I loved my overall experience at Roy Teeluck but mainly I was blown away by the expertise Abby bestowed upon me. She is a true artist...

Not only can you not tell I had any hair coloring process, it is so beautiful...She is the first hair colorist who actually "understood" what I have been trying to achieve all these years...

I loved getting my haircut from Laurianne! She made me feel valued by taking her time to perfectly cut my hair. I like how she added volume to my hair. Laurianne is also a very friendly and caring person. I enjoyed talking to her.

I'm a man and I went to get my hair colored for the first time. I was a little nervous but Sandra did an excellent job at blending my gray. She gave me a natural look and my wife thought it was done in very good taste.

Laurianne cut my hair. I pretty much gave her carte-blanche. She was warm and attentive. She has a very solid sense of style and by the time she was done I felt great.

The entire staff was exceedingly friendly and not pretentious. This was a very positive experience for me.

I'd recommend this salon to my friends.

I felt I had struck gold when I found Antoine! After having experienced many, many bad haircuts throughout my life, this lovely Frenchman is very technically advanced, a hairstyle perfectionist, listen to what you want and/or suggest what hairstyle that would suit you, very good at coloring/highlights, and is also a very nice and charming man.

It was a sad day the day he left London for NYC but I wanted to share my experience with everyone as you are now lucky to have him. You will not be disappointed!

Thank you Russ! I went yesterday to the salon as a platinum blond. . I have gone to nearly five salons in the past six months what an experience from turning grey,brown,platinum again,then with dark steaks..yikes...I have been through the ringer both financially & frustratingly.
Russ got it!! Russ made me feel like he really cares. He listens to what I wanted and instructed me how we are going to get there:) My hair looks a million dollars!:) Also had a fabulous maincure..

from the time you enter the salon, the staff is very welcoming. they offrt you hot/cold tea, hot/iced cofee and wine. Laurianne (stylist) gave me a great haircut, very modern and fresh. she is very artistic and listened to what I said. Everyone at work and on the streets has commented on my hair! Thank you!

I have to say that I've been to many salons and hairdressers in New York, and none of them have given me the service and professional hair-care quite like Roy Teeluck. The staff is friendly and fun, the place is cozy and luxurious, and (of course) Teeluck's uses top of the line hair care.
I went in to get highlights from Russ-who's fantastic-and ended up not completely satisfied with the results... so I called them up and asked if I could reschedule an appointment for the next day. They were happy to do so, and the next day Russ immediately went into up-ing my hair even further without any extra charge. Roy Teeluck's wants their costumers to be extra pleased.

p.s: Ask for Laurianne when you get a blow-out. She is new at Teeluck's, fun, and full of energy.

I've been to this salon a few times, and have never been disappointed. Abby & Russ brought me from light brown to blonde to dark brown with no problem. The colorists always come to check on you if/when you get your hair cut in order to make sure they got the color right - Russ even pulled me back to correct it when he saw that mine was too light. I'm moving out of state, and he even offered to have my new salon call him in order to get my color right. Abby is fantastic with the balayage - i have a lot of hair, and she spent all the time necessary to do it right.

Laurianne is (i think) a new stylist. Not only is she adorable, but she did a fantastic job with my cut. She listened to what I wanted, and did a great job offering to me what she thought i needed as well. That's a sign of a great stylist, if you ask me.

I am seriously considering coming back to visit NYC every 6 weeks just to come back here!

I usually do not bother reviewing anything online, but I am so happy with the results I really want to recommend Russ! He took the time to sit and discuss my color before proceeding, which I really liked, because it made me feel included in the whole process. While the color was setting he would check in every once in a while and make sure my hair was coming along ok. Even as I waited everyone was so friendly, and people who weren't helping me would ask if I needed a drink. In the end Russ achieved the exact shade of blond I was looking for and it still looked relatively healthy and shiny.

