This is a fun, hip spot to pop into to have lunch while shopping in the Soho area. Food isn't any better than other asian restaurants, but you get a clean, stylish restaurant to eat in. Love their bi bim bop!

I have been coming here for years. Just love the food. I've had huge bday parties or just intimate more personal dinners with friends many times.
Lunch time it's similar to when you order on the streets in Asia... you order and they scream at you when it's done... except I know they washed the dishes here. def. try the malaysian or bangkok curry noodles or the duck broth with duck and wontons.

Dinner time it's dim lighting. sometimes too dark.
BUT I love the duck salad, scallion pancakes, and s&p shrimp (even though they fry it with the shell ~ eat it while it's hot), bulgogui, ribs, tamarind duck, massaman curry is good, but I liked it with the chicken and avacado, love the chicken with this papaya salad. cocktails are really good too.

I pretty much love everything. the only thing is the kitchen is opened so the smell of food kind of lingers in my hair, but a spray of perfume usually gets rid of it. one time I went out and this guy said... you smell like food and making me hungry!!!! hahaha
oh, and there's only one bathroom... sooo wait in line... def makes sure you lock the door. I'm not sure if they fixed it, but I always open the door on someone... can't get enough of this place.

Cons: 1 bathroom?

This past Sunday, late and hungry, I had to get some snacks for a SuperBowl Party. While walking down my friend's street looking for a place to buy pizza, I saw this place. If it weren't for my previous PARTY commitment, I'd have stayed the night for another hot toddy, beer and whatever great GIANT bowl of soup the bartender picked for me. Something with the word Malasya in it.

It warmed me up while I waited for the AWESOME scallion pancakes and spring rolls I took to the party.

The Saints were not the only ones to score that night.

I just have to say for the price, this is about the worst Asian food I ever had in my life. The dumplings were ALL dumpling and a sliver of shrimp inside... and their pricey calamari salad was a small bowl of lettuce with some sliver of carrots, drenched in dressing, and some small overcooked fried gross calamari. I am completely amazed that this place was busy, thinking the location is what is saving this establishment from utter ruin. One word: YUK!

Kelley & Ping is a great stop for lunch and a sit down. Wonderful, fresh food, made to order. Decor is enchanting. Prices are good. There is a wide tea selection also. Try to Thai ice coffee.

Great Thai food at reasonable prices in Soho - very hard to come by. Family friendly and kids are entertained by the watching the cooks work in the kitchen in the middle of the restaurant.

Had dinner on a Saturday night with a group of about 10 people. We were seated right away and drink orders were taken immediately. Our group shared about 15 dishes in total and it was the perfect amount of food for everyone. Wine menu was limited but well chosen, and their cocktails were that lethal combination of tasty and potent. The best thing about Kelley and Ping was the excellent service. Our food arrived quickly and our glasses were never empty yet we never felt rushed and were perfectly comfortable lingering over our after dinner drinks. We would definitely go there again!

Asian food is my forte. This place does not serve it. It had its time 10 years ago, and it has passed.

Rude, Rude staff.

Poor service! No wait staff. Do it yourself, service, like in a college cafeteria yet exorbitant prices. Not very clean.

Long waits.

Go to PEEP nearby at 177 Prince, if you want tasty authentic pan-Asian food.

This place isn't amazing, but by all means not as bad as the reviews portray it. I can't help but say that their Vietnamese noodles are some of my favorite. Always filling, generally quick delivery, reasonable prices. Their pad thai, on the other hand, is unusually disgusting.

Don't waste your calories, time or money. Three of us went there last night and should have been suspicious that there was no wait at 8pm on Friday night. We ordered the sampler appetizer plate - which was fine, boring, but nothing wrong with it. Then we each ordered an entre - a chicken dish which was supposed to have broccoli but only had a few stems, it tasted like chinese food not thai food and might have had msg given the headache it gave my friend - a veggie pad thai in which the noodles were undercooked and the flavor was so bizarre it might have had fake maple syrup in it- and a red curry in banana leaf which also had a very strange flavor I have never had before and never want to have again, red curry flavor was no where to be found. I don't blame the waiter, he was new and clueless but the horrible food wasn't his fault. I have no idea what is going on in that kitchen but I can promise you I will not be going back! YUCK!

I've been twice. The first time around it was ok (somewhat soggy noodles). The second time however it was so bad I haven't been back since. Totally crowded, overworked woman at the counter, they lost my order. 15 minutes after placing my order I went up asking about it- they didn't even apologize for losing it and another 10 minutes I finally got my lousy SOUP!! it was a SOUP, broth and noodles in a cup for $9, sorry, I will go to Cafe Duke's for cheaper and better noodle soup that actually has vegetables in it!

