I have been going to Benoit for a while now and he is just amazing. I have so much confidence in his experience and style that I always let him do whatever he wants and I always come out looking amazing! He always remembers what I like and don't like and always takes the time to do it perfectly. He is very friendly, laidback and not at all snobby like some colorists can be. He gives me his full attention and I always feel special! He does amazing color and highlights, my hair always looks like I naturally have the perfect color! He literally can do everything. If you know what you want or want to give him the reins definately give him a try! You will not be sorry!

When you walk into this second floor salon you are greeted by the friendly staff. Your coat is taken from you and you are given a robe. Your stylist, who is Tim Johnson if you are lucky enough to get an appointment with him, gets you started. Tim makes you feel at home in their comfortable chairs and discusses what YOU want done with your hair. After the shampoo you are offered water, tea or CAPPACINO! Tim then cuts, colors, and styles your hair with such perfection you won't let anyone else touch it ever again.

On 11/07/2006 I praised Duffy for her great work on my brows. Four weeks ago I went for a shaping after letting my brows fill out for 6 weeks. When I got home and really had a chance to look @ my eyebrows I could not believe what was left of them. They were tweezed much to thin and their shape was "shapeless" I was horrified. I am still in the process of letting them "grow out" and I cannot let this happen again. Got to start my search for another brow specialist. You did great for awhile Duffy, but sorry we must part.

My first visit to a salon in New York after moving here from the other coast, and BENOIT at ROY TEELUCK made it a happy one. I am a bit of a diva then it comes to color and highlights, and Benoit worked with me talking through what I like, what I want to do over the next year w/ my hair, and how much maintainence I am willing to do before making his recommendation. The salon was comfortable, down-to-earth and friendly. I loved the "serie expert and power dose" treatment, and I will be purchasing more on my next trip. I highly recommend Benoit Poirier D'Ambreville, i hope i got his name right. :)

I have been getting my hair cut by Tim Johnson for years now (he formerly worked at Lappin Paoli in Tribeca). He recently moved to Roy Teeluck salon and I went there for the first time the other day. Tim was fabulous, as usual - he always listens to what I want, asks the right questions, and gives me a haircut I love. The salon was really great too - the people are so nice and acommodating (not snooty at all, unlike many salons), and the atmosphere there is wonderful. I highly recommend the salon - and especially Tim!

I have spent a lot of money throughout the years on hair, eyebrows, nails, etc in various high and low end places, and I have to say that when I left Roy Teeluck Salon the other day, I felt like I had truly been pampered and had experienced what a salon /spa experience was supposed to be about. I went to it to follow Tim Johnson who I had been going to for hair color at Lappin Paoli for years. Tim was the first person - after many NY colorists I had seen - who knew how to do blonde highlights. He is terrific and I hope has found his niche at this friendly, pampering place. The view is great too.

Love the Roy Teeluck Salon. Roy has been cutting my hair for years and he is incredibly talented. Benoit does the best color of anywhere I have gone in the city - the perfect blonde color. I've been to other colorists that are THE most recommended for blondes and there is no comparison - he is the best. Andre Davis has given me hair extensions which have made my very fine hair full and long. They're totally natural looking - no one ever knows it's not my hair. And don't forget about Duffy for eyebrows while you are there. Aside from being an absolute doll - she's a woman who loves her work and it shows! Highly recommend!!!!! It's the only place I go now.

I've been getting my hair cut by Natalie, one of their pros, for many years now. She's been with them since May and they're lucky to have landed her. Naturally, after all these years, my trust of Natalie's skill with a cool looking natural haircut achieved by intricate layering, has only increased. So she's a jewel for them, and the salon itself has a great, no-nonsense vibe. They give you tea, the music is cool, everyone's relaxed with an air of self-confidence that makes it very easy for anyone to get just the look they want. And that's it, glad to have sung their praises for all you hair lovers out there!

Benoit highlighted my hair and Andre cut it - and it's gorgeous!! My hair is very dark and very thick, and they were still able to do my hair perfectly! I highly recommend it! It was a bit pricey, but it was worth it!