First I gotta tell you that, like most of you, Im obsessed with my hair ! Ive spent my whole life looking for the best hairstylistes !
Im from France, well know for Beauty, Fashion, and Style !
But it happened that I finnaly found the best, here, in NEW YORK !
Laurianne is just amazing !
Not only that she does amazing cuts, she KNOWS hair !
She understand your issue with it, at the first sight ! Too fine, too dry, not enough body, no shape.... And she always comes up with THE solution !

Ive seen her portfolio, she does movies stars hair, beauty queen's hair, fashion shows... Shes very creative and talented. But she knows what to do, whether youre on the fashion week's podium or in the audience ! And thats what i like the most about her !

DO NOT HESITATE ! you wont regret it !

When I called to make an appointment, I found that my stylist was on vacation. I needed to get my hair cut and they suggested Laurianne. I am sooooo pleased with her. I have very fine hair but lots of it - and no body.

Laurainne and I spoke first about what I wanted, she made some suggestions - showing me my profile and how she thought my hair should look from all angles !! The cut she gave me is beautiful. I have gotten many compliments. My hair falls naturally and looks great. She is a nice to speak with but when she is working, she is very absorbed in getting your cut right. I can not say enough about her - I would highly recommend her - go ahead - treat yourself - you won't regret it.

I have followed Russ the colorist for years now. When he finally convinced me to switch over to Balyage several months ago I was unconvinced, I've been foiling highlights for over ten years and always like that he could get the blonde right to the root finely and evenly.

However, since I got married and have a child now, I just can't be in the salon often, and the balyage really helps stretch out visits and doesn't have the razory edge growing out like foil does.

It's taken a couple of visits to get the softer effect but I'm very happy with the result. I thought at first there wasn't enough blonde but it only took another quick visit to put more in, thanks Russ for being so patient!

The staff is very nice, Yoanne does a GREAT blowout!

A friend suggested I try Roy Teeluck. I went in there with a terrible dye job (really dark black, bluish hues, terrible against my fair skin) and I had about 3/4 inch of my shiny grey coming through the roots. I was not a happy camper. Abby was amazing -- very soothing, willing to explain what she thought would work to fix it (single process and a few highlights) and it ended up looking phenomenal. I am getting many compliments. They were able to fit me in for a styling (with Johans)- only $35 with the color job and it looked great. So, every penny I spent felt worth it to me and I will definitely be going back soon -- next time for cut and color! cheers

I went for my appt. on 6/6/09 and as soon as I walked in I was quickly assisted. Everyone there was so friendly. As soon as I sat down, Abby walked over, introduced herself and sat down with me to discuss what I was interested in doing with my hair. I explained I wanted something different and needed a professional oppinion on what would look best on me. I already had some faded highlights and my brown roots were growing out. She recommended I go with my natural base color and add a few subtle highlights. Abby and her assistant, Danielle were great, explaining what they were doing the whole time!

My hair was then cut by Ali, and he's just too cute. I told him to do whatever he felt would look best on me and he said he wanted to cut my hair short. I already had a bob, so I was a little nervous since I have chubby cheeks. But Ali was able to make me feel very comfortable and explained everything he did, and how I could maintain it on my own. (which I needed since my hair is naturally curly)

For the past week and a half, I have been getting complimented everywhere I go. Everyone says the cut fits my face perfectly and I am truely in love with the whole look. It's Stylish and Sheek. Thank you Soo much Abby & Ali!!

I went in desperate to fix my hair ruined elsewhere. My hair is boring dark brown hair and wanted highlights. I left with ugly stripes. I was averse to going back to the same place to fix it and chose Roy Teeluck instead. Sandra gave me what I asked for, beautiful, rich, caramel highlights that blend in beautifully with my brown hair . I left very happy. Thank you for making my hair beautiful!

I was pleasantly surprised to have won a visit at this salon. It was more than expected. I was greeted with a smile, Offered beverages and introduced to my stylist within 3 minutes of walking in. Ali was a highly proficient stylist with an adorable personality. My eyebrows looked wonderful after meeting Duffy, and I had a great manicure. Prices are reasonable considering the East 57th Street location. I will definitely be returning.