I went here last year with a couple of friends after the place being recommended to me. We loved it! the 3 of us were able to eat just fine on 1 large and 1 small combo plate which was just delish! The place is small and a bit crowded but the atmosphere is awesome...although it is very dark. Would make for a romantic little dinner if in the area. In fact, i might be going back with my boyfriend today! I can't wait to go back, i loved their food and the prices are really affordable!

Went back for the second time. The first time it was crazy busy so we chalked the mediocre food and horrendous service up to an off night. Second time we went it was pretty dead, but it still took forever for our dumplings to come out, cold on the inside! Entrees were pretty uninteresting. Waitstaff all seemed disgruntled. Wouldn't recommend it.

I had a friend that raved about how this restaurant was his favorite and how I NEED to go check it out when I'm in New York.. ... I may never speak to this person again and his crediibility has been thrown out the window because of the following:
1. Incompetent service
2. Highly disorganized (never apologized for their mistakes)
3. Extremely rude and seemingly pretentious
4. Below average asian cuisine
We were extremely dissatisfied with service and food. Everyone is better off ordering takeout.

Great Food. Rock'n Cocktail List (be sure to go M-F 5:30 - 7:30 double your pleasure with happy hour 2 for 1) have the blueberry mojito or the coconut martini. Hot freindly staff. Fun night crowd or sneak in during the dy for something quick. I love it here.

Loved the Malaysian Curry Noodles and the Small Plate Combo. Food was good and relatively quick. A little pricey and our waiter was definitely not impressed with us (I guess we just weren't cool enough for him). They let us hang out for a long time after our meal was done, which was nice. I would go back, but I wouldn't expect to be treated like family.

As a Londoner whose family have all immigrated to the city, Kelley Ping is the first place I visit for lunch whenever I return to NYC. It is a gem, and reminiscent of Thailand's Street Stalls - only more civilised. The food is of the same standard. If you want a quick, cheap and delicious lunch - as well as healthy... come to Kelley Ping.

The Dak Bulgogi (Korean Grilled Chicken) was great, and most of the items on the menu were very savory @ inexpensive prices. (not the pad thai though) The drink list was comprehensive (including cocktails, margarita, and sakes) and I highly recommend the Strawberry and Pineapple cocktail plus the last sake on the list. The decor was not extravagant but rather authenticly cozy and intimate. Good for large groups as well as romantic dates.

Whenever I am close to Kelley and Ping, I make a point of stopping by for some of the best asian food in the city. The quaint atmosphere and the uncommonly friendly floor staff, make lunch a great experience aside from the food, which is the reason to come to Kelley and Ping in the first place. Soup, salad or an asian wrap, all of the food is just great. One of my favorites is the scallion pancakes, not really a big scallion taste, but a sort of pita bread fried and served with a dipping sauce; very nice. I feel like I can eat here everyday, if only I can be in the area. Anyway, Kelley and Ping is the best bet for a great lunch anywhere in SoHo.

Kelley and Ping has alot of different food to offer. I work in the area and for the summer I've been eating their new Asian wraps and this grilled shrimp salad, but today (after telling my co-workers about the low-carb meals) I ordered a bowl of soup. The soup was so delicious, huge I couldn't even finish it. I was so happy and satisfied afterwards. It is nice to know I can eat low carb, but I am glad that I can get my noodle fix at Kelley and Ping.

Kelley and Ping taught me that I like Asian food. At Kelley and Ping they have alot of different dishes I guess from all over the place in Asia. Our waitress was saying some is from Vietnam and Korea, I had never had this food; Our waitress was a big help. I had this Beef dish from Korea and my date had a dish from Thailand, I think it is great a place like Kelley and Ping exists where you can have a little of everything from just about everywhere. Dining at Kelley and Ping has always provided a consistent high quality of food, but last night I had a new entree that made my old favorite feel like a new friend. The salad had grilled jumbo shrimp and avocados with red onions and a great variety of greens like watercress. The salad was the perfect counter balance to my Seafood Keemow which is a huge bowl of noodles with all sorts of seafood and peppers. I loved it last night, but only after eating the leftovers today am I inspired to take a brake from work to right about how much I love this food, I love this restaurant. Kelley and Ping has delicious old favorites and can surprise me with yummy new dishes.

