I've gone here a few times already and when I compare to other places, I still don't think it's a salon experience that I find to be any better than other places. The coloring job is just OK. I feel like I could do the same thing at home. Haircut came out great but the second time, I had a different stylist and she was pretty awful. I'd say that a good hair job depends on what stylist you get because so far the experience here has varied.

I rate myself as a very picky, hard-to-please client. I have been to MANY salons from the West to East coast and this salon surpassed all my expectations and experiences. From the moment I entered, I was greeted with smiles and very friendly staff, which is a HUGE part of the whole salon experience. In the past at other salons, if I didn't feel welcomed, I didn't return. This salon is staffed with the best of the best, and yet maintain their down-to-earth warm vibe. Even Roy himself commented on how great my hair looked and he was so sweet! I had my hair cut by Laurianne, and she is the sweetest and most friendly girl! The moment I first spoke to her, I could tell that I would leave this experience in her hands, I trusted her that much. I never before felt like I didn't need to talk a stylist through what I wanted in my cut- she blew me away with her knowledge...a real professional. After she was done, not only did I get a perfect, beautiful cut, but she styled it with such precision, that it was the best looking hair I had ever had! Thank you to the salon for a wonderful experience, well worth the price. I will be back!

Ok first off can I just mention i am probably the cheapest person you will ever meet. I do not like to overspend my money where it is not needed. I also happen to live in Connecticut. I wanted to treat my mother to an amazing haircut and color. She has never been able to have exactly what she has wanted before so I did some research and decided to take her to the city. I took a chance and although hesitant I really wanted my mother to love her hair. It was hideous before we went to the salon to say the least. After my mothers constant bickering about going all the way to New York we finally arrived to the salon. I was initially impressed and saw that it was very comfortable and high class setting. I was greeted by Michelle and Antoine the sweetest French man ever!!! As I said earlier my mothers hair was hideous and this horrible brownish color. She had always been a blond and ruined her color by some hairstylist in CT. After Michelle broke the news that my mother could not get her blond color by this visit only my mother was upset, however I had trust in her. She told my mother she would add some blond highlights. She did this and after came the cut. IT WAS THE MOST AMAZING CUT EVER! I COULD NOT BELIEVE MY EYES! ANTOINE WAS LITERALLY A GENIUS! My mother was in tears the highlights were amazing, the cut was truly unbelievable and this was by far the best experience ever.

P.S. free manicure and the best one I ever received. Edith took her time and did a fabulous job!

My hair is very difficult to color because it turns red very easily. I was looking for natural looking highlights, as if lightened by the sun, to brighten my face but not noticebly processed. Russ was the greatest! He took his time to listen and talked out the process with me until we came to a full understanding and agreement of what would be done. The results are fabulous!!! I got it done 3 weeks ago and I am still enjoying immensely. The color came out exactly the way I wanted it. And no turning red like in most other salons. Russ is really an expert and a true professional. Really sweet too!!
After the color was done, Enzo gave me a gorgeous "dry cut". He blow dries the hair pin straight and then contours the hair to your face and body. It is truly amazing! My hair just lays so beautifully and frames my face and accentuates my whole look. It is truly me!!!

I have been searching for a hair dresser for years that knew how to give my curls a nice cut so that they always have a great shape even without doing much to it like blow drying it or spending hours on styling it in the morning.
I found Roy Teeluck Salon through a friend and fell in love with the place right away.
The staff is very professional, young and friendly.
They offer you a nice glass of wine or cup of coffee upon arrival. Then you meet with a hair stylist who will spend time with you and always have a great idea and are experienced and knowleadgable in giving you suggestions on what your preference is for a cut or style.
The washers are great and friendly always and give you a nice massage while washing your hair.
Then you're off to the cut - and in just only few snippets of hair you're done with an amazing cut and style.
The stylists that I've met so far at the Salon are Dora and Ali and they're both amazing.
Very happy with the Salon and would highly recommend it to all.

Arrogant, don't listen to the client. In the middle of applying extensions, I was told to step aside so that another client could be styled, thus my service took an extra hour & half. Apparently my $2000+ wasn't enough to be a valuable client. Awful final hairstyle/extensions too!

I have a situation with my hair...it's not easy to cut and have it look good every day without junk in it. And I won't use the junk. I was a little apprehensive because the address is high-fashion row and my high-fashion days are well behind me. But when I got there, everyone was very nice (without being phony). They are professional without being stuffy. The salon is a comfortable space with every kind of client you can imagine. My stylist was great and spent the time finding out about my lifestyle, considered my face shape, etc. I've been back since that 1st time and will go back again and again.

