I used to love going to Tara Animal Hospital. Everybody was always sooo nice. I had an emergency with my dog. My dog had an abscess on his upper palate in mouth. He could not eat nor drink anything. I called and explained my situation, mind you it's on a Friday, the young girl was verrrrry rude and not empathetic at all. She said they were all booked and they wouldn't be able to see him until Monday. I am sorry, he can't wait until Monday. He is in pain. I was very upset, any other time they would fit you in. I called Fulton Animal Hospital and Dr. Spear got me right in. In the meantime, the same day my friend had an emergency and called Tara, they got her right in. I was so angry at that point. Have not been back since. Dr. Spear is wonderful....

You had better have the cash when you need them to see your animal or you're out of luck.

I called to see if they would work with me, as I could put a down payment on a visit, but then asked if I could make payment arrangements. They wouldn't even discuss it. The bill must be paid that day. Period.

Really caring, eh? So...if you are in a bind, and this is an unexpected emergency, I guess you can either find another vet that will work with you, or let your animal be in pain or die. Apparently, Tara Clinic could care less either way.

I am used to the country vets, which, by the way, have been in business for decades, that will work with you...why? Because they actually care about the animal. This concept must be foreign to Tara clinic. Amazing, isn't it, that the old country vets must be successful as they are still in business. They are successful even with accepting payments. Funny thing about that...must be a good way of doing business. Tara could learn a thing or two about that.

I will make sure I tell every pet owner I know (and I know a LOT of people with animals) to NEVER TAKE THEIR ANIMALS TO TARA regardless of whether or not they have the cash up front. Shame on you Tara Clinic. Greedy and uncaring.

We had to take our Elmo to be put to sleep last week and the staff at Tara could not have been more professional and caring. The Doctor explained everything to us, let us hold Elmo's paw and gave us time to be alone with him both before and afterward. He gave us a hug and we knew that he really did feel our pain. Would highly recommend!

I use to go to Fruit Valley, but they were very rude there and switched to Tara's. Tara's has been wonderful with very friendly and helpful workers. I would recommend bringing your animal there.

The rates are better than N. co. but for our 1st appointment,,for both our dogs 104 was closed due to an accident , and I had forgotten my cell phone,,so couldnt call,,,we were 10 minutes late and the receptionist was rude. EXCUSE us! Also they need a local Dr. on call, not where we have to drive to liverpool on a weekend. Maybe I will go back to N. Co..

I had to bring my beloved cat in to be euthanized after being diagnosed here with having bone cancer. They put me into the xray room with the door open when I wanted time alone with my cat. The assistant loudly kept calling my cat she when it was a he. After the deed was done they told me they'd bring him out to my car. When I was almost to my car, the receptionist ran after me to pay my bill. I was pretty distraught and thought they should have approached me before the appt. When they brought my cat out to me, they had hastily written a sympathy card during that time. They are very heartless there.

PROS: They accept FOA spay and neutering certificates
CONS:

This place is awesome. They love animals and do a wonderful job with them. Also if you need Flea supplies you dont have to have your pet be a patient there they will sell it to you no matter what which is the way it should be sense if you want to flea your animal then you dont want to pay a fourtune to have them done when you are able to do the same thing yourself for less. The people there are friendly and helpful and are always willing to answer your questions by phone or in person. This place is a awesome place for your pets.
