Ghenet Restaurant

This friendly Ethiopian restaurant has to be my favorite. They provide silverware if desired (although this is not customary with Ethiopian cuisine) and offer some less spicy dishes but I prefer it spicy and with my hands. The food is eaten with a spongy, pancake-like bread called injera, which is used to wrap around everything and finally soak up the hot berbere sauce. Doro-wot is a popular dish of chicken marinated in berbere and served tender and spicy. Absolutely amazing and if you have never tried Ethiopian food this is the place to go. They will take care of you.

Ghenet serves some of the most amazing food I've ever tasted in my life. People are skeptical when I mention Ethiopian food, but after they've tasted it, they're hooked. The only problem with Ghenet is the service can be incredibly slow.

Ghenet is a spectacular restaurant. It has a wonderful atmosphere and the food is to die for. If you drink, try the tej (honey wine). And then try the misir wett (lentils in spicy sauce) and the bean dishes (shiro wett and shiro alecha). Delicious!
