I went to get a twist out on my natural hair but I still had some straight ends from an old relaxer. Long story short she used the $3 brown ampro gel and didn't roll up my straight ends to match the waves of the twist out. My hair looked like black iciscles at the end!
Not to mention all the nasty brown flakes on my shoulders.
She said it'd be $15 extra to curl it (on top of the $110 I was already paying). I said no to the $15 ,she saw how bad it looked and curled like 2 ends and clipped the others. It looked so bad I wanted to cry. She didn't even care. In fact she was in the mirror looking at herself a good deal of the time. She was nice I guess but had a very slothful (lazy) attitude about her. I ended paying $120 ($10 more for a deep conditioner) to be embarassed when I left the salon. I would never,ever, ever go back there and I don't suggest anyone go unless the stylist is your family member. I gave it two stars because the salon is nice and I had a good shampoo.

I found House of Hair on City Search and decided to give it a try. I called to make a consultation appointment for that evening and the receptionist was very polite and informative about the services and prices. I was running late for my appointment (10 to 15 mins) and called the salon to let them know and I was still advised to come in. When I got there I was greeted by the receptionist, who then called out to the stylist who was going to give me the consult. The stylist had been sitting in one of the chairs speaking with the other stylist who was working on a client's head. Funny, she seemed very non-chalant when I walked through the door, looked at me and proceeded to look away (I was the only other customer there). She then proceeded to take her time and put on her shoes and gave what seemed to be a "why do I have to be bothered?" look to the other stylist, and made her way over to me with a less than friendly look, which "quickly" changed to a smile when she was within a foot of me. Nevertheless, I still spoke with her and must say that she gave me a very good hair assessment and advice on what needed to be done, and with that I made an appointment to see her the next day. As I left the salon, I got to thinking that if I'm getting that type of attitude and this is my first time ever in the salon, that is probably a reflection of how she would be handling my hair! I decided to cancel the appointment and called the receptionist to explain my reason for doing so, as this poor customer service could clearly affect any number of potential clients. Unfortunately there was no apology, I was given the "I understand" and rushed off the phone. My advice is the same- wait to see what other reviews are given before taking a chance with this place. It's possible that the stylist was having a "bad day" or something, but if they cannot make a good 1st impression with you as you enter the store, then what's to be said about when you actually sit in the chair!

I was in need of a perm and needed it done asap. I called, they took me last minute and when I got there they were very pleasant. I was greeted with a smile from the stylist assigned to me (Dee). Dee was very pleasant and very professional but her overall look and vibe said "don't get excited-I'm not that good" and she really isn't. She permed the hell outta my hair and that's it. She used a flat iron that in my opinion was way too hot and she burned some of my ends. The end result was absolutely horrible and if you wanted to fry chicken for a party, you could have used all of the oil sheen in my hair. Oh well I was in need of a perm and I got one. Just so you know the other stylists looked fierce but who knows if that meant they could do fierce hair?! I won't be back to find out.
