Not for the faint-hearted. This is serious language instruction but you will have a much better accent and preparation than you will get anyplace else in New York.

Pros: the quality of the teachers

Cons: time-intensive

This museum is rather stuffy and dry, and is only open for special events. Even though the "feel" of it isn't too warm and inviting, they do have some neat Chinese artifacts. It ranges from music, to beautiful calligraphy on wall cloths, statues of wise Chinese men, and gives you insight into their culture, religion, and lifestyle. I suppose I'd recommend it if there was an exhibit of personal interest to you, but this museum is too formal to really enjoy.
