Transit Valley Animal Hospital has been our vet since we moved to Clarence Ctr more than 16 years ago. We have always received good service and care for our dogs and cats. One dog has required surgery for bladder stones and that went well. I recommend this vet.

I have seen Dr Budik from both sides; as a co worker (decades ago) and more recently as a client.
Five years ago my 8 year old dog tore her cranial cruciate ligament (ACL) chasing a fox. We live in Philly and it was February. Although there are many qualified veterinarians here, I chose to drive north to see Lou.
Dr B's compassion for animals and knowledge and ability to communicate with clients has not changed. I observed his expert surgical abilities and was amazed at the talent and caring nature of his technologists as well.
Ayla recovered in a month and today celebrates a happy & healthy 14th birthday.
I cannot recommend Transit Valley enough. I f you love your pet and want the best for them, visit the phenomenal staff on Transit Rd.

Dr. Budik is the most caring vet I've ever met. Not only cares the most for your pet, but also the Client. I went to him on a referral from my neighbor and had my 20 year old kitty who was terribly sick had to be put down. When I left I felt like I almost had to console him cause he was so concerned for me! I was so sorry to lose my old kitty baby,... I did what I could for her and knew the end was near,... she was so sick. He helped alot by telling me why I had to choose to think of her needs over my own in letting her go and not letting her suffer any longer. 20 years was a long time to let go. WE loved her so.

Dr. Budik and his staff are outstanding. We are pleased to have him care for our puppy. Excellent service and knowledge. I was reassured when I learned that our pediatrician of 19 years trusts her pets to Dr. Budik. He is a wonderful vet!

Being new to the area, I had high hopes for my dogs office visit after reading the reviews for this animal hospital. I scheduled an appointment for my Huskey and brought with me a large file of paperwork, which contained all my dogs records since birth. I checked in at the front and gave the nurse my dogs file. I was then taken to an exam room with my dog. The doctor then came in and asked me which vaccine my dog needed. I explained that my records were with the nurse, and he should check with her. He then called me "clueless" and left. I was just disgusted at his behavior. I will say that he did treat my dog with more respect that he treated me, but I found his behavior toward me offensive.

Also, it is worth noting that in the lobby there is a large caged area containing several cats that are homeless. If you have a dog, beware! My dog went crazy with those cats. It really is not a good idea to have them out there like that.

In the meanwhile, I will be looking for another vet.

This is a very good vet who really cares about the animals brought in and goes the extra mile to insure the health of your animals. Some places charge you an arm and a leg, but the prices were very fair compared to experiences Ive had in the past. Of course the healthy of my animal is my primary concern but these reasonable prices are nice.

I was referred to Dr. Budik when my (now ex-) wife and I got a dog from the SPCA. He took care of our dog's spaying, and gave her a general checkup. Our initial impression was that of a consummate professional, who cares as much about his patients as their owners (or staff, if you're a cat person :-) ) do. This impression never changed. Dr. Budik provided years of excellent care for three dogs, including two who suffered through a pretty mysterious viral infection that we nearly lost them to. His compassion and concern were very comforting. As an added side benefit, I don't know if these are still offered, but a couple of his assistants at one time taught a series of "puppy school" classes on-site on Monday evenings that were the best animal-behavior classes I'd ever been to -- they charged by the animal, not by the person, and encouraged the attendance of the whole family. My only reason for no longer using his services is a lack of transportation to get me to his somewhat rural location, but if you're in the area or can get there, he's highly recommended!

PROS: personal service, unwillingness to give up, "puppy school"
CONS: location is a bit off the beaten path
