I get to NYC several times a year with my girlfriend who loves to make it an afternoon with me here. She's small(36A). This is THE shop for undies that are gorgeous and fit. My girl is "very girlie," not the cotton panties and bra type, which is why we love this place. From lacy thongs, garters, corsets, and bras, to the seductive, sheer fabrics and laces. We're also encouragded to use the fitting room together...nice touch, ladies!

I've been going to this place for years, and it never disappoints. I go there 1x or 2x a year to get a new set of bras, and this time Montie helped me. She's extremely attentive, knows the inventory really well, and brought out a number of bras that she thought would fit - adjusting the selection based on what we were discovering didn't fit as well. She didn't rush me, she was very patient and I walked out feeling like I had made some good investments. The fact that she didn't rush me was especially important to me, as nice bras are not cheap, so I appreciate that they let you take your time to try things on and make decisions that you won't regret. I do have to say that not everyone is as good there, though I don't want to name names, but just ask for Montie when you go.

What a fantastic store! The owner, Rebecca, is as charming and sophisticated as the precious gems that line the wall of of her store!
Amazing brands like La Perla, Wolford, and Cosabella. In additon to lingerie, she has a selection of toys and candels... A great selection of fancy, frilly things and pratical peices as well. And not to mention, when they have a sale, its a fantasic deal :)
Truly lovely place, I can't wait to go back!

This is by far the best lingerie store in the city. It feels like walking into a lingerie store in Paris; very girlie and intimate. The sales people are very good about suggestions without being pushy. The whole experience of buying lingerie becomes much more pleasurable than in other places; good dressing rooms with good lighting, great selection, and sometimes even crazy sales. Fantastic selection of different brands from very expensive: La Perla, Huit, Aubaude, Cotton Club, to affordable: Hanky Panky, and many many others. I definitely recommend it.

I have been shopping here since I was in college and it's my number one favorite shop for lingerie, both for fun everyday things and for luxurious special items that fit *perfectly*. I lived in France for two years and this place reminds me of the lingerie shops there for its classiness but is also American with its fun and open ambiance. The staff here is super super knowledgeable but not at all snobby-- the vibe of the store is lighthearted so you won't encounter any attitude.

If you're a guy looking for your girlfriend, this is also the perfect place for you-- again, bc of the great selection and helpful staff.

If you're a woman who has never really tried anything fancy or frilly before but looking for something a little different than your everyday Maidenform, you can absolutely trust the staff to help you find something right. They aren't pushy at all and won't try to convince you to get something that you aren't comfortable with.

Last night I went to La Petite Coquette, and I was so pleased with my experience and my purchases that the next morning I sent the following email to the store's website to let them know how happy I was. I think my email says it all.

?I just wanted to send a note and thank the girl that assisted me last night (Thursday evening May 28) at around 5 pm. I came in looking for a few great every day bras, but that were also attractive so that my boyfriend could enjoy them too. Straight off she checked my size and then brought me tons of bras to try on. She was very patient, very professional and gave me some great tips. When I got out of the dressing room, I had tried on so many bras my head was spinning, but she had all the "yeses" and "maybes" ready to go, which made it so easy. When I got home, I tried on my purchases (four new bras) and I love, love, love each and every one of them - including that fantastic regular bra that turns into a halter bra. Her recommendations were exactly right. I never got her name, but if you know who was working that evening, I just wanted to pass along my thanks and make sure that she got recognition for a job well done!

I have been to your store many times over the years and have always been very happy with my purchases. I used to live on 12th and 6th way back when your store was in the smaller space on the other side of the street. Now I live in Tribeca, and don't get there as often, but whenever I need some new bras, I always come to your store. I am so happy that your store is still around and doing well. You totally deserve it. Your selection is excellent, the store is beautiful and the staff is outstanding. You are the best in the City by far.

