The place used to be great, but things have changed for the worse. Their Vegetable Panini became dry and undercooked and the secret sauce that made it great last time is gone. Instead, they now have an unadvertised policy of charging for regular coffee refills (yes - that's $2.50 every time they top up your coffee cup from the pot) and automatically adding an 18% service charge to your bill (there were only two of us at the table). When we complained to the manager, she told us it's always been this way (no - it has not!) and we should just pay up. With this new attitude, you're likely to have a better experience elsewhere.

Pros: Unlimited lunchtime mimosas for $5

Cons: Mediocre food, bad service, lousy attitude, hidden charges

Artepasta has tasty food at excellent prices. The waitstaff is courteous & attentive. I also like the West Village location.

Pros: Italian Food, comfortable atmosphere

While the setting of this place is great: three gallery dining rooms, a great bar, and fun sidewalk seating, the food, in my opinion is not that great. Pastaa are kind of bland, and for the money, the portions are kind of small. There are so many other great Italian places in the area (West Village) it just doesn't seem worth it.

The service is neither good nor bad, it's just nonexistent. They take your order and bring your food in a timely enough fashion, but then you're on your own until check time. You can't get a refill of water, or ask for pepper and strangely enough they only had artificial sweeteners for our coffee (we asked). The Italian food is very mediocre (think your average home cook who's not very good, but passable to eat). I had a seafood tagliatelle and the pasta was all stuck together although the seafood part was okay.

i live half a block away and thought i'd give it a shot and order take-out...very sorry i did. oily bread, weak noodles, runny sauce, tiny tiny portions. the meatballs were good, but i was shocked the blasted meal cost $17.27!!! i had to make myself a sandwich afterwards to fill up. in another 10 years i'll probably be the type to bring my food back and ask for a refund, but for now i'll bend over and deal with it by writing this review. grrr!

Went there for a nice pasta lunch. They were not crowded -- maybe 15 people in the entire restaurant. I waited over 45 minutes for a simple pasta. I asked the waiter several times for the check and he never returned -- finally apologized and offered me the pasta in a bag "to go".

I will not be back. Truly awful.

Cute little place, with great outside seating. The prices are unbeleavable! The food is good and it's unlimited champagne or mimosa for 90 minutes more than enough time. The servers constantly refill your glass without having to ask. Brunch is served until 4pm. Will definitely do brunch at ArtePasta again.

I love a good Pasta Bolognese and this place has a great sauce with huge portions. It may still be cold, but this place has a heated outdoor cafe and we had a great meal outside last night. Everyone in my party loved the food and the martinis were great. The tiramisu is a good choice for dessert. I will be back!

I went here for a Sunday night dinner. We walked in and were ignored until I went up to a waiter and asked to be seated. The food was so average it reminded me of a frozen dinner. The only good thing was they had a $1 sangria special. Otherwise I would say don?t waste your money or time.

i went there with a party of 5 for new years eve dinner around 830 and they gave us the worst service ever. the restaurant was understaffed so the hostess took our order and barely gave us any attention afterwards. the appetizers took about 20 mins. After the main dishes, they never gave us any attention until I walked up to the servers asking for a dessert menu since the food wasn't fulling. The server asked us where was our server and i said i never had one. When we got our check, they had the nerve to charge us 20% tip and we had to ask them to take it off since we didn't get any service at all!

I reserved the front room at this "cute" restaurant for my best friend's bridal shower. Even though I confirmed the reservation THREE times (once in person), when I arrived that day, there was no room reserved. After scrambling for 20 minutes and moving tables around, we managed to cram the 25 guests around ONE table! The service was horrendous, the food was COLD and my friend and I had to wait and bus the table.

Stay away, don't torture yourself.

Good quality food. Good Price. Get the price fixed menu if you go for early dinner. I recommend Lunch as dinner can get loud and crowded.

This is the place my friends and I always choose when we are reuniting for a girls night out. The prices are so reasonable - you can eat and drink wine for hours - when you get the bill you are pleasantly surprised. The food is great and the restaurant is very cute with big picture windows. Try to get their for the prix fixe. It is totally worth it.