I have been visiting Andre for extensions for years now.
Having lived in Miami and Los Angeles, he is without a doubt the best in the hair extension business.
My hair is full, natural, very easy to take care of, and simply beautiful.
Andre is very good at keeping up to date on all new extension techniques as well as cutting.

I got the best haircut EVER by Laurianne! She walks on water in my books after she was able to fix the10th crap cut I got in Ottawa a couple weeks prior to seeing her. It's so great that I won't cut my hair again till I return to see her. She has a confident cutting style which I've never seen before and really knew what needed to be done, like a true pro.
Manicure: I got a free manicure done by Edith. This lady rocks as well and is great fun. She gave me the best manicure I've ever had (no kidding) and I can't stop staring at my nails!! It makes me look pompous but I cant help it.
Keep up the great work Ladies and keep well. Cheers! Char.

I have now been to RT Salon 3 times. I definitely remember getting a free manicure the first time as well as some free products (which I liked so much I bought myself when I ran out). Russ does my highlights and he is right-on every time. Yesterday I asked for something a little warmer for autumn and he nailed it! He knows I can only afford to come every 6 months for color and applies it accordingly.

I've met Roy, too, as he used me for a free haircut demo 7 months ago. I've vowed never to cut my hair again as it is only getting better as time passes...

I have been meaning to write this review forever! When i came to Sandra my hair was a mess. I went to Mizu to go blond and they really messed up my hair. Sandra fixed it in early June and i have been going to her ever since. First, she is amazingly experienced and is careful. As in.. i went from dark dark brown to blond and she manages to keep my hair in great shape. Second, she always makes sure that i look natural. No one can tell that i am not a natural blond.. they are always surprised when i say i have dark brown hair. She is great.. and I really owe her everything when it comes to my fab blond. I love it! and i am def sticking with it.

Hair Cut: Laurianne ... she gave me a sexy cut that I can manage. She also styled my hair for a wedding which was simple, classy and made me feel amazing. She def has some skills! I got a cut with some other people from Roy, and they were great.. but she just got it!

I had a cut with Ali two days ago and am still deciding how I feel about my hair. The length is great, but I feel like the style is a little staid and just not as edgy as I'd hoped for. It's truly not his fault; at the time I said I loved it (because what am I supposed to say if I'm simply ambivalent about it?). He is wonderful, a great listener, very sweet and very good at what he does. I have no doubt that if I'd said that I wanted something a little funkier, a little funkier is what I would have gotten. Now for logistics: I was never offered something to drink, didn't get my complimentary manicure or 20% off. The woman at the reception desk said I'd get 20% off on my second visit- no big deal, but it wasn't what I'd expected. The salon itself is in a posh neighborhood, but could definitely use a facelift. It has a weird layout with the color stations and washbasins in the back and funnels toward cutting and styling in the front. All in all, I'm not exactly effusive about the experience, but Ali was so great that I'm sure I'll be back.

I went looking for a permanent place for haircut. First of all, take the citysearch discount and free manicure! Great deal. What can be better have Tim cuts my hair, Edith does my nails over a glass of Chianti with Sigourney Weaver coloring her roots in the backroom. It is a diva treatment. Tim really takes the time to access what you need and gives a cut that you can manage. He even offer complimanary bang trims inbetween haircut. I like him because he does not push other service or product on you. He is just a gentle soul who is passionate about hair. I usually will wait for a week before determining whether I wouldn't go back...because by then I can truly see if the haircut is manageable. It is definitely costly but you do get what you pay for with service that good.

For someone who has gone to sooooo many places to get hair extensions, I just want to say that Andre Davis at Roy Teeluck salon has magic hands - he matched my extensions to my hair to the T, styled it and gave me tips on how to care for them. NO ONE can tell I am even wearing extensions and I can wear my hair in a pony tail without the extensions showing. IF you want great extensions, undivided attention and more importantly a stylists that actually listens to you - call Andre Davis!

I found the Roy Teeluck salon through a search and couldn't be happier. I needed a color and cut and was introduced to Abby and Ali.

Abby is a true professional who knows what is best for your hair color and type. She has learned from the best and it shows through her work. Before we got started, Abby educated me on what was the best route to go with for color on my hair. She introduced me to a process called Balayage. I had never heard of it before so she explained everything about it. She was right! My hair color has never looked so good. Abby did a fantastic job and I cannot wait to go back and see her again! She's not only a professional colorist, but a sincere, caring person who truly wants you to leave 150% satisfied!