Went in for a much needed cut today and met for the first time with Ali who gave me a really lovely consultation and listened to all of my likes/dislikes. I was then sent to get washed by Johans who went above and beyond the call of shampoo duty with an amazing 5-minute head massage that put me in a trance. aahhhhhh

Back to reality and in the salon chair, Ali was precise, used several scissors and has a great eye. I have extremely long hair and he worked his magic to make it look like while still giving it lots of volume and shape.

And the soundtrack in the salon is smooth and sexy....Gotan Project, Zero 7, etc. Excellent ambiance!

I admit that my hair is not the easiest to cut. It is wavy, with medium texture and has a tendency to frizz. The fullness of my tresses can be deceiving, even for very experienced stylists; grab the wrong tool, cut at the wrong angle and my locks turn instantly into a Medusa-like halo. Of course I can spend 30 min. each day to style my new cool cut, but really...who wants that?? I prefer to wash and go...my hair can be an asset if cut the way IT likes it!!
I've had many top notch stylists cut my hair to only end up with a frizz ball. But not Dora. She was able to tame and bring forth my hair's natural beauty. Dora, your are a savior...Thank you!!

My friend Julie recommended the Roy Teeluck Salon knowing how very picky I am when it comes to salons/stylists. So I figured it was worth a try.

Upon arrival, I was immediately impressed with the staff who were friendly and attentive.
(Addressing my first pet peeve--where most salons are neither).

My appointment was with Tim for a cut. With a warm greeting he first sat me down for a little chat about what I wanted. He really listened--and immediately grasped a sense of my style which (despite my picky salon issue) is pretty natural and low-maintenance.
A lot of time and care were taken throughout the cutting process. Besides being immensely sweet and fun to talk to, he'd steer me back occasionally to point out what he was doing--and get my feedback. The experience made me realize I was in the hands of a talented and complete professional. It's been so long since I've had a really great cut, I'd forgotten what a huge difference it makes! I love it and have received many compliments to boot!

As a first time client I was also treated to a complimentary manicure with the amazing Edith.
She too immediately gauged my style and gave me the most luxurious manicure with a color I wouldn't have chosen, but looked great...who knew?! Apparently Edith did!

Having such a good experience, I decided to take the plunge and have my eyebrows done--for the first time ever--with Duffy.
She too was a quick study with an expert hand. I'd always thought the benefits of brow-shaping were an exaggeration, but I have to say I'm a total convert. In the most subtle way your eye is opened up and you look like rested and rejuvenated. A miniature face-lift!

As you might guess I give the Roy Teeluck Salon rave reviews!

Tim Johnson makes you look and feel like a million dollars! He really listens to what you want and executes your ideas perfectly.

No detail is overlooked coffee, wine, manicure! I even sat next to the fabulous Jane Fonda one day ... what a thrill! :)

After a bad experience with another colorist at Roy Teeluck my whole experience was changed by a wonderful person Sandra. She is understanding, practices patience, attentive.....everything one would hope for. Sandra took time to talk to me and understand what my ideas were and what was I looking for. Sandra suggested to give my hair color a new dimension but putting only a few highlights very subtle to meld with my base color. For the first time I did not ask for swatches of color and I was pleasantly surprised with my hair color. Sandra gave me beautiful warm brown highlights and a beautiful light brown for my base color. Sandra also did my moms hair and the color came out beautiful. My mother also loves her. She is so positive that everything turns out wonderful....the crew that works with her is so pleasant such as Danielle, Lexi, Keith. I am so happy that I found Sandra

Positively wonderful experience. I loved every minute of it! There are many ways to be blonde - but really there is only one way - the Roy Teeluck way. Run, don't walk today! I acutally attended a color class on Tuesday nights. There are also cut classes. Its a great way to see the inner workings of the salon and be supervised by Roy himself. He's tough on his staff - but in a way that will eventually make them superstars and it was great to observe a true master in action! For non-class color - see Russ or Michelle (did some of my strands - she's amazing!). Can't vouch for cuts - but Johan did a blowout. I'd go to the man himself for a cut if you could - I mean - this is a man who knows hair! and it does matter!!!!