Saw that they had unlimited mimosas with their Sunday brunch, so my friend and I decided to try out the place. I ordered a cheeseburger, the food was good, but the service was RIDICULOUS. We could not get our waiter to refill any of our drinks (so much for the unlimited mimosas; we were lucky we even had one); he did not come by to see how we were doing; we wanted ketchup, but since he was no where to be found, we had to borrow it from the patrons at the next table. I wanted another drink, but after waiting for SO LONG, I was frustrated, and annoyed. I just wanted the check so we could leave. But he still took FOREVER to get us our check, so we just sat there, waiting and waiting. Service was SO POOR, I didn't even feel bad for leaving him a small tip. NEVER GOING BACK unless they improve the service...and as we left, we saw that the restaurant next door also offered unlimited mimosas...too bad I didn't see it earlier.

This is absolutely the best place in NYC to have Sunday brunch. My friends and I eat here every chance we get. All you can drink Mimosa's and Champagne for $12.95??? That's unheard of in NYC, but not at Artepasta. The food is spectacular and the waiters are phenomenal, so is the service.

I waited for a table for an hour both times after having a reservation. The food took very long to come out and it was difficult to grab the attention of our server on many occasions. There was on instance where our server came to our table 45 minutes after she took our order stating that she long the sheet she wrote the order on. I could be wrong but wouldn't you realize that right away, or shortly after when trying to put the order in to the kitchen in the first place? She offered to discount the bill due to the mistake but when the bill came out there was no discount and felt very uncomfortable readdressing the offer. I can not say this is a consistent problem so I still recommend the rest. Hopefully my next experience will be more pleasant.

Once again I went back to Artepasta for their free-flowing Champagne Brunch, the only of its type in town, with awesome food, at great prices, and very friendly service. They're very accomodating to large groups, and the eggs benedict and Steak & Eggs are yummmy!!!

Not only is the food delicious and fresh, Artepasta has the friendliest service I have encountered in NYC. The homemade pasta was perfect in a pomodoro sauce (made to order for me) and the caesar salad was good. Three-course dinner with wine, tax and tip was $36. Prett amazing.

Simply stated: Large group of friends, inexpensive menu, good food, warm and pleasant atmosphere equals a great time for everyone! Though we normally don't venture into the west village, this place was a great find. It's good for large groups or just two people; its cozy and unpretentious. They advertise a prix fixe from 4pm-7pm, though the regular menu has great selections too. Everything was well made and the portions are filling. Recommended: calimari appetizer or any pasta dish. Attention: might take you a second to realize which is actually their real entrance, cuz there are other 'doors' but they dont open.

Sure they are! Yummy West Village italian eatery on the famed Greenwich Ave. strip. Dimly lit by candlelight, painted walls, and wooden floors make this a cozy dining experience and romantic date spot. We started with some cornmeal crusted calamari and a $20 bottle of Australian chardonay; both were quite nice. I had smoked mozzarella ravioli which was too smoky for my taste, but the sauce was delicious. My date enjoyed the special pasta; farfalle with sausage and brocoli rabe. Lemon sorbet and hazelnut gelato - both excellent - finished off our meal. The price was very appropriate and overall we had a great time.

If this isn't the best deal in the Village- if not the city, I don't know what is- the dinner and lunch specials are great (three courses for under 7 and under 15 respectively) and the brunch deal is over the top- great food- enhanced by unlimited mimosas! And I mean unlimited- they make it a point to keep your glass full. Service is always great. The Italian cuisine is not gourmet but the great location, indoor atmosphere and outdoor sidewalk seating make this place a sure thing.

The lunch special is a good deal, and usually served fairly quickly. It includes soup or salad, choice of a good selection of entrees, and coffee or tea. However, should you want iced tea rather than hot tea, they will charge you extra. Apparently their ice supplier is very expensive. The pastas are very good, however, and the ambience is nice, though it can get noisy.