Ali was next! I have thin hair that I am determined to grow out. He explained what would be the best cut for my hair type. He cut it in such a way that created both movement and thickness to my hair. I could keep it long thanks to Ali! I can't wait to have him cut it again!!

Everyone at the salon is fantastic- Keith, Abby, Ali, Andrea, Daniel, Edith, Catherine, Roy, Roland, etc.! I highly recommend giving the salon a try. You will not be disappointed! They are a family run salon that truly takes pride in their work and business!

Wow! I got my hair cut by the fabulous Laurianne at Roy Teeluck salon a couple of weeks ago. I have long hair and wanted to keep it that way, so was comforted when I met Laurianne and saw she had beautiful long hair also. I had been frustrated because my long hair had no movement or face-framing style, so I described to Laurianne what I envisioned as my perfect haircut.

Well, not only is Laurianne sweet and beautiful, but she proceeded to give me one of the best haircuts I've ever had. It's so good, in fact, that I've used no appliances--no blow dryers, no flattening or curling irons--and no product beyond shampoo and conditioner and, if I do say so myself, I look fantastic.

I'm sure I'll be able to get a more polished look if and when I decide to work on my hair at all, but it has not been necessary. My style is more casual, I admit, but the precision and flair of Laurianne's cut has my hair--colicks and all-- falling, framing, and bouncing quite naturally to provide ease and style I never dreamed possible. THANK YOU LAURIANNE. Now, I hope I don't have trouble getting an appointment from now on.... :)

P.S. Everyone else at the salon was wonderful too. AND I got to see Carrie Fisher there (sans her double-donut 'do :))

I am not from NY, but decided to get my haircut while in the city. I wanted someone who could look at my face shape and hair texture and give me the perfect style. Ali at the Roy Teeluck salon in mid-town over delivered on my expectations.

Ali was very friendly and open to listening about the challenges I have with my long face and fine, wavy hair. H recommended a shoulder length style with a few layers that was absolutely perfect. He told me what he was doing throughout the process and made me feel comfortable with everything.

Not only was the cut perfect, but the styling really made it spectacular! I've had the cut for two days and am starting to get the hang of doing it myself, but Ali is clearly magical with a round brush and blow-dryer! My hair actually listened to him!

I can't wait for my next trip to NY to see Ali and all of the other wonderful people at Roy Teeluck.

Recommended for ANYONE!

The salon is very nice and everyone is super friendly. They don't push products on you like other high end salons--which is very annoying. That said, the only reason I go to this salon is because of Tim. If he cut hair in a dark alleyway I'd go there. I've been going to him for at least 10 years and he has never given me a cut that I have not been totally in love with. He doesn't over cut or undercut -- meaning I don't feel scalped and yet I feel like the cut has put shape back into my hair and it will last a long time. He's super nice and easy to talk to as well. Great, great hair stylist.

Tim at Roy Teeluck is exceptional, he is great and very understanding. You can talk to Tim before the haircut to discuss your preferences, Tim will suggest what will work best for you. He is very detail oriented and creative. I used to have a very short hair cut and when decided to grow hair, I kept changing hair dressers until I met Tim. After Tim's work, your hair will stay in style, will be very easy to style and work with on the daily basis. Very -very satisfied with Tim's work !!

I just moved in NY and a friend of mine recommended i should go see Abby for Balayage ,she is very intuitive of what you want ,but also she took her time to explain the process of the result will be better as you do less in highlites Her motto is you need some depth of a natural color to see the highlites .She painted my hair in a direction of how i wear it in daily basis and it looks amazing i love it .Im very happy and i will deffinately go back ,also the glass of wine is a great plus while you getting your hair done :)

I had my appointment with Laurianne last week, and I wasn't sure what I wanted or needed. My last haircut at another salon was done badly and my hair has grown out poorly because of it (never going back there!) but I am really thankful to have come here - Laurianne knew what to do to clean it up and give my hair a nice, fresh start. Laurianne takes her time cutting your hair with precision and makes sure she listens to what you want. She knows what is best for your individual hair type and how to help achieve your hairstyle goal. Mine is to grow my hair out longer again, nice and strong which is why she gave me a great basic cut that looks healthy and shiny. I did not want to lose my length so she took off just enough to get rid of the dead ends and damage. As for my bangs, she knew exactly which length and style would be the most flattering for my face shape. I got tons of compliments on my bangs all day the moment I left the salon. My hair is naturally very frizzy and curly, and Laurianne was able to give me a super sleek and smooth blow-out. My hair felt amazing to touch when she was done styling. Laurianne is a talented and knowledgeable stylist who will take her time giving you the best possible cut. The salon is beautiful inside and all the employees are very polite and professional. I'm excited to go back in just a few weeks to have my bangs trimmed and make a follow up appointment - with Laurianne of course! She is a sweetheart and truly the best. Call and ask for her, you will not be disappointed!!!