I discovered Tim about two years ago, and I fell in love the minute I left his chair and looked in the mirror. I am obsessive about my hair, and Tim is the first person I've ever found who is as detail oriented as I demand. I've had the 20 dollar haircut in Chelsea, and I've had the 200 dollar Madison Ave cut. Tim is by far-and-away the best from any category. He has an amazing ability to see the person behind the hair, and he knows intuitively how to bring out the shape of your face through a precise (but never rigid!) cut. A great personality, a caring soul, (an amazing colorist!) Tim is the man I plan to have cutting my hair till I go to the grave.

I have been getting my hair cut by Nathalie for over 10 years, so needless to say I am very happy with her! She is a charming, wonderful artist who is able to make you look better -and younger!- with a simple cut. She knows hair, how it will fall and move on each individual, and she always finishes her cut on dry hair. She snips away for one hour and the result is amazing. Her haircuts are low maintenance and they look great. What's more, they grow out beautifully. I have had a lot of compliments from people and completely trust her. As a matter of fact, I never get the exact same haircut, it is more fun letting her surprise me!
I have recommended her to some of my friends, and they have also been hooked by the results.

Nathalie recently joined the Roy Teeluck salon. I like the space, it is cozy and relaxing, on the 2nd floor with huge windows that overlook 57th Street. Everyone working there is very friendly.

Mie Tomioka is the best hair cutter in town. She has been cutting my hair for almost seven years. She takes time and has a wonderful eye for what is right for me.

It's on 57th and Madison, yet friendly as a West Village lair. Most importantly, Tim and his scissors have landed here. Indeed, formerly of Lappin Paoli of Tribeca, Tim is brilliant with those scissors as well as in the dye lab! Plus he listens well and only enhances his clients' hair ideas. I have been seeing Tim for about seven years and speak from (my incredibly positive) experience!

If you have hair color problems you must see Lana, definitely. Shes's absolutely the best colorist in NYC. Not only on sigle process or highlights but also on redo's as well. She's just fantastic. I sincerely feel for miss "perfectionista" after reading her review. If only she known that the absolutely best was just a few feet away from her at that time. Don't settle for less, just get the best. Lana is (mine) your colorist.

I had a complimentary haircut by a new stylist named Mie and I highly recommend her to all who need a GREAT and lasting haircut. Mei listens to everything you ask her to do.She is not a scissor happy, egotistical stylist who knows better than the client does. She gave me such a good cut that I am still happy and it is now about 3-4 weeks after the fact. She kept the length as I asked and managed to unlayer all the short layers.
Also, when you walk in, even though it is located right across the street from the very upscale Four Seasons Hotel, you are treated like a guest in the home of a friend. Comfy seating, great hair washing chairs and just all around terrific service. Sometimes one can be intimidated by the snooty salons in that part of the city, but not here. Again, I highly recommend it.

To start, this is the best salon hands down on many levels. The moment you enter the salon you are greeted by the warmest smiles & service. Your worries and tension melt instantly. You are then taken to the back where you can change into your silk robe that protects your clothing. Meanwhile your stylist is told of your arrival. You are offered a beverage of your choice. My favorite stylist hands down is ANDRE. I've been a customer of his for years, and followed him to the Roy Teeluck salon. The salon's relaxing style, combined with Andre's expertise in hair, extensions, etc. is something not to be missed!!! You must see him for a consultation. He can also assess the health of your hair, which is very important, he will treat your hair, style it, extend it, and his hair cuts are to die for. How he transforms your hair with his cuts still amazes me to this day, with or without extensions you will have the best cut around. Benoit is the man who made me LOVE to get my color! Everytime i leave this salon, i always feel so good. After so many bad colors, i started to believe there was no hope until i met the ever so wonderfully talented Mr. Poirier D'ambremille! Now i can walk in and have complete trust that when i leave, my hair will feel and look FABULOUS! I have gotten so many people asking me all over the city where i get my hair done. I have been getting my hair colored, and highlights from BENOIT for about 2 years. People stop me in the elevators, the bus, doctors office, on the street, and ask me who does my hair. I should be his personal public relations representive. I change my clothes everyday, but I cann't change my hair everyday. I do not need to. He does a fabulous job of helping me look very contempary, and feel good about my image. I am a financial consultant, and I need to represent myself as very confident. Thanks to BENOIT I meet that need. He's a skilled professional. He just has a great way of seeing into my style, and making it fit. My booker at Ford models has always raved about Andre Davis, and I finally made an appointment. He is a weave master! My hair is definately suffering from daily styling, and he was able to "put my own hair away" for a while and gave me beautiful tresses. It's amazing--you can not see any separation in the hair like you do on so many women, or any evidence that it is not my own. He does such careful, expert work, and his styling is just as perfect--I wish I could take him with me to every job! I'm getting married in May and I've already booked him!