I love my hair. I have hard hair to work with and its very hard to please me. But the experince was perfact. She really listen to me and asked me a lot of questions to really figure out what i was looking for. And she listen and now i love the results. The astomphere was very relaxing and the staff was very friendly and warm. Happy to say i found my salon :)

I love coming to the Roy Teeluck. A nice glass of wine, a professional look at my hair and Antoine was on his way giving me one of the best cuts I have had in years. I love the way it falls and the subtle layers that he brought out.

I had my hair cut by Antoine for the first time, and not only do I now have a beautiful haircut, but I can tell it will grow out beautifully as well, which is a huge plus in my book. Also, he said I could come in anytime between cuts for a touch up at no charge, which is also a wonderful perk. I highly recommend this salon. It was a great experience.

Abby- all I have to say!!! I am so incredibly pleased with my balayage I have gone to several different hair salons, but with no luck finding an individual who would color the way I want, or even close for that matter. I was so impressed with the way Abby had dyed my sister's hair (the color is beautiful too) that I made the appointment two days later, past Saturday, Apr.24. It has been about a week now and everyday I wake up I look forward to the way I will be styling my hair that day. Abby and her team took her time to help me find the perfect color (I am extremely picky) and I cannot thank her ENOUGH for her fabulous sense of style, WHAT A TALENT!!! I found my permanent hair dresser, and I am so excited and relieved!Thank you Abby, keep up the amazing work!!!! The environment as well was very comfortable, and amazing front desk staff. Had my hair cut by Ali once before and really liked it. Second time I came he just went at it with the razor and completely butchered my hair. Even he couldn't hide the slightly uncomfortable look on his face upon seeing his finished "masterpiece." For as much as you're paying for a haircut consistency should be key. Will never go here again.

I went a few months ago to see Gabriel after my sister had the haircut of a lifetime from him. Gabriel was great - easy to talk to, felt comfortable in the setting. He gave me a GREAT haircut that I loved at the time. I'm writing the review just now because, I'm sure you know, how a haircut grows out is just as important! Well two months later it still looks fabulous! The prices aren't the cheapest, but with hair you get what you pay for! On the other hand, I've paid a lot more for a lot worse. I'll definitely be going back. Only tip - don't put off making your appointment, they do get booked, but that should speak of their great quality!

My colorist was Sandra, and I went in to get highlights. My hair is naturally dark and I was always afraid to get any color done before. I always thought that with dark hair, non-tacky highlights are harder to obtain. I told Sandra I wanted natural and subtle, but still stylish - and that's exactly what I got. My hair isn't overdone, it matches my skin tone and my eyes, and it's absolutely brilliant for spring and summer. I'm ready for the beach and the sun! Thanks Sandra, I'll definitely be back.

From the moment I walked into the salon I received such great service. The receptionist was very courteous, the coat check attendant very friendly, Johannes (hope I spelled your name right) was so sweet - he served us our drinks and gave me the best wash and hair massage I've ever had in a salon. Then comes Ali who is truly brilliant in what he does. I had no idea what I really wanted to do with my hair but because of the rave reviews about Ali, I put my trust in him and the result was amazing. He took his time and worked those scissors like magic. Definitely worth the 2 1/2 hour trip from PA! Ali, I would follow you to any salon!

I am normally very picky about who cuts my hair, and usually find something that I dislike after a haircut. A friend of mine recommended that I go and see Ali for a new cut, but I never had time to do so. After a few months, I finally had the time and made an appointment with Ali. He gave me the best haircut I had in years. He was ready to hear what I wanted, then open to make suggestions...the result was amazing!!! I am very satisfied with the service and will go back again and again. It was definitely worth the price. If you go, you must see him.