staff are friendly. Atmosphere is not intimidating to someone like me who can usually feel a tad out of place in a upscale salon. and Ali was the one I saw and he was a wonderful listener, specially when it came to length. made good suggestions for my face shape, hair texture (wavy and thick). he gave me the best long layered cut I have had. what has really impressed me is how well it grows out between cuts. also i just wash, air dry, put my hair up in a bun which I let loose after a few hours and get lovely waves.
As mentioned in this economy its getting harder to justify an expensive cut no matter how great it is so keeping space between cuts is important. I have to say though the price is reasonable when you take into account the great cut, service and the fact that we are talking about midtown manhattan.

I had a WONDERFUL first experience at this salon. Sandra did a great job on the color and took extra time at the end because even though I thought it looked fine she wasn't quite satisfied - and she was right, she added a little more color that really put that extra spark in it! And Ali gave me a great haircut despite the challenge of working with a really short, really bad previous cut I had gotten someplace else.
It is so refreshing to look in the mirror now and smile instead of cringe!
All of the staff was very friendly and welcoming as well.

Went for highlights with Sandra, she is very nice and easy going and did a great job - exactly what I wanted. Enzo finished me off with an amazing blowout - I also have to add that they are very big on making sure their costumers are happy Best customer service I have ever experienced. I did not find prices to be too bad either. I have already recommended friends to this salon and will definitely be back for my haircut in a month.

I was recommended Roy Teeluck Salon by a friend of mine who is a great hair stylist in LA. Most salons located in midtown manhattan are too busy to give you their time of day, no matter how much $$$$$ you are paying. However, the staff here was so delightful and a pleasure to be in company with which made everything, combined with the great results, a lovely experience. Cristale Dufay is what I would call a real hair stylist...she took the time to really work with me on the vision i had and treated my hair really well. Three days has past since my cut and style with her and my hair still has volume and feels good. She knew exactly what products where right for my hair and I recommend her to anyone who wants...so thanks Cristale and if any of you read this, you won't be disappointed if you go to Roy Teeluck as a client of Cristale's.

I just had my first experience at Roy Teeluck Salon. I booked a manicure and haircut. It was better than I was anticipating, even after reading great reviews. I was greeted so kindly by the front desk and immediately shown where the restrooms were and where my shampooing would take place and where I would be getting my haircut. I was offered a drink (water, coffee, tea, etc.) and taken to a chair where Edith did my nails - perfectly. I explained to her the shape/length/color I was looking for and she did it perfectly - and even picked a color I hadn't tried before but fit the natural look I was going for. She was personable and thorough and very clean with her work. I then had my haircut with Ali who was sweet and honest with what would look best with my face shape. I was offered more things to drink, too. Just so pleasant and thoughtful. My hair came out great - I was so pleased. AND, the biggest test of all: I met my bf down the street after my appointment and I was greeted with, "Wow - looks amazing! Hotness!" - and he's as honest as they come. I already booked my next visit with Ali and am so excited to have found such quality service and care.
Oh, and as if this all wasn't enough - my manicure was complimentary. First time clients get a complimentary manicure! So great!
Can't wait to go out tonight with the new haircut! It feels healthy and great!

I have been visiting the Roy Teeluck Salon several times and would not let anyone else cut my hair anymore! My stylist is Tim, he is incredible - every time I go there I get a new style, fresh, modern, amazing! I hesitated the first time before making an appointment, because it is quite expensive, especially because I am a student - but it is so worth it! If you go there, you won't regret it, 100%!

Today I had my best hair salon experience. This is my first time at Roy Teeluck and certainly wont be the last. i strongly reccoment it for those who are looking for a good natural, and modern styling. My new look is exactly what I was looking for. The fabulous French stylist Laurianne, knew exactly what I was looking for and executed it with ease and confidence. I loved the friendly personel. Everyone was so nice and welcoming. My hair now feels soft, healthy and looks gorgeous!!

I love my haircut - it's exactly what i was hoping for. Laurianne knew exactly what my hair needed - a nice conditioning treatment and a playful cut that will be easy to manage. She did a fabulous blowout that looked natural and she didn't even have to put any product in (which i loved because i rarely use product myself). I walked out feeling very pretty :)

I'm a man and I went to get my hair colored for the first time. I was a little nervous but Sandra did an excellent job at blending my gray. She gave me a natural look and my wife thought it was done in very good taste.

