Today I was served PINK chicken at Maui Tacos. The staff was extremely rude and condescending and said I needed to wait 10 minutes for the manager. After 30 minutes I gave up and left. They refused to refund me and didn't even bother to offer another plate. I will never be returning here again. BEWARE THE PINK(undercooked) CHICKEN!
Even if the chicken had not been undercooked it was completely unseasoned. They deserve NO stars for disgusting food and disgusting service.

the atmosphere is nice and the food is decent. There's a salsa bar with an array of choices and a nice bar with strong drinks. what more could you ask for?

Pros: ambience, salsa bar, free drink w. purchase of any two tacos

Cons: slow service

I don't know what the people below are talking about. This is fine for those who want something quick and inexpensive...and maui tacos is quick and inexpensive.

Pros: quick and cheap

Cons: nothing- get what you pay for

It's a Hawiian-Mexican restaurant ran by Eastern Europeans. Absolutely awful. This makes me question how Citysearch adds up stars - how the hell does it have 3.5 stars??

Upon entering this poorly lit, crowded, cafeteria-style establishment, I ordered 4 soft tacos-2 vegetarian and 2 shrimp from their lunch menu. I Must say that there was HORRENDOUS service-you are left milling about waiting for your food. Do I wait on this line? Where are the lids for the salsa? Why are the soda lids on 2 sides of the filthy salsa/condiments bar? I brought my lunch back to my office. Upon opening the food it was just a disaster-it looked like a crime scene. I looked for the "shrimp" and found something that smelled like canned fish smeared on the damp soggy taco. I have eaten authentic tacos in Mexico that were amazing-this placed should be condemned. When I called to complain the manager said we get rave reviews-from the local emergency rooms I would gather. I threw my lunch in the garbage and ate the stale chips. This is awful-a tourist trap and breeding ground for bauchalism. I had eaten here the previous summer (ordering the exact same things) and the food was decent-when I told the manager that she said, "We haven't changed a damn thing!" Avoid like the plague. Unless you want a taco induced colonic. The place is always packed-not sure how many survice the week after ingesting this garbage. Disgusting

If you want to spend the rest of your day in the toilet I would recommend you go here. The food was unbearable. I only managed to eat one taco. My boyfriend was brave enough to eat all the food. The result of his decision was that he spent the entire rest of the day in the bathroom while I only spent a couple of hours. The service is terrible and the place itself looks dirty. I will never ever go back, well only if I would like to commit suicide in the most painful fashion.

I really would not recommend this place to anybody.... at all. Not even to someone I didn't like all that much... like the rude staff that works there for example... I wouldn't even recommend they eat there because, honestly, who likes to have a bad dinning experience?

After a really confusining ordering process (do you order at the counter or with the waitress that is ignoring you?) I ended up getting completely ripped off at there alledged "Happy hour" . The happy hour is supposedly all beers, 2 for 6 dollars.. so with my dinner I ordered a beer and two greasy tacos with old lettuce on them.

After finishing my food (and before the indigestion kicked in) I went back to the counter and asked for my second beverage, which at the time, they gladly gave me. As I was finishing, the waitress with out a word of explaination, rudely places a bill of 4.25 in front of me and wanders off. After asking what this is about, they explain that since..I didn't specifically order the TWO BEERs at the same time, I had to pay full ammount for both...

And even though my friend went up the same time I did for his second beer, the only difference was he asked specifically for the happy hour, EVEN though it says on the sign ALL beers are 2 for 6. So now, my mistake, right? I apologize and ask if they can readjust the bill. NOPE. Not even the slightest ammount of respect, understanding, or even smallest attempt to try to rectify the situation and make a customer happy.
What a cheap, lame, sneaky poodini, and nasty way to make a buck! Honestly, if their attitudes were even remotely pleasant I would have just payed the additional 2 dollars and 50 cents with out any complaints.. But no they didn't care in the slightest, so instead of making myself worked up I paid and left feeling unhappy and cheated.

So to wrap this up, if you want to support a chain that would ruin a happy hour for you and probably kills small puppies in the process, eat Maui.

This mexican food spot is always busy. There is a lot of seating, you order and then sit down, no waiter service. They have a very inexpensive menu and the food tastes great. I love the copndiments bar where you can get your jalepenos, cilantro and fresh limes. I like this place because you get your food quickly and the staff is friendly.

I am from CA where good mexican food restaurants are a dime a dozen. I have been disapointed with NY mexican food selection( Tex-mex eww)

This palce is quaky but fun. The food is AWESOME. sometimes I find myself going 2x a week. If you get a burrito get it wet! you will not regret it!!!!!

I used to go there every week for lunch when I was studying at the CUNY grad center, and after I introduced my girlfriend to it, we've been going there once a week whenever we're in the city. The food is very filling, rare for a place with such affordable prices. I personally love all the different kinds of salsa, and make it a point to use all of them every time I'm there. The service is usually prompt. My only complaint is that it gets cold there in the winter.