I kid you not, I am on my honeymoon and I have eaten here with my new wife, four of the last five days. This place is like two restaurants in one. During the day you go to the counter and order. I have been having the 'wraps' with beef, spicy cabbage and lettuce, or this other one that has shrimp and a dipping sauce. My new wife and I usually split one of the amazingly delicious soups that have a sea of broth and miles of noodles. But at night, the place changes, and it is sit down service. The staff is brilliant, fun and professional and the menu gets a little more entree and less soup oriented. The steak is great, the stripped bass steamed in a banana leaf is even better. We need a Kelley and Ping in England

I had a nice light meal, perfect for the summer when I was at Kelley and Ping. I used to think of Kelley and Ping as a cool weather place to eat, what with its hearty curry soup and huge portions. But my lunch was very light with a wrap, not tortilla, but something thinner, a rice paper sort of crepe, that had lettuce and spicy cabbage and thin sliced beef. Also, they had this tasty pink lemonade that was both cool and refreshing. The hearty soups are still there and delicious, my friend had the duck broth soup with miles of noodles and vegetables to spare. I am happy the place I knew has a cool weather dining spot can change with the seasons. For me kelley and ping is delicious year around.

I had the most lovely dining expereince at Kelley and Ping this weekend. I had a grilled beef salad, that had mint and red onion. Had my entree not been so delicious, this would have been the high point. I saved all of my carbs for this wonderful yellow curry soup with chicken in every spoonful, and delicious noodles. This place is simply devine with its minimalist look, I actually felt like I good have been in a noodle market in some Asian country. Also, having the kitchen exposed for our view it was like watching theater, with our meals as the attraction. Great food and beautiful atomosphere, these are some of the reasons Kelley and Ping is a great place to sit and eat.

I live overseas and when my friends come to New York, I always tell them to come here. Everyone Loves Kelley and Ping. Business takes me to New York often and everytime I make the trip downtown to this place. This week a nice warm curry soup with noodles (you can pick your own) for rainy days, and today I had a salad with grilled rolled beef. This restaurant is the perfect for all occasions. The menu is diverse enough to fit every appetite and every taste bud. I cross an ocean to come to Kelley and Ping for the Pad Thai.

I am happy to dine at Kelley and Ping. The food is great, I love the roasted duck in a penang curry sauce, with sauteed greens. Delcious, crispy and rich. As an appitizer, I started with the grilled beef salad, which has an amazing combination of mint and red onion and enough grilled beef to get some meat in every bite of this fresh green salad. Also, I had a great cocktail, with pomegranate and tequilla. What was great about this place? The fact that I had a great meal, in SoHo, where the place looked beautiful and the price was cheap. Kelley and Ping has character, great staff and delicious food, all at a price that makes SoHo affordable

I read the last review about the parents and the whole 'kids eat free' thing and I thought my night would be over run with kids, it wasn't, instead the restaurant held a very diversified SoHo crowd in it ground floor loft siz space. The nice airy openness of the restaurant is soothing, the dark lighting, conforting, but all contrasted with action from the kitchen where we can see them cooking our food. Was that our dish with the huge flames coming from the wok? Doubt it, the pad thai was delicious and the Korean Beef (tons of it) came with Kimchi, which is among the best kimchi I have ever had. Even though they have tons of great teas, I prefer the sweet delight of the 'vietnamese coffee' they are great!. Kelley and Ping rocks - it is the perfect all around restaurant for all sort of people.

Pros: no place like it, tons of food, nice staff

.

Working in the area, I always get my usual lunch of noodles or soup - consistently great, but then I had a lunch special of pork chops. Delicious! You get served a pile of pork chops grill cooked and marinated and topped with a great sauce. It comes with sticky rice. This was a great lunch meal and for under ten bucks in SoHo. What a bargain. Then, I went after work, I did not know, it has a complete different menu at night as well as table service, instead of the cafeteria style during the day. And on the new dinner menu, pork chops. Kelley and Ping is always superb, day or night, and trust me on the pork chops.

I have trouble finding a place to take our two kids out to eat in the city, until now. This place has a great kids menu that is free monday through friday. The food is smaller portions of kid friendly food, like sauce on the side, the most exotic dish is the pad thai, the rest is grilled chicken breast and rice with veggie sort of thing. Better than fast food, with the adult dinner menu being more interesting form me and my husband, and since we don't have to pay for the kids, its a great bargain. Kelley and Ping is a great place for our family to have a relaxed dinner out. Thank you Kelley and Ping

I love Kelley and Ping. I am always garaunteed fast service. The food is amazingly delicious and the servings are ample. I come here b/c I am too busy to take a long meal, but I still want a worthwhile dining experince. I usually get the special soup, or the calamari salad, which has fried calamari swiming in a sea of greens that include watercress (YUMMY). The place is just gorgeous, with its high ceiling and lazy fans, and it is nice to know I could stay as long as I want, but when I am in SoHo, there is alot to do, still Kelley and Ping is the one place I look forward to always visiting in Soho.