Laurianne cut my hair. I pretty much gave her carte-blanche. She was warm and attentive. She has a very solid sense of style and by the time she was done I felt great.

The entire staff was exceedingly friendly and not pretentious. This was a very positive experience for me.

I'd recommend this salon to my friends.

I felt I had struck gold when I found Antoine! After having experienced many, many bad haircuts throughout my life, this lovely Frenchman is very technically advanced, a hairstyle perfectionist, listen to what you want and/or suggest what hairstyle that would suit you, very good at coloring/highlights, and is also a very nice and charming man.

It was a sad day the day he left London for NYC but I wanted to share my experience with everyone as you are now lucky to have him. You will not be disappointed!

Thank you Russ! I went yesterday to the salon as a platinum blond. . I have gone to nearly five salons in the past six months what an experience from turning grey,brown,platinum again,then with dark steaks..yikes...I have been through the ringer both financially & frustratingly.

from the time you enter the salon, the staff is very welcoming. they offrt you hot/cold tea, hot/iced cofee and wine. Laurianne (stylist) gave me a great haircut, very modern and fresh. she is very artistic and listened to what I said. Everyone at work and on the streets has commented on my hair! Thank you!

I have to say that I've been to many salons and hairdressers in New York, and none of them have given me the service and professional hair-care quite like Roy Teeluck. The staff is friendly and fun, the place is cozy and luxurious, and (of course) Teeluck's uses top of the line hair care.
I went in to get highlights from Russ-who's fantastic-and ended up not completely satisfied with the results... so I called them up and asked if I could reschedule an appointment for the next day. They were happy to do so, and the next day Russ immediately went into up-ing my hair even further without any extra charge. Roy Teeluck's wants their costumers to be extra pleased.

I felt at ease with Laurianne the moment I sat on her chair. She completely metamorphosed my peasant frump into goddess tresses.

I've been to this salon a few times, and have never been disappointed. Abby & Russ brought me from light brown to blonde to dark brown with no problem. The colorists always come to check on you if/when you get your hair cut in order to make sure they got the color right - Russ even pulled me back to correct it when he saw that mine was too light. I'm moving out of state, and he even offered to have my new salon call him in order to get my color right. Abby is fantastic with the balayage - i have a lot of hair, and she spent all the time necessary to do it right.

Laurianne is (i think) a new stylist. Not only is she adorable, but she did a fantastic job with my cut. She listened to what I wanted, and did a great job offering to me what she thought i needed as well. That's a sign of a great stylist, if you ask me.

I am seriously considering coming back to visit NYC every 6 weeks just to come back here!

I usually do not bother reviewing anything online, but I am so happy with the results I really want to recommend Russ! He took the time to sit and discuss my color before proceeding, which I really liked, because it made me feel included in the whole process. While the color was setting he would check in every once in a while and make sure my hair was coming along ok. Even as I waited everyone was so friendly, and people who weren't helping me would ask if I needed a drink. In the end Russ achieved the exact shade of blond I was looking for and it still looked relatively healthy and shiny.

Pros: Amazing colorist and friendly staff

Cons: Be prepared, the decor is dated

First I gotta tell you that, like most of you, Im obsessed with my hair ! Ive spent my whole life looking for the best hairstylistes !
Im from France, well know for Beauty, Fashion, and Style !
But it happened that I finnaly found the best, here, in NEW YORK !
Laurianne is just amazing !
Not only that she does amazing cuts, she KNOWS hair !
She understand your issue with it, at the first sight ! Too fine, too dry, not enough body, no shape.... And she always comes up with THE solution !

Ive seen her portfolio, she does movies stars hair, beauty queen's hair, fashion shows... Shes very creative and talented. But she knows what to do, whether youre on the fashion week's podium or in the audience ! And thats what i like the most about her !

DO NOT HESITATE ! you wont regret it !

Congratulations to Roy teeluck for having her !

When I called to make an appointment, I found that my stylist was on vacation. I needed to get my hair cut and they suggested Laurianne. I am sooooo pleased with her. I have very fine hair but lots of it - and no body.

Laurainne and I spoke first about what I wanted, she made some suggestions - showing me my profile and how she thought my hair should look from all angles !! The cut she gave me is beautiful. I have gotten many compliments. My hair falls naturally and looks great. She is a nice to speak with but when she is working, she is very absorbed in getting your cut right. I can not say enough about her - I would highly recommend her - go ahead - treat yourself - you won't regret it.
