Anyone who grew up loving Louis Armstrong should visit this house museum. You can feel Satchmo's presence. His modesty, his kindness, the way he lived his life should be a lesson in life for us all. The house has been left pretty much as it was when Louie lived there. The visit had a profound effect on me and I would strongly recommend a visit to all who love and appreciate jazz because "pops" led the way...

This museum is located in a small two story brick house in Corona. Surprisingly it was pretty easy to find parking nearby the time that I went, even though it is only one block away from the very busy 108 St. This museum is a nice place to visit for anyone who has any interest in jazz or just wants to see the former home of someone famous who lived right in the middle of a regular neighborhood in Queens, even during the peak of his fame. The admission price of $8 is not cheap, but the tour lasts almost an hour and the stories about how Louis Armstrong got the house and what he did to it makes it worthwhile.