It's hard to find good food in a nice lookin' place that won't cost a fortune when your in SoHo. I have found a place that suits me perfectly though. I took my date to Kelley and Ping and had a great night. I went at 8:30, and had to wait 15 min for a table, but they had a bar with great "homemade" cocktails, drinks with ginger and mint in them, they are great. We gorged ourselves on our food. First came an appetizer combo tray that covered our whole table, it had spring rolls, dumplings, satay and more. When our entrees came, a pad thai and a korean beef dish, they each arrived served up mountain high on the plate. I love this place.

My regular dinner restaurant changed the menu recently. I went in and ordered my usual steamed fish. And what I got was a delicious surprise. I called the waitress over and asked if my order was correct and she smiled and reassured. What I tasted was magnificent! Wrapped in richly hued green banana leaf was a striped bass, seasoned in chili lime garlic dressing. It was flavorful and light. I thought the old dish was good, but I would order this new, steamed fish for delivery every night if I only lived in the area. Sure Kelley and Ping knocks it out of the park with noodles, but some of their other dishes, like the fish, surpass other restaurants that specialize in fish.

My friend wanted to meet me here and I looked at the reviews for noodles. I was concerned, I eat low-carb now, but in fact there are ALL of these other food options. Chicken breast no skewers in peanut sauce were nice. Also, there was this amazing beef salad that had red onion and mint, the salad had so much stuff I wish there was more lettuce, but great. My friend still ordered her usual Pad Thai, it was a mountain of noodles, she said she loved it. I was happy to find a place where we can eat different diet, at the same place.

A bunch of us work around SoHo and we are always looking to find a place to meet for lunch. Eureka! This huge, open and airy space is perfect for our weekly lunch get togethers. They have lots of different foods: soups, salads, wraps and noodle dishes. For the price, you can not get a better lunch deal in the city. It is so good, I came back after work on a date for dinner, it changes, it is full service and they have a full bar with great cocktails, we had lots of pomagranite margaritas to go with our pad thai and korean beff dishes. The place is great for a date or lunch meeting with a bunch of friends.

Fall is soup weather and I look forward to coming back again.

Whenever my parents come into town, I have to take them here. They love it. My dad likes the Lemongrass Chicken, my mom tries something different each time; this time she had a great curry dish. I am glad a place exists that we can all agree on for the price and great service, it cant be beat.

I had fallen in love with Kelley and Ping the very first time I came here about 7 years ago. Then I moved out of town and now I'm back!! I enjoy the the lay back atmosphere during lunch...not to mention the summer rolls and wraps in the summer and all the delicious soup noodles in the winter. I remember Kelley and Ping used to sell a variety of groceries, books and housewares...I'm just a little disappointed that Kelley and Ping's no longer selling the stuff...thank God I still have the t-shirt.

It is my firm belief that Kelley and Ping has the best Pad Thai of any restaurant that I have ever tried. Not too soggy and not too dry you guys make it just right!! I also like the fact that you guys can be accommodating to children when need be. Thanks.

I used the chopsticks and drank my first ever Tsingtao beer at Kelley and Ping. A year later I have still to master the art of the chopsticks but not the beer drinking. My favorites are the Tsingtao and the Singha with the Salt and Pepper Shrimp. The staff is quite well versed in the art of Tea Consumption. And I leavehere feeling cultured and refresh.

I have been a diner of Kelley and Ping's delicious noodles for many years now. I am delighted to come everytime and am never dissappointed. However, I would like to make a suggestion: perhaps you guys could change up the menu a little bit for regulars like me ;-). but DON'T take off the Tom Yum Goong Noodles!! it is my favourite!! Thanks

Kelley and Ping continues to be one of my favourites restaurants in NYC. Despite the heavy crowds I am still willing to wait, especially for that tasty Vietnamese Ravioli that you guys have.

Unfortunately, you guys don't take reservations during the week. I suggest for everyone getting there a bit early. Its definately worth the wait.

Kelly & Ping never disappoints me with their authentic dishes. The interior is decorated with south Asian everyday items, and it has a very high ceiling with big fans with make you feel like you are actually in Taipei or in Bangkok street.