I had the best experience in the store today. I have gotten my breast redone 6 months ago and went to all the major department stores , the worst experience. I enter la petite coquette today and all my fitting were fantastic. If you invest in new breast you must treat them like your jewels, they deserve the best support so you can have them perfect for a long time. So I am telling you I flew to NYC to have the lingerie expert put me in the best. Please , you invest a lot of money in the breast go to expert to give you the best to make sure in 5 years they are still fantastic Thank you so much to all the girls at la petite coquette in NYC. About three years ago my cup size outgrew victoria's secret. The only stores I knew that supplied my size were (on the West Coast, Nordstroms and Macys) and then out here I resigned myself to Lord and Taylors. By resigning myself I mean that all the bras available in my cupsize looked like something a grandmother would wear. No offense to my deceased grandmothers.The worst part too was all of the bras would be "minimizing" and rarely did anything to show off my endowments. As melodramatic as it sounds, I often would leave department stores in frustrated tears, spending $75+ on a bra I didn't even like.

Enter, the New Yorker community on Livejournal. Someone mentioned the list of New York's best independent lingerie stores as per Time Out New York. LPC was listed as having cute styles in larger sizes, so I figured I'd give it a shot. VICTORY WAS MINE! Ellen (a store employee) was super sweet, resized me and found me a plethora of cute, s*xy bras to try on. Yay! They were the exact same prices as the department stores too.

Also bonus, since I've been working on getting back in shape, Ellen said any bra purchased at the store they could cut down the band size to fit if it went down FOR FREE! (miracle words to a poor grad student)

LPC now has my business as long as I live in NYC. And perhaps if their shipping return policy remains amazing I'll continue to buy online when I return to the West Coast.

*The one heads up is when you come to the door, they buzz you in. It seemed to confuse a few people intially*

My best friend bought me her book " The Lingerie Handbook" - a fabulous read, now I buy only lingerie ( no more boring undies ). Her store is a must see if your in New York. You are also going to find the perfect bra.

I had previously shopped at major chains for undergarments - because I didn't know any better. I had worn the wrong bra size my entire adult life - because I didn't know any better. Thanks to Ellen and the wonderful women at La Petite Coquette, now I know better!! They are incredibly helpful as a result of their extensive 3-month training and have a gorgeous selection of all types of underthings. I can honestly say I won't be shopping anywhere else and that you won't be disappointed here. Worth the extra $.

I was looking for lingerie for my wife and I was tired of the same old stuff at Victoria's Secret. I was also tired of being treated like a flat-out pervert in other stores if I was shopping for frilly undies. On one Valentine's Day a few years back a co-worker suggested I go to La Petite Coquette. The store is like stepping into a boudoir, very feminine and inviting. I have always found the sales ladies to be helpful even though I am shopping on the low end of the scale of what they offer. You can find Victoria's Secret prices on much better designed lingerie. The owner always seems to be around and her confidence is relaxing. This is her place and she remembers you if you go in more than once. This is a lingerie store for men and women who are comfortable with their desires. Men, if you are shopping with your beloved, there is a comfy couch and lots of interesting reading materials. Just like good lingerie, the store reveals just enough sexiness to make you feel enticed. It is a very adult shop for adults.

This afternoon I found myself walking up Lexington towards Union Square, happy to be outside even in the cold weather. Luckily as I passed La Petite Coquette I stopped, and decided to go in. This was my second visit to the store, the last time was two years ago under similar circumstances. I enjoyed both shopping experiences tremendously.

Rebecca, the owner, is very funny and charming. Her website is aptly named TheLittleFlirt. Everyone who works there is quite attractive, and seemingly having a very good time. It is like a bar full of women, minus the drinks and other guys, with underwear everywhere. What could be better?

This is the best shopping experience i have ever had.
Being a "large busted" woman, in a small frame, you can imagine the difficult i have had in my life
looking for bras. I walked into La Petite Coquette 4 years ago and will not purchase my lingerie from anywhere else!!! They spent the time with me to find the perfect fitting bra's for me. No small task after trying on about 20 different bras we found the 2 that were a perfect fit. Not easy still as i am between 2 sizes for both my cup size and back size. They were very patient and very honest if a bra didnt fit well they would tell you! No walking out looking bad in this establishment which is what I like. They are not selling you lingerie they are making people feel good and look good. Enjoy i highly recommend it.
The staff was even nice enough to make a lunch recommendation that was perfect as well!

