efficient, and an animal owner himself. If you want quality care for your pets, I recommend making an appointment, you won't be disappointed.

Pros: location, quality of service

I was referred to this place by a friend of mine who takes his cat there. I find the staff to be courteous and Dr. Silvers is exceptional. I was a bit skeptical about going to a place I hadn't been before, but after meeting the doctors I was put at ease. They were nice and explained to me what needed to be done, but never forced me to take services I didn't need. I did look around at other hospitals and I find their fees to be competitive for the most part. If you decide to choose to this place, you will find the staff really cares about the well being of your pet and not about how much they can make off of you.
