It was early and the place was empty, but the club music was playing really loud. They turned it down to lure us in I suppose, only to crank it back up 15 minutes later. The waitress seemed nice enough, but the owner / manager seemed like a tool. That, combined with the annoying music, makes me not want to go back. Which is a shame, because the sushi is good and reasonably priced.

Pros: good sushi

Cons: loud club music in otherwise empty restaurant

pretty restaurant great service wonderful sushi, priced right. Nice place for a date. We went with our children (teenaged) and they loved it. They treated us to a birthday dessert for our daughter. I won't spoil the surprise. The only bad thing is that it was cold in there. Stay away from the storefront glass.

....gracious, family-owned business, whenever the budget affords we head there! Consistently delicious and a favorite in the North Slope.

Never a negative visit or meal.

Trendy, glitzy decor in a staid Park Slop neighborhood. Excellent sushi in a tight but comfortable "enough" space. Sushi is fresh and creative and overall fairly reasonably priced for what you get. They offer an expansive many with options for everyone and some creative rolls as well as some of the old stand bys. The space is tight but well thought out and comfortable given its size. The service is efficient and fairly accommodating. A solid choice for good sushi!

Oshima is our favorite Sushi restaurant in Park Slope and we have decided it is the best sushi place around (better than Yamato, Blue Ribbon, etc). We spent years looking for a great sushi place in our town. Best comparison for us from a quality perspective is is with Yama in Manhattan.
- Great, fresh pieces and inventive rolls and appetizers.
- In terms of ambiance, the garden was always nice and they recently renovated which gives the place a more modern look which made it even more enjoyable to eat-in.
- Great polite staff
- Good value
- Romantic