La Petite Coquette sells beautiful bras in a broad range of sizes. It is so nice to be able to actually choose bras in my size instead of just taking the few a store has in stock in my size. Their selection is really nice and they find bras for you according to your tastes. The service is really wonderful and you walk out feeling like a million dollars. They also have bras in a range of prices and will show you bras from every range. Of course one you try on an expensive bra, you will want it!

Rebecca and her wonderful staff give an incredible shopping experience and an make the male customer feel completely at ease. I have been shopping for my wife here for over 10 years (sorry mom but I could resist even before we were married!) and have nothing but great things to say. While prices are on the upper end of the range, the staff has always been really helpful about finding something just right for my budget. If you are lucky enough to swing by during a sale (going on right now -Dec 27) you life will be changed forever. My wife was quite excited last night when I came home with a bag full of goodies!
The store keep my wife's bra/ panty size on file so I never have to worry if I am getting it right. Thanks Rebecca.

I'm fairly new to New York and have been putting off buying new underwear for a while, because I didn't know where to go, and my size is difficult to find. I'm so happy to have found this boutique, I won't need to search any further! My sales assistant (unfortunately I don't know her name) was attentive and very helpful. She knew straight away which brands made my size (30D/DD) and brought me several things to try on, apologising for the fact that the range was more limited than usual. I was only after an everyday bra and found one quickly and painlessly, with the fit checked by my sales assistant. She even checked if there were any sample or sale items for me. I paid $60 for a perfectly fitting, quality bra which back home would have cost me twice the price. I'll definitely be returning here, particularly when I want something special! If you want properly fitted, well-made lingerie, and if your size is not stocked by the usual chain shops, visit this boutique.

I must begin by saying that I don't enjoy shopping for lingerie. My past experiences have either been depressing (old saleswoman in dept stores) or frustrating (avoiding clueless saleswomen at Victoria's Secret and trying to find something not pink, without rhinestones and with a semblance of taste). I knew there had to be a better way to shop...so I went to La Petite Coquette this week after my bras started to lose their shape. I chose to go there because I knew they carried a variety of good brands. I was greeted by a low-key but friendly Kate, who I asked to help me. She asked what types of bras I like, shapes, fabrics, colors and moments later, she had me start trying them on. She inspected the fit of each and after a couple, concluded that I was a 32C. I told her this was impossible, as my breasts are not very large and I have worn 32B or 32A for the past 15 years. She smiled knowingly and had me try one on-- "let's just see how it fits". Much to my surprise, she was absolutely right! In addition to knowing her fits, she also quickly got a great sense of my taste and sensibility-- she handed me items I would have picked on my own, but also introduced me to styles I never would have thought of, but looked great when I tried them on. To me, this kind of service and expertise is a true luxury. Did i mention that Kate was also really sweet? No more sad dept stores or Victoria's Secret. I've found the best secret of all...

I recently returned to NYC to the very first place I purchased my first piece of la perla lingerie -- what amazing memories. Rebecca, the owner of La Petite Coquette sold me that little gem...and a lot more lingerie through the years. She knows just what a woman needs for her body type...just what brand is good for her body type and how to fit women in just the right size. plus...she is just so much fun to hang out and talk about men with!! All the women buzzing around the cozy little boudoir type store is a must see for any traveler and a must visit for any woman looking to take her sexappeal and turn it up to hot!! If the owner rebecca isn't in...all of the women who work there know the products so well. they can give you anything from daring to darling. i just purchased the hottest opaque wolford stayups in black. they are soooo sexy--and the ladies did such a great job of helping me find my size...because they actually open and USE the product to know how it sizes and fits! I love this store ... it is one of my favorite parts of all of NYC.