Nathalie Herve loves to cut hair. She is a perfectionist who spends a full hour with each client to make sure the cut works from every angle. Her cuts are so good that if you don't have timne at home, to blowdry your hair, you can just go out with a wet head and know when your hair dries on its own you will still be more than presentable.

The colorists are also outstanding, especially Benoit. He looks at your skin and eye color and knows exactly what tones will work best for you. He is originally from France and has trained all over Europe to perfect his techniques.

Everone who works there is warm and friendly, and they also make great cappuccino.

Benoit is an amazing colorist and he does the best color! . He fixed my problem hair color that I was doing at home into the most beautiful blonde! I will never do my hair at home or go to any other master colorist other than Benoit....he's the best and is also the sweetest person ever! I've been coming here for 1 year now and its AWESOME! I recommend all my friends to come here. Its definately a bargain for what your getting: trained staff, friendly atmosphere and if your worried about sales pressures, the hair stylists will tell you what products they put in your hair and in the end ask you if you need anything else and thats it. The hair color and highlights by Benoit are great, he put a lot of time into making it good. He gets booked up fast, so call atleast 2 weeks ahead of time to get the date and time you want.

Have you ever seen those shampoo commercials with those girls that have that long silky thick hair... Well now I'm one of those girls. I was a little unsure at first but they put me at ease and even though I did it for my wedding, I don't think my husband wants me to ever take them out. I have been going to ROY TEELUCK SALON on a regular basis for about 1 year and have great experiences to rave about! First off, I am particular about my hairtranslation hard to please in a hair salon. I have a SMOOTHER put in my hair annually, and I have Color and cuts in between. The best is that I am always complimented on My natural color. One great thing about Benoit is that he believes in training and keeping up with the latest technology. He travels globally to keep abreast of all the latest trends, attending fashion shows. I love that my hair is in such great condition even after coloring and straighenting it. Also, there are several experienced stylist in varying price ranges to choose from. its great to be able to just get a style for the weekend at a reasonable price. Maybe 10 years ago I had the good luck to find the perfect men's haircutter in Nathalie Herve, and I've followed her ever since through a handful of salons to the best one yet, Roy Teeluck. Nathalie, tres francaise, takes a full hour and gets it perfect every time, just the way I want it cut. Professional, very likeable, and highly skilled... what else can you want? Neither cheap nor fast, just perfect. The salon, also professional but without the chaos, noise, and smell of some salons, makes the perfect setting for the jewel that is Nathalie! I had really messed my hair up, on a Saturday, of all times! I went to ROY TEELUCK SALON, they were all so busy with clients, but one of the desk person came to me immediately and offered assistance, he asked me if I could wait a few minutes, he would get my situation handled, and not to worry! And that they did...I have never been happier with my hair highlights done by BENOIT, but more important than my hair, was the fact that they took time for me! To experience Mie's hair styling artistry is well worth it. She's THE hair sculptor and much, much more. From the minute I walked into the salon, I felt right at home. The staff is congenial and the energy of the salon made me feel at ease. Kudos to Roland and Roy for understanding your client's busy schedules. Mie met me right away and sat me down to chat first before starting any work on my hair. She has the magic wand of styling, especially with my long locks. As a voiceover and visual artist, she listened to my requests for a look that works both on and off camera. Amazing! What a transformation. I have been looking for a place for a long time, I finally ended up at Roy Teeluck salon. The staff is curteous and caring, I feel like home when I get there. My hair colorist is Benoit, I am very happy with the color he did on my hair. He knows what he is doing. He follows the trend and changes my color according to that and he is so much fun. Roy is a great artist and he is the coolest guy.
I highly reccomend the salon for everybody. For color and cut. Last but not the least they make the best blowdry in town.

