No doubt the best pizza in Buffalo. I have tried many different places but none even come close. I will make the hour long round trip simply because they are the best.

I left Bflo 31 years ago and still dream of your pizza as well as my husband who is from Puerto Rico and begs me to stop there even when we are staying by Kissing Bridge. I am always surprised to see the same guy behind the counter, even though my husband doesn't believe he was there cooking when I was a student at St. James. Please Hector- isn't it time you retire to sunny South Florida and share your pizza with the south?

I first met Hector when our sons were in the same cub scout troop. One of our fields trips was to Leonardis. Hector taught each of the boys how to make pizza. I found out then why Leonardis is soooo good. The sauce is a family secret handed down from the old country. The ingedients are all top notch and selected personally by Hector. The cheese is hand grated and the pepperoni is hand sliced. The boys really enjoyed that trip and even though it was 15 years ago I still remember how good the pizza tasted. We go back as often as we can but we sure wish there was a East Amherst location . . hint, hint.

We were hardcore Bocce club lovers until Leonardi's opened. Leonardi's is not as greasy as Bocces and whenever I'm back in Buffalo/Amherst, Leonardi's is a must stop. I moved away 30ys ago, and still can't find a pizza as good. No one outside of Western New York understands there is another type of pizza. Waiting for Leonardi's to get a website and ship nationwide!

I really wish I can find a substitution here in Alabama for Leonardis. You should consider selling pizza online like your competitor (Lanova's). If you can share your pizza with the rest of the country, THEY WILL BELIEVE!

Please HELP! Moved south and can't live without Leonardi's Pizza for the SuperBowl. I grew up on Leonardi's and took it personal when they relocated to Amherst but made the short drive anyway whenever I had a craving. Only Leonardi"s can put half an onion on a pie and make it taste great. Mmm, Mmm!! I'm about to cry too.

Leonardi's is the 'other' Buffalo classic pizza. Originally located on Bailey Avenue near the expressway overpass, it became a fast favorite of UB students as well as locals, with a well-established (but good natured) rivalry between afficianados of Bocces and afficianados of Leonardi's. I'm a Bocce's person, but I think if Leonardi's was as close as Bocces I might be swayed.

...He would be a Leonardi's pizza. I use to work next Leonardi's when it was on Bailey. When sign changed to "Avenue pizza" It was a dark dark day. I saw people get back into thier cars and drive away. Now my job takes me all over the country. The only place where I can get a halfway decient pizza is in New York City. Im sick of small, skimpy, exspencive pizzas. I geuss if I never had a Leonardis pizza the others wouldn'd dissapoint me so much.

My daughter brought home a pizza from Leonardi's and shared it with mom & dad. It's something to die for. If there's such a thing as a "hearty" pizza this is it, no skimping on anything. A basic cheese & pepperoni doesn't get any better than this.

Would recommend to anyone along with St. Angelo's depending on one's preference of flavor.

If you miss Buffalo style pizza and you are in the Charlotte, NC area. Step over to Central Avenue and get Buffanardi's Pizza. It is the same as Leonardi's, not too mention a photo of Leonardi's store front displayed in the waiting area. The sauce is sweet and the pizza's are monstrous and so delicious. I believe they had to do a presentation and show Leonardi's their ideas and then Leonardi's gave them the recipe for the sauce. IT is THE BEST PIZZA IN CHARLOTTE, NC. I dont care what ANYONE SAYS!!!

Since I moved up the road apiece I haven't been to Leonardi's, but remember the pizza as very good if not always excellent. I generally agree with the other reviewers here: Leonardi's does a fine job, and their sauce is tasty. They do not skimp on cheese, either. But, their pizza suffers from a too-thick crust common to many (probably most) Buffalo pies. That being said, I am very particular about pizza, and will go back and try Leonardi's again since my memories of their pizza are good. If the drive turns out to be worth it, I'll be a return customer.

I grew up on Leonardi's. I love the sweet sauce, the slightly fluffy crust and slightly browned cheese. The spices in the cheese gives it a unique taste that no other pizzeria can offer. I think another pizzeria tried to come out with a name similar to theirs, hoping to build success by tricking people into thinking they were the same thing, but no one can match Leonardi's in my opinion. In Buffalo, Leonardi's gets my slight adge as number one, with La Nova coming in right behind.

Pros: priced right, Large pizzas, real Italian taste

            Cons: Takeout only, N/a, N/a

When my husband and I were in Buffalo as kids we ate leonardis every day when they were on Bailey ave. It was the best flavoeful pizza I have ever had. When we moved we have never tasted any thing that compared. I really feel sorry for southeren cities. I wish one day they can experience "REAL" pizza such as leonardi's

            Message from Leonardi's Pizzeria Inc.

Leonardi's Pizzeria opened its doors in March of 1972 by the Leonardi Family (Hector, Luigi, Anne & Argia "Mama" Leonardi). Since the beginning, Leonardi's has strived to bring a little bit of the "old country" to the masses. We always offer the freshest and best tasting ingredients including dough that is made and hand stretched daily in house.