Tonight was my third time visting LPC. Every time has been better than the previous and this was no exception. Shopping for "unmentionables" can be a vulnerable experience but LPC cradles you through it without an ounce of preconcieved judgement. I came in tonight merely for a garter belt. However I have never owned one nor used one. I had been approached when walking in but wanted to browse first and was met with unflustered responses of "of course." and "let me know if you need anything." It is not about the hardsell at LPC. When I was ready, I met Lilah. She immediately found a lovely GB from the SALE bin (a $120 black lace piece of sexual enuendo marked down to $20 -yes $20.) Trying on is strongly encouraged and as I traveled to the dressing room I mentioned my concern of the garter part showing through the dress I had chosen for that evenings' rendevous. This lead seamlessly into a discussion of what bra I would be wearing. I showed it to Lilah who, within seconds, said to me what Oprah and Tim Gunn have been preaching for years, "Well, you're wearing the wrong size bra." Let me tell you, everything they say on TV is true for once! You stand up straighter. You feel better. Your mood lifts along with your mamories when you wear a correctly fitting bra. Then began a myriad of tryings-on til I had left with 5 bras, 6panties, 1 pair of thigh hi fishnets and of course 1 garter belt. Now, be warned, this is high quality lingerie. The retail value of my purchases should have been over $1600 BUT I had been given a bra-angel, a "Brangel"? Lilah worked her magic and I walked spending a heavenly $777. My head was held high as I walked out with my packages and I commented to my friend who was by my side for the whole thing about my euphoric state and she agreed that even with her mere $300 panty purchase knocked down to $30 she felt a glow as well. This ain't your Hanes or Fruit of the Loom anymore ladies, go treat yourself at Le Petite Coquette!

Yesterday I had the most fulfilling shoping experience that I can ever remember buying bras at La Petite Coquette in New York City. I have always dreaded purchasing new bras. I am large breasted, a 34G (so I learned), and apparently, until yesterday, never in the correct size. Martina, my sales lady was unbelievable in her attentiveness and her understanding of my personal needs. She was patient, friendly and never rushed me. What amazed me is how well she understood my concerns and how expert she was in explaining the fit and function of each bra. There was an terrific selection in my size. I never felt pressured. In fact the store has such an inviting, old world atmosphere, it is a pleasure to just be there. What really makes me feel wonderful is that after being fitted at La Petite Coquette, everyone is asking me what I have done to myself, that I look like I lost weight and that I look great. Its unbelievable what a good fitting bra can do and its so nice to have a store that provides the right advice.

The staff is so knowledgeable and so pleasant. I have found my lingerie source!

La Petite Coquette was by far the best lingerie shop I have ever set foot in. The minute you walk in the door you are greeted with friendly faces and warm smiles that make you feel welcome and special. The sales associates really know their stuff and work with you on a really individual basis to get you exactly what you are looking for. My sales associate helped me realize that I have been wearing the wrong bra size for years and completely alleviated my upper back pain (that I had acquired from wearing the wrong bra size). Most women don't wear the correct bra size their entire lives and wonder why they suffer from back and shoulder pain...I never even knew. The associates also gave me a lot of history on the brands they carry and how each brand fits different body types in different ways. Overall it was one of the best experiences I have had in a store in a very long time. The store associates really spend a lot of time with you and want to get to know you on a personal basis so that they can provide you with the best possible service. BEST PLACE EVER and your boyfriend/husband/significant other will never look at you in the same way after seeing you in something from La Petite Coquette.

I love this store! They have a huge selection of beautiful lingerie, for both special occassions and everday. The owner and the staff and extremely helpful and non-judgmental, no matter who you are or what your issue may be. I really get the feeling they want to make me look better and there is no "overselling". The owner has a unique way of making you feel special and I trust her advice.

Best boutique in NYC. Whether you're shopping for lingerie, basic bras or control undergarments or the fun little things that make romance more interesting, La petite coquette has it all! The girls are sweet and helpful and the atmosphere is one of a kind. The owner of the store is only there on some weekends and what a treat you're in for... my boyfriend and I were lucky because she gave us all the little do's and dont' s of lingerie. no wonder this woman is known as the "lingerie diva", so stop in and let the coquettes asses your assets.

This store has great lingerie. The only problem is the owner. Rebecca is scary. I was trying on a La Perla bra when she burst into the dressing room asking for my astrological sign. It took me completely off guard--I have never experienced such an unprofessional owner. She prides herself on the pictures displayed on the wall, yet she has no problem talking about the personal lives of her clients. This woman is the only downside to La Petite Coquette. Try Journelle instead.