I have been to ROY TEELUCK SALON before, and was very pleased, but I always have kept my eyes and hair avil. for somthing new. They hired this new colorist 1 yr ago that I have heard about from some friends. His Name is BENOIT. I was able to get in with him, even thoe he was running a little late for my appointment the expierence was the best I have ever had. He said that he used to work midtown at few upscale salon . Well there loss. He did a wonderful new color on me and hightlights. He is ver maticulous so be prepared to sit for a while. He seemed to have made friends there pretty fast and the salon seems a bit more alive with him in there. Thank you

I found roy teeluck salon on Citysearch and thought I'd give it a try since the ratings were so good. I'm so glad I did. Benoit took the time to make me feel comfortable and ask me questions - and I ended up with a color that look great and suit me and my lifestyle. Even though I ended up buying all the products to keep the color look fresh , I never felt pressured to do so. The atomosphere is easy-going ,posh and trendy and everyone is friendly. I went to roy teeluck as a recomendation from a friend. The first time I came in, i wanted color. andre had just finished doing hair extensions on the client ahead of me and they looked fabulous. I told him i had been thinking about getting them for a long time, but didn't know if they would look good on me. He and benoit were so informative, even on the downfalls and the benefits. Benoit colored my hair as planned, and i told andre i would think about the extensions. A week later i came in and got them done and couldn't be more thankful. They look great, and didn't take forever.Andre was so friendly, by the end of my experience, i felt like we were andre ,benoit and i the best friends!!!!!!!

Nathalie has been cutting my hair for years and I don't know what I would do without her. When I lived in Paris, I used to fly back to NYC to get my hair cut by Nathalie because I couldn't find anyone who could do it as well as she could. My hair is curly and when it gets cut it wants to look like it just got cut, Nathalie makes it look like it always looks good. It looks natural and it suits me perfectly. I would rather let my hair grow long than let anyone else cut it for me. Nathalie is an artist and she will make you look perfect. Roy Teeluck Salon has acquired a gem.

I have been to dozens of stylists over the years -- most of the time, after the second or third color, they don't seem to get it anymore or really care. Benoit has been a godsend. Everytime I am there he get gets it right. If I am bringing someone, he will tell me to sit down and he will just touch things up gratis. Benoit is the best

Benoit is a great colorist who truly is an artist. He performed a makeover on a beautiful young girl. He deftly erased 3" of dull regrowth into a butterscotch blond with ribbons of butter blond. With each swipe of his brush the hair came alive right in front of everyones eyes. It truly was magazine worthy. Mr. Benoit has been featured in many fashion magazines. I'm excited for him to do my hair next week. Madison avenue chic meets funky downtown.

I've been seeing Benoit for over a year and I just found out about CitySearch, I would have written him a review MONTHS AGO had I known I could, since I will NEVER be going to get my hair done by ANYONE ELSE! For starters, EVERYONE in the salon is friendly and fun and the could-be-regular or even scary hair experience has become fun and something I look forward to. Benoit is the best. He always listens, he's talented and he knows what he is doing more than any other stylist I had in the past. He is very creative and loves to enjoy what he is doing and so change is always welcomed. His talent for fashion and current trends is impeccable and more than anything, he makes sure that whatever color he gives you fits your being as well as fits your lifestyle. You can really feel he understands YOU and doesn't just color your hair automatically. I don't spend too much time on my hair and he knows it as he is giving me color that's low matanence to manage. His tips will surprise you and are extremely easy to follow... I can't ask for anything more. What can I say... it's very refreshing to walk into a hair salon and feel no cattiness, no attitude. At Roy Teeluck's, you can see that all the team get along with each other, what a concept!!! They actually enjoy working there and love each other. I always make sure to make my appointment before a dinner date or an event or a night out because I already know Benoit will make me look so great, I always walk out of there in a good mood, full of confidence and, yes, I always get compliments, that hasn't failed yet. I travel over 500 miles to get my haircut from Dora. I have searched for years for a great haircut and now that I have found this salon and Dora, I am in LOVE!! The shop is neat. Staff attentive-ok, also a bit impressed with themselves, but they are talented! Cost might seem expensive, but with a GREAT haircut, you don't need one very often.
