we ordered expensive marine plywood cabinets only to realize weeks after the 8 month late delivery, that
they are a cheap veener over chip board. of course marine plywood is very expensive. the samples were nice though!

it would take me hours to tell this story, it had so much brian drama, right down to insulting my wife, and stealing my money and leaving me kitchenless for longer than we knew possible.

he's a bastard psychopath. avoid garfield and brian at all costs.

It seems that everyone here has had a bad experience with Brian. My husband and I ordered a bathroom vanity from him and paid upfront. It was meant to be delivered and installed in mid-December but we are always chasing Brian to set up an appointment.

Every appointment we have had has been postponed because either the bathroom wasn't delivered yet to his showroom or because the worker wasn't available.

Their office is almost always closed except for a few hours here and there.

Are they going out of business or is this normal behaviour?

How did everyone get their work done by them? What can we do to get him to do install the bathroom?

Thanks.

I placed an order with Brian for a vanity and medicine cabinet on August 29, 2008! He initially told me that they would be ready in two weeks. I waited about a month before I started calling him because I had not heard anything about my order. For the next several months he called me repeatedly to set up ??delivery dates? but never delivered the merchandise. His partner inadvertently told me one day that they didn??t even have the merchandise yet. In other words, Brian had been lying to me for months. The vanity was finally delivered on January 6, 2009 after giving me a small rebate on the price (which I had paid up front). I thought the medicine cabinet couldn??t be far behind. I WAS WRONG. As of November 5, 2009, I STILL HAVEN??T RECEIVED THE MEDICINE CABINET even though Brian calls me every week to set up the delivery. Brian told me several months ago that he would discount the price of the cabinet but the credit has yet to show up on my credit card even though I have brought this to his attention several times. Brian is a pathological liar. He seldom returns calls. This business should be avoided at all costs. The other negative reviews are absolutely correct. This place is truly a nightmare.

UPDATE: Brian called me two weeks ago (early December now) to tell me that his delivery driver had picked up my cabinet and was on his way to my house. I was skeptical because I had received dozens of calls like this in the past. Sure enough, there was no delivery and no telephone call to tell me why. I went to the store to confront Brian about this (because when you call him on the phone he merely says "I'll get back to you"). I met another disgruntled customer at the store who was also complaining about merchandise that wasn't delivered. I told the other customer that I had been waiting for a delivery since August, 2008. The customer told me that he was "in the same boat". Brian tried to get rid of the customer by telling him that his merchandise would be delivered that day (boy have I heard that one before). The customer was so irate that he insisted on waiting in the store "all day" until the merchandise was delivered. Brian is the only person working in the office right now. It seems that they are going out of business and the others have been let go. If you must do business with him, here are some suggestions: (1) never make full payment in advance, (2) insert a guaranteed delivery date in the contract so you have an out, and (3) keep a record of your dealings with Brian and confirm all discussions in writing. Brian talks a good game but if they go out of business you will probably lose all of your money.

We are building owners and have done many kitchens, dealt with countless stores, and never have we had such a terrible experience. In fact, we ordered from them FIVE kitchens, most on March 5, 2009. The owner of this shi***ole establishment, Brian, told us that he got stuck with many kitchens a builder purchased from him but ran out of money, so he'll give it us at a discount. The price seemed fair. Later, it turned out this story was a complete lie. From that moment, a FIVE MONTH NIGHTMARE ensued. Brian constantly says, "I can't help myself". And he's right - he can't help himself from leading you on, lying to you with a straight face, giving you the runaround for months after months after months, after you paid him (upfront, of course - he looks trustworthy, you'd never even fathom he can be such a scum/do*che bag), using guilt, begging, promising you day and and day out that you'll get it "this afternoon", "tomorrow morning", "this coming Tuesday".. delivering you the wrong items, partial kitchens, missing or broken parts (thus requiring you to run after him several additional months to get them, and again, the same stories all over again, the same lines, same lies...), blaming everyone under the sun except for himself, telling you tales of woe about this and that manufacturer that went out of business and stiffed him with 60K (the amounts vary, depending on the day - he just can't recall all his lies), promising you it never happened before, AND SO ON AND SO FORTH. After this SHEER NIGHTMARE, he managed to deliver 3 out of the 5 kitchens. After THIS FIVE MONTH NIGHTMARE, we finally canceled the final two apartments. He credited our card on one, and gave us a check for the other, asking us to wait 5 days to deposit. We hope it won't bounce. He still hasn't delivered to us one important piece, in one kitchen. We truly regret not having done our homework and researched him beforehand. The least we can do is to warn everyone else: We strongly urge you to STAY AWAY FROM "BROOKLYN KITCHENS & BATH". You WILL regret the day you place an order with them. We also urge you to read all the other negative reviews on various sites (the scant few positive ones can't be true). They are all spot on. Every single thing they describe, happened to us too. THIS HAS BEEN THE WORSE EXPERIENCE WE EVER HAD, EVER. Shoppers, beware!!!!
UPDATE 9/25/09. After posting this review, Brian called me, begging that I remove it. He promised me the world, to get the cabinets we ordered at a fraction of the price, having his store install etc. etc. After over a month of nightmare, he finally delivered - THE WRONG KITCHEN. The cabinets were supposed to be 42" high, and he delivered 36" high, asking me if I "could live with it". Some base cabinets were wrong, had missing drawers, missing glass, and more. I turned him down, he promised to replace it, and to this day, he hasn't. He also hasn't delivered that one important piece mentioned above, and this is in spite of daily calls, some times 5-6 calls per day, and his constant promises that his worker will come "Monday" and finish the job. It will soon be SEVEN MONTHS, and he still can't get his act together.

Brian is crazy, I was waiting for a bathtub and the excuses became more and more bizarre. Don't do it. Pay extra and get out of there. I think they have good intentions but something is seriously wrong there. I am not sure what it is. He would tell us all these things about the bathtub, it was here , then there, then lost, then it arrived (when I walked into the shop) and it was in the warehouse, they would try to get it tomorrow, the next day he phones, they can't deliver the warehouse is closed as for the religious holiday (sabbath). Doesn't he know that if its his warehouse? it went on and on. Just go somewhere else where they can give you an honest answer

Run from this guy. He will use any tactic, including calling you daily and trying to guilt you into buying from him. It seems very busy when you are in there because so many people are calling and trying to get him to do what he is supposed to do after he has your money. Stay away.

Oh man. What a racket. This guy pushes the cabinets down your throat, making up any lie he has to, using guilt and anything obnoxious you can imagine. I didn't see the other reviews (wish I had) and wasted lots of time. In the end, I just decided to go with my gut and steer clear of him. Had to make it very clear never to call me again. Don't trust anything he says. Don't buy anything. Run, quick like a bunny in the other direction.

we made a huge mistake using Brooklyn kitchens. They had a decent price for the kitchen supplies we needed. Despite promises to the contrary, it took them a week to come and measure. Then they got it wrong, and had to come and measure again (another delay). They promised the materials would be in in a few days. It too over a week. They were apologetic about the delays so said they'd prepare the materials quickly. But they didn't. Despite calling every day, sldespite them promising to deliver the next day, they miserably failed. Further delays, ensued. And still, we were living within a kitchen.

I don't think its malicious, they are just plain incompetent. If you want yr kitchen before the next iceage, never shop here.

This guy makes his money off of first-time customers. Unfortunately, after the fact, our contractor told us that he buys knock offs and sells them as real products with the original product name. He sold us the wrong bathtub size and make. When we complained, he replaced it with cracked bathtub. Not to be trusted.