I was completely intimidated, but they put me at ease the minute I set foot inside the store. Tania came over and asked if she could help, and I asked if she could do a bra fitting. She said of course, set me up in a fitting room, and then chatted with me about what I was looking for. Once she established the proper size (of course I'd been wearing the wrong size for years!) by having me try on her best guess (which was right), she then brought in waves of bras for me to try on...evaluating each for fit. Tania was so wonderfully helpful and made this a fun, completely comfortable, unrushed, and informative process! I'm going back soon and sending all my friends! They've got wonderfully sweet staff, unbeatable customer service, beautiful lingerie, and a wide range of prices! Don't even think about going anywhere else!

Shopping for swimsuits and lingerie is generally an awful experience for me. However, I wanted to buy a few items for my honeymoon and so I, at the urging of a friend, bravely entered La Petite Coquette. What a fun experience! Lila is very positive person, she is intuitive, knows her business and has great taste. She made excellent recommendations for what would work for my almost six foot tall, almost 40 year old, size 12 body and 2.5 hours and 16 items later I had a bag full of beautiful truly flattering things. I guarantee that my fiancee will appreciate our honeymoon just a little more! I highly recommend this establishment for people of all sizes and shapes!

I just wanted to post a brief review, though I know this shop has recieved many. I am one of, it seems, a very long list of satisfied customers. I walked in for one thing and left with a whole pile of new bras and underwear without ever being pushed or feeling pressured to buy anything. Lila, my sales associate, was very patient and listened carefully to what my needs were, She really seemed to care that I got what I needed and liked what I got. I can assure you her patience paid off, as I still loved all my new things when I got them home. I felt great throwing away a lot of my old stuff, and I look forward to returning.

After losing 50 pounds, I realized it was time to get a new bra. So it was with intrepidation that I went to La Petite Coquette. I am more the JC Penny's type! But as soon as I walked it, I was made to feel at ease. Monica worked with me tirelessly to find the right fit - I came in wearing a 40 and left in a 34! It was amazing. I am a new person and I love the bras - yes I bought two! When I lose the next 20 pounds, I will be back!!! Thank you Monica and La Petite Coquette!

Several weeks ago I went to search for a correct fitting bra. This was my second time to the shop and I was more impressed than ever. Tania was my sales associate and she was terrific. If something did not fit right - off it went - till we found a collection of bras that made me smile and looked awesome on me. Then, as a detour, a gorgeous black silk negligeee - that I wear for myself - because it makes me feel great about myself! And that's what's its all about. Beautiful selection, EXCELLENT SERVICE, super girly environment!! I walk by this store all the time and never went in because of my lack of interest for lingerie. I'm in the process of loosing weight so I wanted to window shop for my future body. I was amazed at how the store was set up. It didn't feel like a typical "bra-shop" with snotty girls. I was greeted with genuine enthusiasm, and didn't feel like I was being pushed to buy something. I simply wanted to look around and the girls were so helpful by showing me around. Everyone made me feel beautiful and welcome. I will definitely go back to get fitted for the perfect bra!! I am so excited to shop here! This place will make you feel comfortable, even at your most vulnerable state. I am a bit self conscious about my body, and I feel completely comfortable around the warm staff! I will be back!

After shopping at Victoria?s Secret and being disappointed with the quality and boring selection, (so generic) I decided to try and buy my fiance something from a more personal and local boutique. A co-worker of mine recommended I try La Petit Coquette, so I said ?why not??
It?s a beautiful store and the women who work there are very helpful and were able to make me feel comfortable; considering (at the time) I was the only man in the store.
I explained to Tanya what I was looking for and she was very knowledgeable and was able to quickly show merchandise to me reflective of my descriptions. In other words they had exactly what I was looking for! And then some!
I also met the owner of the store Rebecca who was very friendly, personable, and only made me feel more at home.
To top it off Beth (my fiance) was very pleased with her gifts and I have La Petit Coquette to thank. 5 stars!!!!!

