Great food. I do not like curry or spicy food but I always find wonderful dishes here that I love. I highly recommend the Aushak Kadu. Even my 6 year old son loved it! The pita bread they give you to start is great... served warm with a pureed eggplant spread that is delish! (And I usually don't like eggplant.) We started with the Samboosak Bolaanee. Its a pastry filled with seasoned ground beef and deep fried and topped with a yogurt cucumber sauce. So good! We also had soup. I had the golden lentil soup and since it has a slight spice to it I asked for some yogurt sauce on the side so I could add it as I ate. Very healthy and hearty soup. I then had the Aushak Kadu. Its my favorite. A very thin ravioli filled with a pumpkin puree seasoned with sweet cardamon and topped with a marinara sauce and a yogurt dill sauce. If you can't get your kids to eat their veggies but they are big on pasta dishes then this is a great dish for them. They get their daily veggies and don't even realize it. I also had the Afghan tea which is light and has a great unique aroma to it. Hints of jasmine. I love the atmosphere here. The big pillows line the booths along the walls of the restaurant and are very comfortable. The owners are always there and they are very friendly. Its not quick service but a place to take your time, relax and enjoy your meal. The food is great for kids but this restaurant also has a very romantic atmosphere for couples as well.