Roy Teeluck Salon is a platinum salon with all the amenities you could ever want with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Tim Johnson, hands-down the best stylist, artist I've ever been to, is amazingly friendly. He sits down and really explores what you're looking for. Then, it's almost like ESP, he just gets it. He does exactly what you want better than you could ever have imagined it. He's an absolute sculptor, a gift, whose talent I feel it almost my duty to share with as many people as possible. It might be more difficult for me to get an appointment that way, but honestly, he deserves all the success in the world because talent like his is hard to find.

Needed to find a fabulous hairdresser I went to Gabriel and he was great. He listened to what I wanted, made suggestions and then gave me an amazing haircut! I was extremely pleased that all the terrific reviews I had read about him were ALL TRUE!! He really is experienced at what he does, and it shows.

I've been Sandra's client for 5 years. I came to her with hair trauma. My hair was too dark and unflattering with a purple hue. This color was not my choice and I needed someone to correct it. Sandra to the rescue! Sandra's warm personality, kindness and sense of humor, immediately put me at ease.
Through Sandra's expertise she was able to to correct my hair color. She achieved this without damaging my hair and created a beautiful shade of red. I get so many compliments and people think I am a natural red head. I feel really lucky to know Sandra and if you are looking for a colorist that will work with you and give you the best possible color, I strongly recommend Sandra

I moved to the city about 3 wks ago, and Roy Teeluck Salon is the first place I got my hair done. I have a lot of hair and Gabriel did a great job cutting it. Really good prices and you can just walk in! I highly suggest going, and definitely ask for Gabriel, it's worth it!

I recently visited Roy Teeluck where I was greeted by a smiling, friendly receptionist. The experience I had was not one to forget. The service was top notch. Russ did my color and it has never looked so good. I have had highlights for quite some time and always thought they looked good but after seeing the result of Russ' amazing work I will never let anyone else color my hair again!!! I followed the color with a cut and blowout by Gabriel--also amazing! I spent a few hours there and always felt as though the staff was attentive and very accommodating. I would highly recommend going and experiencing this salon you will not regret it!

I normally don't write reviews but I wanted to say how fabulous the Roy Teeluck Salon is! From the very welcoming front desk staff, the friendly coat check attendant, the assisant Johans (a super relaxing and soothing shampoo) to my unbelievably talented stylist Roanni, everything was classy and exactly the way a salon should be! I have short hair and believe you me, she knows what she is doing (she has a short hair herself). She's not only talented but has a very fun and spunky personality. My hair (a very cute pixie cut) has never looked better! I get compliments on it almost every single day. Trust me, Roanni is a true artist. And for color I had Abby give me a very rich auburn. I have never looked prettier and she is super sweet! I Couldn't be happier with my hair. I'm definitely sold on the RoyTeeluck Salon!

The Roy Teeluck is a true gem of a salon in the city! For color, Russ transformed me into a radiant and rich chocolate brunette. He really listens and he takes his time to make sure you are happy with the result. And then I had another great experience with my stylist Tim! He's so awesome! He also listened to me. We sat down before the cut to discuss what I really wanted and then I got it! My hair looks amazing! Also when you are there, make sure you have Duffy do your eyebrows, she tweezes (no wax) and she not only beautifies your brows, she relaxes you too. And top it off, make sure you get Edith to do a manicure, my nails have never looked lovelier. You will be happy at Roy Teeluck, it's a place where you feel welcome the moment you step in!

I have visited quite a few salons for color, in various parts of the country (NJ, NYC, Miami, Los Angeles) and I have never received such horrible color. First of all, bleach should not be the basis when highlighting hair. A true salon mixes color depending on each individual person - dying hair should not be a "one size fits all" deal. I read all of the great reviews and thought I would give this one a try...I should have ran when two people in front of me got their color screwed up by the girl who was supposed to be doing mine next! But I went ahead, and recieved WHITE stripes in my dark brown hair. She "toned" it to a dark orange. I spent hours and a good hunk of change to be close to tears. And then she tried to tell me "I should have brought in pictures to show what I wanted". Well Sandra, I can assure you that in other salons, I never brought in pictures and ended up walking out looking great. SKIP THIS SALON, AT LEAST FOR COLOR!!!!! Great salons know what to do with color - this salon paints bleach on and hopes for the best.

