Rainbow Shores Hotel

This place is very dirty the bedding was even dirty! We only stayed 1 night cause we had no choice, it was Salmon season and everything was booked. The restaurant is over priced and the food was horrible!! Not to mention that was dirty too! I'm not sure how it even passed a health inspection!! We asked for a refund for Sat. cause there was no way we were staying there another night and they refused to give us one. Then we woke Sat. morning we no electric or water. we had no electric for 3 hrs. and it was 33 degrees and very windy! It is right on the lake and has a beautiful view of the lake but there is NO access to the lake the stairs going to the lake say danger do not use!! We found another place to stay for Sat. thankfully. We had no choice but to leave they we out of water for 10 hrs. and still refused to give us a refund!! When we got home I checked our credit statement to find that they charged us a $50.00 deposit plus the 2 nights. We called and asked why they took money out without our permission and the OWNER LINDA HOLSTEAD told us that she didn't do that.We told her that we have proof and we are turning her into the better business bureau she then told us she would call us tomorrow and give us a full refund. We will see if that really happens. Oh if you do stay at the Rainbow Shores motel there is no way to get a hold of any one if there is a problem all you get is the machine. That place is for sale and hopefully someone buys it and renovates the whole thing and makes a nice place out of it. The only thing that place has going for it is the view of the lake.

I strongly recommend not staying at this motel if you are looking for a clean sanitary place for you and your family. My husband and I were looking so forward to taking our four year old son to this motel for our vacation. We thought the pictures on the website looked great. When we arrived we were disgusted by the atmosphere. First, the kitchen refrigerator was covered in rust and mold inside and this is not an exaggeration, there was a bottle of tequilla on the kitchen shelf and the beach was completely covered in rocks not to mention some of the other unsanitary areas. Though some may not have an issue with this, we found it repulsive and unexceptable. We immediately got a refund and found a clean healthy motel to stay in.

Rainbow Shores Restaurant & Motel located on the Eastern shores of Lake Ontario offers fine dinning in a relaxed atmosphere with beautiful views no matter the season. Their menu offers something for everyone including the children. The appetizers are filling alone but save room for the homemade soups and salad bar followed by the main course of fresh seafood, the finests cuts of meat, or delicious pasta dishes. The chef will not disappoint you the flavor of each bite will leave you wanting more making it a difficult decision of what to order each time you go. Trying something new is always a good surprise. The proportions are plenty, but try to save room their delicious deserts.
After dinner walk out to the lawn and enjoy sweeping views of the lake and stay for "one of the most beautiful sunsets in the world." Sadly the Rainbow Shores Restaurant & Motel is only opened May - October which makes spring time even sweeter in central New York.