Ive been stuggling for so long to find that perfect bra that just fits normally! My friend told me about this store so I gave it a try. I am so pleased with the results! I came in and was greeted by such a nice helpful sales girl named Tania. She measured me and took the time to explain to me how to properly find the right bra for my frame and gave me many bras to try on and told me which one was right for me. It turned out ive been wearing the wrong size the entire time! I really enjoyed my experience there and I will definetly only buy my bras there in the future. They give you true one on one time and dont rush you at all. Hope you have the same luck as me!

I want to thank Karen for the super help with my wife birthday gift. I was not sure how hard it would be to pick out her gift. Karen set me up with a bra and panty set that looked and fit perfect. Thank you for knowing just what she would like. I liked it too! and I got great points and now she tells her friends I have good tast.

When my shopping buddy and I crossed the threshold of this lovely boutique, we were met by welcoming and kind sales people. The variety of items in the window were enticing and I was suspicious that this boutiques would be able to have items that would fit my friend, (size 6, tall, C/D) and me (size 14, tall, & bigger than DD). Tania, the knowledgeable sales person, treated both of us with such warmth, care, preciseness that we will be frequent shoppers during our visits to NYC from California. I was so pleased with the service and selection, that I brought several friends back the following day to try their hand at finding the perfect undergarments. Again, the service was excellent. I am delighted with my purchase and loved the array of lingerie in such a range of sizes and prices. La petite coquette provides an elegant, playful, and wonderfully charming shopping experience offering high quality pieces.

There aren't enough words to describe how much I love La Petit Coquette! It's one of my favorite stores, period. And I know my stores. Forget that they have the most beautiful things (La Perla, etc), a huge variety (too many brands to mention), the staples I will always want (Hanky Panky boyshorts!). The place itself and the ladies who work there are what make it so special and fun to go to. It's an adorable store, decorated exactly how a lingerie store should be. And whoever helps me makes me feel great about my body and never makes me feel like I have to buy something. Alexandra helped me when I desperately needed a good strapless bra. From telling me I was wearing the wrong size just by looking at me to giving me three different bras to try on, each better than the last, she was amazing. It was a real education! And most recently, I went for my birthday, to treat myself to more things I didn't need, and Tania found my sizes when they weren't out and kept checking for more, no matter how many times I asked. She let me wander around over and over, checking on me to make sure I didn't need anything, in a helpful way, not a pushy way. They are so sweet and make the experience so fun. I really can't say enough about this place! If I could, I'd go every week! Trust me, once you go, it will become a favorite of yours, too.

La Petite Coquette is staffed by cool, knowledgeable, fun women who "sparkle." Their knowledge base combined with the terrific inventory of product: La Perla, Woolford, etc make the entire experience fun and worthwhile. Ask for Tania, she's a hoot!

I had another great experience in this small shop. My friend and I went in and were each trying on bras. Kate was so helpful, knowledgable and patient as she brought out various styles and sizes. Kate was on target as to which ones we had tried, which fit the best--we tried on for approximately an hour. I so appreciated her attitude and warmth. She is a great salesperson without being pushy. Thanks!

I absolutely LOVE this store. It has a very warm, cozy, intimate feel to it, and the selection is fabulous and varied. And the sales staff, ESPECIALLY Alexandra, is wonderful, very knowledgeable and helpful. If you're looking for a special gift for a special woman, this is the place to go.

I had the most wonderful experience! TANIA was a great help! My past bra shopping experiences have basically been unsuccessful. I usually end up leaving the shop with something my great grandmother would wear, and not in a funky vintage way. I am 21 and wear a 32 F. At first I was a bit discouraged knowing about the degree clientele from previous postings. I am a recent graduate I needed something functional and lacy to fit in my budget. Tania made me feel like a million! She showed me how to work with my body type and things to look out for. I never had so many options. While I would have liked to walk out with a stunning 269.00 number, I left with three bras for about the same price. Most importantly I left feeling beautiful, and confident. A+ for the variety and service! I can't think of ever shopping anywhere else!

My thirteen-year old daughter bought the owner's book at home in Oregon and really wanted to go to her store when she found out we were going to NYC. Tracy was so sweet and helpful. She even went down and got the owner so my daughter could meet her before we left.

This store is also great because they have sizes that we can't find elsewhere such as 32F. We will be back if we come back to NYC.