I vowed to write a review on city search since I went here based on the reviews I read. I went to Abby for color and Ali for a cut and blowdry. Abby was very friendly and super sweet. Like I knew, she suggested the balayge highlights and a single process on my roots to even out the color. The color looks really great albeit not too much different and definitely not 225 dollars worth great. I mean she lterally painted pieces of my hair with bleach, washed it out and then put in a root boost color and washed it out. My cut on the otherhand I LOVE. Ali was so friendly and he gave me a beautiful side bangs and fantastic layers that gave my hair the shape that it needed. It made me look like a new person. The blowdry was great and the cut and blowdry was 125 which I thought was well worth it. The reason why I think it was understaffed was because on my first visit youre supposed to get a free manicure and the manicurist was sweet but botched it with bad timing and started filing mt nails and didnt finish. I also thought they could have used another assistant to help with washing, beverage service and giving magazines. I mean when you're dropping 500 for a color and cut I really feel like you deserve the star treatment.

My suggestion, go elsewhere for a cheaper color. I'm not 100% buying this balayge thing, but go here for a cut and blowdry, its worth it.

Came in for highlights and a trim. The stylist Ali convinced me to try something new. He created the perfect bob for my face shape. Truely amazing stylist. Best haircut I've ever had. He was really nice and I'm glad I went w/ his suggestion. Michelle did my color- Suttle highlights that look completely natural. They look great (lots of compliments). They were both amazing. The staff was friendly. Offer great cappicinos. They say u get a free manicure your first visit, but they forgot to do mine. (no big deal) I would highly recommend Ali, and Michelle. I will be returning and will remain open minded w/ Ali.

So I decided to go from the typical long layers to a bob. For this jump I wanted an artist! And I got one!

The woman who answered the phone recommended Ali Ozel to be my stylist because he is the best at going from long to short.

And let me tell you Ali was amazing!!!! When he analyzed my hair at first he said, "You have such a beautiful face....and you can't even see it with all this hair. It's too much." He took his time and was so focused during the cut. He did things with razors and scissors, that they definitely don't do at my usual salon in Queens. He was definitely a true artist who I trusted from the beginning.

I sat down with Ali, he listened to what I wanted. The other people at the salon also treated me very well. I came out of the salon with exactly what I imagined, and would definitely go there again. Highly recommended. It may be a little high priced, but for the quality of the results, it is worth it.

Excellent, top of the line salon! Ask for Enzo, I won't let anyone else else touch my hair!!! He is so extremely talented! I have never been happier with my haircut. He is one of the best stylists in the city. Specializes in the dry haircut!!! Call and ask for Enzo if you want the best of the best!!!

Gabriel is absolutely the best! I found out about Gabriel through Citysearch and decided to give it a try, and let me tell you I don?t regret it. I?ve been to Gabriel for second hair cut now and I wouldn?t think of going to anyone else. He is very patient and knows his stuff. He really listens to what you want and talks to you throughout the haircut to make sure you get exactly what you want. You won?t be disappointed, call and ask for Gabriel today!!

From the really friendly desk staff to coat check girl who offered & brought me a selection of teas, to the yummy shampoo massage, and my artist stylist Ali Ozel who really took time and attention & detail to my haircut, I fully enjoyed this experience. I also love that they support Locks of Love, with 50% discounted cuts certain days and 100% free Wed. time range for 10" or more hair donations for this organization that serves kids with medical hair loss. All in all, I would definitely recommend this salon, and Ali, to others, and will delightedly return for my next hair styling!
